12x World Champion Disc Golfer Ken Climo #4297 hosts an instructional clinic at Innova's 2011 United States Disc Golf Championships in Rock Hill, South Carolina. 10.7.2011
Previous comment aside, this clinic is Platinum to my game. Now I have a better understanding of what I know, and how to better express the seemingly "easy" upshots and putts to newer throwers. I can increase my game, in addition to helping others; and I am only 19 mins in... I will comment again, if that's okay, the results, and then continue watching. Thank you for posting this video. The "Champ"! Is my encouragement!
Thank you & I’m glad it’s helped! I worked the video coverage of that USDGC event & didn’t plan on shooting video of the clinics, otherwise the audio would’ve been better.
Best putting lesson I've seen. I've been practicing in my backyard throwing at a baby swing and I'm nailing that thing most of the time from about 30' now. Can't wait to get disc basket.
Winthrop has the most fierce geese in the world, you can hear them in the background robbing players. Fearless water fowl. Climo is one of a kind, just like Winthrop. Thanks for the post Chris.
Thanks to Ken there is an impossibly high bar to the game, even the likes of a macbeth or mcmahon will likely be lucky to push any higher. I started at age 53, I'm just happy to be outdoors stomping around the woods flinging circular slabs of petroleum products, enjoying a little sun, exercise, sport and fresh air. Oh ya, it's golf so there is swearing. 😜
Can anyone tell me if you are, or aren't supposed to push the disc with the back of your hand? 19:20 they say "the wrist never breaks open", therefore the hand is beside the disc on release. Later on, 40:43, Ken says "our hand is near the back of the disc" which contradicts what they were teaching earlier.
40:30 "On our push putt, like he's saying, we're grabbing a little bit back farther than a spin putt and. You think you're releasing it here out in front of the disc but actually by the time we're releasing it our hand is at the Back of the disc, this is now the front, our hand is near the back of the disc..... you got to push it from the back, which gives it momentum rather than pulling from the front which gives it overspin and :( you push it from the back its easier to stay on line. It looks like its from the front, its in the front here. by the time I release it its probably 3/4 of the way to the back edge of the disc before we release"
15:41 "I like to get my weight out in front, have my weight kinda over the knee. Don't want to be way back here. You get your weight up front, while you're lining it up. So then when you pull back, to here, you can go right back to where you just were. Its a lot easier to go back to a position you were just in, then to start back here and to finish up in a different position. If you start in this position, rock, finish in this position. You'll be more consistent for sure."
I have tried doing a push putt a hundred times and I just don't get it. The disc always comes out very strange looking and inconsistent. People like Kevin, Ricky, Paul, and Hailey King all have putts where it seems like it's coming from low and in the middle. Every time I try one it never comes out flat or fast enough. If I try to add speed, it just wobbles. I consider myself a pretty good spin putter, but I know my form is not very efficient. I have the disc straight out in front of me and then I cock it back to my chest and spin it straight forward. This is the most accurate style I've found, but it's impossible to get more than 30ish feet without changing my form up. What am I not understanding about the push putt?
what I do for a flat flight is a push put . start off with a straddle but what's all the same hand movements as you push put. then slightly turn at an angle. you should be able to get more power yet keep the same line as you would with a straddle putt.
First thing he brings up is attitude. So overlooked. Ken is the GOAT 🐐

Huge game changer.
This is the best clinic I've ever seen. Master this everyone! It works!
That attitude thing is a great gem and so so underrated! Felt that in my own body today

Can anyone tell me why David is saying "slightly nose up" at 23:03 then Ken is saying "slightly nose down" at 35:52? Which one is correct?
First clinic iv'e ever seen climo host

Chris Heil Kenny did a set of clinics with Greg Hosfeld a while back also. Look for FGCU Clinic here on youtube.

HELP ! We can't find a Basket anywhere for Putting demo
Putting starts at 11:50
Even a vuvuzela doesnt distract him
Does Innova have a series of clinics with Ken produced in studio? Something like the Golf Channel does for ball golf... 📀⛳️ #DiscGolf
How do you get the disc flat?
Anyone notice paige bjerkaas/shue in the front row @29:23?

practise short putts like 10 feet., then after months move some feet aways, power comes with months of practise
sweet! 20 ft all i gotta do is open my hand! lmao... god damn do i suck
Yea I listened! I want a flat flight! Therefore my question!!!'

@ 16:52 The guy in the background got his disc back =)
If you want to see someone who has PERFECT counterbalance when they putt, watch Jennifer Allen. Great example!
Funny how we seem to preach to chains and practice such a element and mystery to our fans.
woow shovel dont push
Ricky looks as big as Climo.
god, feldbergs elitist tone makes me want to puke
personal problem
feldberg knows the mechanics, it's what he has studied bruh
