When I had my van done, the police did not investigate then I lost my no claims on my insurance. So when it came to renewal of the insurance I had to pay more due to the loss of my no claims bonus. Then of course the loss of earnings due to the van being off the road and loss of tools. I was chatting to a work colleague and we both said we would rather pay the robbing f***** not to touch the van.

It’s crazy, you become a victim of a crime then get penalties for it ongoing from the companies you pay to support you with it.
The whole thing is a joke and something needs to be addressed with it.
Sorry to hear you went through all that fella

The biggest issue with tool theft or tool theft from Vans is the police are too busy to investigate it. I mean if they go to the car boot sales they will find stolen tools. Next thing is they need to do a minimum of 5 year prison term for tool theft or handling stolen tools.

Tougher sentences should be a must. But like you said if no one investigated them no one is going to prison for it.
Do you think van’s could be made tamper proof?

@@TorqueUp The manufacturers of vans need to do more. They should have factory fitted reinforcement plates in the known weak areas. If they are unsure of what the weak arears are then look at the after market stuff that has been fitted to their vans. Vans also need to be fitted with better alarms that sense people walking around the van before the break in. This could maybe send a mesage to the owner or pop up on their app.
People have said that it is harder to get into a tin of SPAM than get into a Ford Transit.

What surprises me is that one of the manufacturers don’t see this as a huge opportunity to gain one up on their competitors.
Imagine if one of them developed a van with all these features as standard … it would be the highest selling vehicle in the country OVERNIGHT!

Thanks for watching. I suppose if it’s Bluetooth it will only work whilst in range of your phone?
