Proof they need a “Blew Us Away” award. This was beautiful and to hear those words of praise from Penn on behalf of Teller made me tear up… Perfect performance.
So true.
agree !
hear hear!! Great idea especially with tricks that are executed so well, flawless and with such finesse, there should be an additional award!
Same here!
Penn and Teller Blow Us
Making Teller cry of amusement, must be one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment for any performer... priceless!!
Yes. Teller facial expressions is the best
If you make Teller cry, you did something right.
@@beaupeterson188 I like your rhyme. If I may piggy back a bit, I'd say that if you did Teller cry, you did EVERYTHING, way BEYOND right. Only those (very very few), have made Teller cry (at least publicly).
When does he cry?
@@dehydratedculture9126 toward the end when Pen talks.
This is a Masterpiece...
Hi jeki is here, you should give your trophy 🏆 😄
Jeki you are awesome too, but shoot is not less than you
OH MY!!! 😱
Hey Jeki. You're a great magician (one of my favourites) and you know great magic when you see it. You're right, this was brilliant 👏
It’s Jeki Yoo himself!! OH MY!!!!!!!
There's a certain irony on Fool Us that often the very best magicians in the world don't win a trophy.
Shoot Ogawa does so much more than is shown here, and it all looks amazing and flawless. He is one of my favorite magicians of all time.
This is probably my biggest complaint; Fool Us isn't really about Penn and Teller being fooled, it's about introducing the world to the next generation of great magicians and giving them a chance to be known. It also gives an opportunity for new magic to be innovated. But often the people who get the trophy aren't really either and those who satisfy one or both don't get the trophy.
They messed up going with the snazzy, snappy "Fool Us" FU gimmick and should've made it the "Amaze Us" trophy.
@@horusschnopp1882 Yes, sometimes a magician can fool them with kind of a cheap trick, which is not as spectacular as this routine.
Agree on your view
@@horusschnopp1882 I partially agree with you. Sometimes the foolers simply managed a gimmicked version of an old illusion, or manage to get Pen & Teller to guess incorrectly at which point the "trick" occurred in an act. However, occasionally some magicians do present things that I think are very original and unconventional. I think that was the original aim of the show. Not to increase the standard by which a trick is performed, but to get magicians to come up with new and interesting ways to carry on magic. This is why, although he is amazing in the true sense of the word, Shoot did not win a Fool Us trophy.
There was this man on the show long time ago before Alisson was there on the show.... his name was Michael Vincent...... what he showed is still the finest sleight of hand I have ever seen...... and yet that didn't fool them..... they know the sleights and thus it is difficult to "fool" them
I think this is the highest praise Penn could give to a non-fooler. The trick is just sleight of hand, so I'm not surprised they weren't fooled, but Penn did say it was some of the best sleight of hand in the world, and I couldn't agree more. I was certainly fooled, and also amazed by the sheer level of skill! This was absolutely fantastic!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Only trick was the camera zooming all over the place, not impressed!
No, Penn said Shoot was THE BEST sleight of hand in the world.
Question if they know how a trick is done but did not see it done dose that count as a fool or no to you. I mean there might be with some tricks with only 1 way to do it so they could say we know how that's done. But you could do it that way so well they never saw you do anything so would you class that a foo yourselfl or no ? Genuine questions from someone open to learning from more experienced minds on the area.Thank you kindly.
@@georgeman5284 And this is something which is evolving in this program. Because sometimes it was like that they need to know and only know how effect is done.. and there was one time when they said that they need to also notice this move..
I think that simply they have more magicians which simply are the best in the industry so they had to simply raise bar a little.. Because it's really hard to take fooller who use classic magic and simply master it vs fooler who design new trick.
You need to see the ring sleight of hand if you think this is something
i think the most impressive part about this act was the size of his balls. to attempt close-up sleight of hand with teller breathing down his neck doesn't just take skill, but big balls of steel
Yes. I like cheeky wizards who "abuse" Teller's hand, for example, to move a large coin under a white jacket in the right perspective ... even from Penn's point of view. :) Bravo.
Albert LIn, it's easier to misdirect someone close up than an entire virtual audience. He has better control over the angles and Teller's POV.
@@DL-kc8fc Hah, good eye - or good thinking. You're right, he's definitely doing something there. Hooray for infinite replays :-D
Still, even so - this is Teller. I doubt there is much that escapes his attention, even (or especially) the misdirections aimed at him.
@@christophalexander4542 No repetitions, no reduced speed. All only once, to have the same conditions as Penn, although the television viewer is always disadvantaged by brutal cuts. Only my experienced eye in this industry "appreciated" the audacity of this magician, and I like that. Of course, Teller knows, but this is a continuation of the magic of Penn and Teller, who, in the interest of the attractiveness of this show, prefer to answer that they have been deceived. This is not new information for me, but thanks for the response.
Yes indeed, there were some steel balls hidden in that invisible purse
"and the best sleight of hand of anybody in the world right now" - Penn. Wow, that's worth more than the trophy.
Can't get a better compliment then that! Worth much more than the fooler trophy!
100% Accurate Statement!!!!! Shoot was SO HUMBLE He Teared up Listening to Penn's Praise. Very Moving! I don't believe Shoot came here really to fool Penn and Teller But To show His Talent to Them and Us. This Video Should Have way more thumbs up than 7K.
This was some high level slight of hand, Shoot Ogawa is awesome.
I think exactly the same‼️🤗
'sleight of hand'
@@TheRiggz666 you just slighted him when you corrected his spelling of sleight.... :-D
David ji wikipedia.org/wiki/-ji true that
Indeed
The look on Teller's face was worth far more than the trophy. Having an illusion work for somebody who doesn't know how it's being done is one thing. Teller knew absolutely what was being done and the illusion still worked for him.
Shoot Ogawa probably one of the most skillful magician on Earth . Not just his skill but the way he think about magic is so much different and we have so much respect for him .
Very well done , very beautiful Shoot !
Yes he is the treasure of Japan‼️🤗
❤
You know someone's sleight of hand is amazing when Teller giggles like a little kid!! I might not know the difference between good and amazing sleight of hand, but that is a tell-tale sign!
Ahem... It's a "teller-tale" sign
@@XRPeakyBlindAR to much camera action flashing, not impressed!
they don't praise that much magicians as a "polite way" to explain they were not fooled, he deserved every bit of it.
Absolutely right, he deserved praise and Penn and Teller gave it in a very humble way🙏
Oh man, it was hard to hold back my tears seeing both Teller and Ogawa had so sensitive feelings! What a great moment! When hard work gets it reward, better than the trophy! :)
I think it highlights how well he has attained his aim with magic. That is, of making people happy. I have heard other magicians talk about their joy with spreading awe and happiness and making something fun for viewers. But I have never seen them bring somebody to tears with joy.
I was freaking crying like a baby when penn was talking to you at the end that was well deserved praise. How fantastic. Thank you for the performance
Indeed
It's so rare to see Teller giggling like a child while taking part in a trick, he was genuinely as happy as a child in a sweet shop!
He does that every time tho haha
I think that happens when Teller knows what's happening in reality but his eyes still inform the brain that something else just happened because the trick was executed perfectly. For me, the 2:53 still looks like that.
英語でも日本語でも、話し方から技術まで全てうますぎるんだよね。
This was an exhibition guest, because while they knew that there was nothing to fool with, you deserved to be introduced to the world for your incredible skills! I wish they had another trophy for people like you.
I think one of the reasons why Penn gets so mad is because the prize is really performing with Penn and Teller in Las Vegas. This was one of the most beautiful magic acts I have ever seen, and made Teller cry, but because it's sleight of hand, Penn and Teller were not fooled. They can't have this beautiful act, but they have to take the guy who put a cookie in his mouth...
As Teller, a watched the whole act with tears in my eyes. Can`t explain myself why
No doubt his magic trick revealed as best sleight of hand in world, but how did 3 people on stage(Teller, Alyson and Magician) along with thousands of people got teary-eyed? Isn't it an absolute magical thing along with his top notch performance?
That was beautiful, and Teller was moved by it, just amazing!
Yes 👍
The smile @2:27 is of someone who knows exactly how it is done but never seen it done this well before!
So mystifying and so emotionally moving. Wonderful performance.
自分も見てるだけなのに、泣きそうになってしまった。Pennのコメントが全てを説明してくれてる。
penn just floored him with his patter compliment, he really was not expecting that, and to be complimented on that by one of the greats clearly meant a lot to him, especially him being a non english speaking magician
Mr. Ogawa, I really hope they became friends with you and opened all the doors in front of your career , this was real magic!
The words by Penn and eyes by Teller are the best prize someone ever got in this show. Well done!!!
I had the privilege to meet Shoot Ogawa in Singapore many years ago and without a shadow of doubt, he is one of the best coin magicians in the world. I would even say the best coin magician. One of the most kindest and sweetest person you can meet. Penn and Teller are absolutely right when they say he has great presentation. You never get bored when he performs. You can see the tears in Teller's eyes and that alone speaks volumes on the talent that Shoot Ogawa is.
Many people knows he is the best magician.
But the point is his personality is also the best.
I feel like I got a early Christmas present.
The best CZcams I’ve ever seen.
Thank you very very much‼️

You don't need a trophy if you receive such praise. Truly heartwarming!
I had the pleasure of seeing Shoot perform close-up down in the basement of the Magic Castle. It was a small gathering of us, an impromptu show he was using as a sort of rehearsal to perfect material for the upcoming FISM competition. I have never seen such gorgeous, flawless sleight-of-hand in person. He has such a warm, humble demeanor too that just takes you in during the performance. This act was beautiful and one of my favorite Fool Us moments.
That compliment from Penn means more than any trophy ever could 🥲
For sure
wow, this guy is phenomenal. Forget a trophy on whether you fooled them or not, because really is that what magic is at it's core, 'see if I can fool you'? They should have a separate trophy for sleight of hand so good it leaves them completely amazed
Another person who may have tears in his eyes is David Roth, bitter tears from the pain of seeing his presentation done ten times better.
I was never that crazy about the Portable Hole/Invisible Purse thing, and definitely not a fan of Roth's fast-moving, faster-talking presentation. (Credit where it's due, he was a pioneer for sure.)
Ogawa elevates this plot to another level, with humility, a gentle humor, and skill that's off the charts. *This* is artful entertainment, and what the Invisible Purse plot should have been all along.
Thank you, Shoot!
Penn said he's the best right now wow awesome
High caliber magic. That gentleman is in a different league.
If I were Penn, I would just pretend I was fooled, hand him the trophy and have his performance in my act... Because that is some world class sleight of hand and looks so very magical in Shoot's hands... Major respect... 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Pretty sure if they really like someone, the can just ask him to perform in their act anyway.
Penn doesn't like to lie.
@@gifctdotorgthought-police3706 LOL!!!
@@shaunclarkson7131 yeah I don't think piff ever fooled them, but they loved his shtick and basically got him a Vegas residence. They bring these folks on their shows all the time, its just winning the trophy that guarantees it.
@@rma42084 I feel the FU trophy etc is just there so it’s not just “great magic”. It’s the plot if you will. The show would be enjoyable without it, but the commentary is better this way:)
You don't need a trophy when you were able to bring tears to the eyes of another great magician. Priceless moment, thank you!
Started watching shoot ogawa when I was 16 now I’m 37 and he’s still kicking ass, what a legend!!!!!!
I’ve watched this multiple times and it still makes me cry at his reaction to pens comments at the end. You can see how much it means to him.
You can see Teller light up when he sees REALLY good slight of hand.
Sleight.
Shoot seems to be a very nice person. Good for him!
The complements that Penn gave afterwards and.Teller crying with joy was so emotional and darling!
Beautiful. Tears of joy all round!
As usual Penn gives a speech instantly and thoughtfully which anyone else would need one hour on a word processor to construct.
Having the balls to bring Teller to watch the trick up close deserves a trophy.
This really touched my soul! Now, THAT'S magic. Thanks Shoot!
I think Penn's words and Teller's emotions were worth far more than the trophy!
Magic is so much more than just fooling someone. Being able to bring Teller to tears is Real Magic! Bravo Shoot!
Well done! Amazingly smooth.
that was the most heart felt moment in fools us.. teller has tears too!
Shoot is amazing... an inspiration and a real gentleman of magic.
Such a humble person and very comforting voice. And of course top notch magic.
Outstanding performance! Congrats
感動しました。電車の中で拝見いたしましたが、涙💧が出てくるのを押さえられませんでした。
ありがとうございます。感謝しております。
Extremely well done!
You make me happy by bringing us this great moment.
Maaaaan using Teller to "help" you was so clever! Absolutely beautiful routine and masterful skill.
High praise 👏
Excellent show!
One of my favorites without a doubt.
These sleights were extremely impressive! Well done.
Damn, I can see a tear in Teller's eye, and the extensive blinking to hide it. That's very touching to see, you both being that moved by it. Well done!
I've watched so much magic, and learned a fair bit myself. I giglged like a child because I was amazed for the first time in a long time. It really was the best sleight of hand I've seen in ages.
Penn likes to play the big, loud buffoon, but he's very well-spoken, and can be very sensitive and kind. His moving speech at the end of this video shows it.
And obviously I agree that that was a truly beautiful and amazing display of magical art by Mr Ogawa, and his humility and sincerity made it seem even better.
To have Teller right there and still be impressive is a feat in its own. THAT
WAS
MAGNIFICENT!
What a great routine, what a great talent and what a great moment. I loved every second of it. Thank you, Shoot!
Penn is one of the most eloquent speakers around. I absolutely adore him.
Ogawa’s skill level is on a different planet!! His presentation and performance and delivery and patter is smooooooooth!!!
Congratulations Shoot. That was sheer poetry - beautiful magic with impeccable, invisible execution.
I was able to see the moves… but only after pause, rewind, zoom, slowmo 😳
Awesome!!
Beautiful.
Just beautiful.
This man is awesome and so gracious, amazing work and great job!
Aww..they made the guest tear up at the end which made me tear up. ❤️
I love Penn for the honor he bestowed on Mr. Ogawa. It was very touching and I was tearing up. Just beautiful.
I could die happy if i received such praise. A beautiful act and a beautiful moment between fellow artists.
Making Teller break character and audible laugh, you made a huge accomplishment btw
thank you
What a great routine. Even though Penn & Teller weren't fooled, you could tell they genuinely loved the performance.
Thank you shoot i loved your flawless ability!😊
I never saw a magic trick that made me cry. Bravo. Such amazing talent.
Stunning performance. Good luck in the future.
He has so many amazing routines! Met him at the magic castle a few times, super nice guy with extraordinary talent/skills.
Look humble
Most beautiful performance on Penn&Teller ♥️♠️
truly the best slight of hand I have ever seen!
So beautifully done. ,👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful performance
This is the best I ever seen so far 🙏🏾🤞🏾🇯🇲
Shoot Ogawa may not have fooled Penn & Teller but I bet he made them very happy.
ive been learning shoot ogawa's dvd for a long time.. they know shoot for sure
This is a lovely performance
That was amazing And their compliments to you were beautiful
Love shoot❤remember working at Kodak theater doing walk around magic with 5 other magicians and all we did was watching shoot doing this and ninja rings👏🏽good ole days😊
Amazing and PERFECT routine!
Very emotional, skillful, talentful magic. Shoot was amazing!
His personality and aura is so humble, but his routine is so powerful. Just an awesome magician.
First slight of hands i was impressed to see Teller impressed as well, you can actually see his happiness
that was amazing!!!
This is GOD level sleigh of hand, i think i know what he did, but he was so clean that it makes doubt about what i know of coin magic. This is the kind of act that i love, i suppose to know how its done but he is so high level that i just give up. Just amazing
Bravo My Friend... that was great!! Don't give up & you will come back stronger! Wish you all the best!❤🙏🏼
The greatest living coin artist. Love him.
