Please retry the strength of metals. Where you had the metal cylinders, and crushed them. Now with the new press you might get more accurate results. And hopefully the brass cylinder won't destroy the bunker like the window😂

@@ferretyluvthat's my point. If you watch the video at that specific point I tagged, the books sheared off of one another - they had nothing to stop their outwards expansion as the z coordinate compressed. Interleaving them would prevent that happening, giving a better crush.
For BRANDING purposes, you should consider affixing a yellow-red electrical symbol sign onto the concrete backdrop, like there was on the green lockers by the previous press.

The idea to record the sound of the pump to give an indication how hard it works is great. I always listened to it in your previous videos.

9:30 I think you should have the pump sound included in the audio for normal speed stuff but remove it for the slow motion parts. All the cracking sounds will be enough for the slow motion parts and allows the viewer to focus more on those details.
I've been watching since the "mega press" was first mentioned, it's so exciting to finally see it.

I bet he uses it primarily in his main business. It looks like he has a fairly large shop full of equipment for doing who-knows-what. I'd guess the the YT channel is just a side hobby.

THats a great upgrade on the press and the safety bunker looks very safe! I have to say though, that i miss the intro video, the "here we go", and the extra content at the end. Should put a marker board behind the GoPro and place bets on how high it jumps and as a record of the jumps as an extra bonus. Also like the idea of the mic on the pump. Be interesting to hear how much work its doing.

One thing you can do to ensure better video capture would be to install steel clamp tracks on the walls of the bunker; you can clamp your camera arms to the tracks and not worry about tripods, etc. Cheers!
Yeah the sound is definitely part of how we know if the machine is struggling. And with this press im sure itll take quite a bit for it to max out.

Love this new press. Is it supposed to jerk around so much when things explode? Will need to check bolts often if so or find a way to control the shaking.

Right about the pump sound, being able to tune it out in moments required is a good option
I suggest you get a floating point audio recorder. This allow to record the quiest sound to the loudest sound without peaking. You then select the correct microphone for the range of sound and level you want to record.
Your dedication to safety is very reassuring!

Reg. The future microphone facing the crushing under the press head. Im not an expert, but the future hollow BOOM after the explosion distorts and sounds “bad”, because it picks up absolutely everything in the room. Perhaps a future solution, is to place the microphone inside a pipe, facing the crushing under the ‘head’, the same way a “motor engine stethoscope” only picks up audio ‘very locally’. 🤷🏼♂️🤔

I doubt you'd read this, BUT the reason the books slid out so fast, was because of the smooth book covers. Remove that, and you get one heck of a show!
Watch how they slide before they pop out, they slide because of the smooth glossy paper wrapped around the books.
Simple fix to getting a better experience popping books in the press.
You may want to check with profi regarding cavitation of the cylinder and control valve. The instantaneos change in pressure when the ram breaks free could be causing cavitation internally. Love the channel.

I'm happy on the decision to include the audio from the pump and to split them to allow mixing satisfaction.

I suggest coating the inside of the finished bunker with some bed liner material for a bit of extra shrapnel protection and easy cleanup for the juicy stuff.
Good idea about adding audio channel for the pump. it being somewhat isolated from the bunker sound gives control, and sound is another channel of information. In a typical movie or TV show, audio is where most of the information is. You can often follow what is happening just by listening, where as you don't know what the hell is going on by just looking at the picture.
Don't underestimate the safety of adding to the press room a big flow exhaust leading outside.
