  • I go thru some alternatives for traditional dip pens.
Tachikawa nibholder is really close, it uses same nibs. But it has grip and cap!
Glass dip pen is really common and you can find them in many bookstores. They are fragile and may be really unergonomic.
Sailor Horoco, this one is interesting! it has feed like fountain pen and nib can be stored as cap in pen. it also fits into pencil case. They might be hard to find.
Drillog, expensive piece of not writing pen. I don't recomend it st all, it used to be kickstarter.

Thanks for the overview. I have a dip pen and a glass dip pen and like both. Especially for swatching inks, they're just so handy. That last one was very disappointing again. It looks like it could work, but the ink didn't get to the tip.

I have done all my swatch with glass nib. It is super handy and so easy to clean. 😁

    Lovely pens all around!
I'll admit, I've been pining for a glass pen. I've been hesitant for fear of breaking it. But the more I see it, the more I think it will be a good try! Maybe when I'm dropping things a little less

Full glass pen might shatter easily if dropped, but there is option to have glass nib in fountain pen body! Those are more durable and can handle things like traveling. Moonman makes one, and those are quite easy to find.
