"The first time I ever really listened to Kyle Kulinski’s show was in the back of a cab last summer. The driver had his phone hooked up through the stereo and was pumping out an episode through the car speakers - loudly, as if looking to convert a captive audience.
“Do you like Kyle Kulinski?”
The driver, Ahmed, was a recent immigrant and apparently a die-hard fan of Secular Talk, the political talk show that Kulinski broadcasts on CZcams. I told him, yes, in fact. I do like Kulinski, had come across his show several years ago, and, all things considered, he seemed pretty good.
“He understands what we’re up against,” Ahmed said. “Like Bernie.”
But I was surprised to hear Kulinski’s name mentioned in the same breath as Bernie Sanders, particularly with such adoration. Because what I did remember about Kulinski’s show struck me as mostly capital-P “progressive” takes on the news - the left wing of the Netroots crowd more than the democratic socialism Sanders has popularized.
It’s an impression that wasn’t entirely incorrect.
“I have no time for philosophical, airy bullshit,” Kulinski tells me from his home in Westchester, New York. “I don’t want to hear about Lenin. I don’t want to hear about Marx. I just want a super plainspoken, straightforward agenda with a straightforward way of selling it.”
With over 800,000 subscribers and nearly 670 million total views on CZcams, selling a progressive agenda is clearly something Kulinski knows how to do - even Democracy Now, the long-standing flagship of progressive media, cannot match his reach on the platform. Chapo Trap House can certainly boast a wildly devoted fan base (and a not insignificant degree of media influence), but their audience is roughly half the size of Kulinski’s.
While Secular Talk might be more likely to be looped in with the progressive networks around Air America and Pacifica alums like Sam Seder than the more resolutely socialist world, Kulinski’s fiery rhetoric, razor-sharp class instincts, and knack for withering takedowns sets him apart from his peers. Judging by his rhetoric alone, he’s closer to a Eugene Debs than a Chris Hayes.
But unlike Hayes, Amy Goodman, or his friend Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks - who began airing Secular Talk on his web network seven years ago - the thirty-two-year-old Kulinski is virtually invisible in the mainstream media. Despite his enormous fan base, his show has never once been mentioned in the obligatory trend pieces on “the Millennial Left” pumped out by the prestige media. Nor has Kulinski’s name ever popped up at all in the New York Times, Vox, the New Yorker, New York Magazine, or the Washington Post, despite his leading role in cofounding Justice Democrats, the organization widely credited with sweeping Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the rest of “the Squad” to power.
Just last week, his Wikipedia page was deleted. The reason? “There is very simply no [reliable source] coverage of this person,” according to one moderator. In new media, he’s king - the Sean Hannity of the Berniecrat left. In old media, he’s nobody.
I suspect there are a few reasons for that. There is nothing “cool” about Kulinski’s show. (As a friend put it, “‘Welcome to Secular Talk’ sounds like something you’d hear on Egyptian radio.”) His no-nonsense social-democratic politics won’t get him much cred with the Full Communism crowd. He records his show not in Brooklyn or Los Angeles, but in a studio he built himself in his modest Westchester home. His hair is too groomed and his taste in clothes too preppy to qualify as “Dirtbag Left.” Nor has he ever attended an n+1 release party. “Not only have I not attended one,” he says, “I have no idea what that means.”
And yet he’s astonishingly plugged-in for a young man in the suburbs. Wondering how Sanders ended up on the Joe Rogan Experience? Kulinski, a frequent guest on Rogan’s wildly popular show, introduced them. “You make the most sense to me,” Rogan told Kulinski on a recent episode. “You’re a normal person.”
Much like Sanders himself, Kulinski’s show has a massive audience that just doesn’t compute with our media’s understanding of “what the kids want” or even “what the left-wing kids want.”
It’s probably for the best - the very woke and very WASP-ish decorum haunting much of the media world is nowhere to be found in Secular Talk. “Corporate Democrats over-focus on identity as a trick to divert you from the issues that unite us all - class issues,” he said on a recent episode.

The idiocy of American and Israeli Foreign Policy walk hand in hand.
Don't insult idiots.
Quite possibly as they are an ancient nation.
No its not incompetence and its not stupidity. Thats where you're wrong. It may seem stupid from a human perspective, but from a greedy, bloodthirsty, imperialist perspective it makes perfect sense! Iran is a rival antagonistic force in the region that had a bourgeoi nationalist revolution in the 1970s which lead to the ousting of the US backed puppet the Shah. With that, Iran regained a degree of independence. US and British oil companies don't like that, they set up the Shah to rule so that they could plunder the country and now they can't. This is what its actually about. Everything else such as "Iran being an aggressive nation that sponsors terrorism" is little more than post hoc justification for US + Israeli crimes against their neighbors.
But if Iran is directly going out of its way to avoid escalating a hot war, than it undermines the narrative of a hostile aggressor nation.

I was so scared last night when I saw your video as my family is in Isfahan on vacation but chatted with my brother around 12:30 a.m. and he said nothing happened. They are making fun of Israeli drones saying they look like toys they bought for their children. All is calm in Isfahan and people were doing morning workout around Zayanderood river this morning. I saw videos of people doing everyday things. Poeple in line buying delicous breakfast, etc. Some heard a noise when drones were hit by air defence. Some others said they did not even wake up at night. Thank you Kyle for your great videos. Love from Canada.
Thank you, Mariam.
Never imagined that I would be relying on Iran to be the rational state actor. My oh my, how my worldview has altered in the last few years.
Right all morning I was thinking this. Wild.
I feel like this shows the world is very different in reality than how we think. Pretty wild.
The problem is what we are fed from zionist owned media. They lie about everything
As it edges closer to the truth. The trouble with being constantly lied to is we believe things even against our own will. Just as we buy junk we don't really want because we have been badgered into believing stuff.
No kidding I have been thinking, "Wow, Iran is the one being the adult in the room. How weird is that?"
It doesn't make sense to me to think that Israel can use this as a reason to continue attacking if Iran doesn't respond. Their whole rationalization was that they were "responding" to Iran's direct attack, which of course was an actual response to the bombing in Damascus. If Iran doesn't respond with further escalation, then continued attacks by Israel will be harder to justify on the international stage. They'll dig themselves deeper into the image of an unhinged aggressor in the area. The international community already understands that Iran's theater attack was a response to something Israel initiated on April 1st, regardless of how Israel, the US or other western powers pretend to spin it.
Facts.
Well if Bibi has truly gone war manic crazy, then we should be expecting Israel to be making irrational decisions. so keep that in mind
@@Methyll Anyone can go crazy, and it's clear he and others in power are seeing how far they can go, but they do seem to be deeply invested in convincing others their project is legitimate. Arguably, they have to or they'll be forced to deal with military and other economic consequences from people who would otherwise be allies or neutral. Even in a world where they get all the things, they eventually have to be seen as a legitimate member of the UN. The zionist project has always been critically dependent on being seen as a real country.
It’s bibi’s deathwish
Otherwise you’re right
Israel already looks like an unhinged attacker to the majority of the world, the problem is that doesn’t matter if the US continues to aid and abet their every unhinged attack.
It is sad how Iran the supposed bad guy showed restraint after the embassy attack and now after this, but they're still the "bad guy", it's a lose lose for them
Why do you think like that ?
Do you watch a lot of fake news ?
bro they aren't the bad guys. they're the last stronghold of an oppressed and battered people. battered and oppressed by our leaders in the west
Absolutely.
Because there is a wider context here than this one interaction. But I don't think either party is "good."
And Iran is obviously not worried about whether or not the US sees them as bad guys.
Look at Iran being the good guy and the adult in the room, twice in a row...
Yes! Now the thing is, what will iSrael do to taunt them back into retaliating so they can get a full scale war started and then call in US-dAddy!
And they call Islam the warmonger religion... Look at what Christian America and Jewish Israel have done while branding themselves as peacekeepers
Now that you've noticed this, review the last few decades. You'll find it's more than twice. Israel has always been the unhinged maniacal regime. It's just that the media painted a different picture, just like it's trying to do now.
Man even war is a clown show nowadays. "Virtue signal attack" is all I needed to fucking hear.
Ehem
Literally the ENTIRE Western Paradigm is claiming things that cannot be verified as true
For example, the Queen's Commonwealth is held on behalf of Jesus, until he returns
That's a fact
Our entire system is built on make believe
Actually, firing a shot "for honor" is a common tactic when one or both sides don´t want to fight. As an example, in Sicily in 1943, the Italians would often fire a burst from a machine gun or lob a few mortar rounds, and then immediately raise white flags and surrender. In an ideal case, there were prior negotiations, where both sides agreed to a performative exchange of fire, where they would fire into an empty field, over the heads of the enemy, or in other ways that were unlikely to kill anyone. This allowed both sides to spare the lives of their men, while also preserving the "honor" of both units.
The only weird part here is that this usually happens when the soldiers from both sides don´t really hate each other. In the case of Israel and Iran, where each side wants to wipe out the other, this kind of restraint is remarkable. I guess both sides thought about it and realized that a conventional war is not in the best interest of either country right now, with US diplomacy probably playing a significant role here.
@@jirkazalabak1514I’m starting to think the whole “everyone hates Israel” thing was propaganda all these years…. What if Iran hates that Israel terrorizes the region/vs actually trying to wipe them away just due to religion
Israel has the better bombs and logistics, but the IDF is only propagandised as the best army in the world, it's the bestseller by its allies sure, and they can deliver a bombing campaign that shakes the earth, but they always lose many many soldiers in actual ground operations and guerrilla warfare
It’s wild that Iran are the ones being responsible adults here.

It's not crazy. It's always the US and it's illegitimate baby Israel who are always the aggressors and occupiers.
How would this ever escalate into WW3? Why is it every time two countries attack each other someone says this.
@@popermen694would anyone have predicted that ONE high level aristocrat in Austria-Hungary being assassinated would have led to WWI? Probably not. But part of the reason for it was the system of alliances which involved multiple major powers. The same applies here. It's not "whenever two countries attack each other." It's when two countries with major powers backing them. That's the difference. while it's fairly unlikely that Russia or China would directly intervene in a middle east conflict, it can't be ruled out. The US intervened in both world wars even though it wasn't fully part of alliances yet. But the wars were so large and significant that it felt it had to be part of it to safeguard it's interests. It's entirely possible something similar could happen with Russia or China if the middle east moves into a hot war with Iran and the US backed Israel. I'm no expert, but there's more justification for talking about world wars than you think.

Yeah because the Islamist government in Iran has shown so much tolerance and restraint in the past.
The Iranian drone & missile attack was done in response to Israel’s attack at an Iranian consulate & to show that Iran can hit Israel anywhere Iran wants to. It was a move to establish deterrence. Israel’s pride made a symbolic attack by sending a few low level drones, which were blown out of the sky by Iranian air defences. It was laughed off by Iran, so this reaction by Iran might cause Israel’s pride to push for a bigger attack by Israel.

All of these recent conflicts have told me that state militaries are useless
One of the biggest problems is the definition of winning. For a large army winning is the suppression of the other group, for militias and many low-tech states winning is just not being dismantled. Not to mention the technology differential comes with a cost differential. Iran is a large-ish sovereign state so maybe it's a little bit less like the Tali (2000s), but it skews that way.

? Biden keeps folding to Bibi
Never would have thought Iran is being the adult 🤣🤣
The history books will reflect that Iran wanted absolutely zero smoke in this conflict
I love these videos. Thank you for being on the right side of History
“ If my sons did not want war, there would be none”
Gutle Rothschild
Hippy in the woods time ha! Hippy in the woods!
Why is it so hard to simply quit attacking eachother? War is unnecessary if we actually live inna civilized society smh.
Hard to simply quit when IsNotReal won't stop escalating and continues to become 1940s Germans!
In my honest opinion, they can continue attacking one another, i just don't want USA to be involved once Israel call the US to fight the war for them
Put your panties on toots.
@@UkranianStallion they will, if you have been paying attention America has spread out on all fours like the dog it is to listen to its master for the past half year.
Israel is nothing without US support.@@UkranianStallion
I love wherever it is you are in this vid with those trees. It reminds me of the PacNW.
In truth, Iran is like the oldest country in existence.
Cmon World War 3, please wait until after the Elden Ring DLC releases

I want to live long enough to play GTA 6 😢
Iran is the adult in the room.
Thanks Kyle 👌
Shout out to Iran for being really chill about this and trying to avoid a war
They would not launch 300 missile on Israel if they want to avoid war
@@killermoon635 said missiles they gave a warning well in advance expecting Israel to do the obvious thing and intercept said missiles which they did. After that Iran was done until Israel decided to poke at them again
This is what happens when literal nazis are created by the previous hegemon and backed by the current one: mass murder, colonisation, genocide, disrespecting the sovereignty of their neighbors (some of which having unhinged leaders like iran or saudi). Decades into the future, our history books will record that we not only did not stop neo-nazis from pursuing their twisted geopolitical agenda, but some of us also backed them! And I'm not pointing at the US because it has more blood on its hands than even israel, but all those european nations with their own genocidal and colonial past and their ww1,2 trauma that said "never again" but then kept being the same world tyrants that they were in the past, just with a different startegy
Is the US the neo Nazi's 😮.
It is becoming obvious that Operation Paperclip brought a lot more into the US than has been advertised.
No matter what actually happened, it seems like the Iranian leaders are the only adults in this conflict. I wish the US had a strong leader right now that could tell Israel to stop
A much larger more powerful highly militarized fundamentalist dictatorship was just attacked twice by a tiny highly developed Western country for no good reason, and yet it was Iran who calmly took the high road. Crazy world we live in.
Thanks!
Israël has also nuclear sites and they know that the Iranians can also hit nuclear sites back
They don't want to have war, they just want to give each other anxiety attacks. It's a game of chicken.
Thanks Kyle
Thank you
Iran should do the right thing here, they were attacked so they have the right to defend themselves
They just did a big nothing just so they could have the last word. And for the news to say that Israel attacked back. That's how childish they are.
keep up the good work. professionals like your elf who give us truthful news are true journalists.
I believe in you Kyle! Keep the news coming 🙏🏼
remember, NOTHING EVER HAPPENS!
Iran has shown patience, resolve, and rationality for years. The western media will have you thinking differently. A lot of outlets are currently being very fair to them now. It's impossible to hide how well the Iranians have handled this so far.
Dont forget Gaza though.
Argentina court blames Iran for 1990s terror attacks on Israeli embassy,
Branding Islamic Republic a ‘terrorist state,’ ruling says Hezbollah carried out deadly bombings on Tehran’s orders, calls 1994 bombing of Jewish center a crime against humanity
Meanwhile in Iran…64-year-old Shahriar Bayat was sentenced to public hanging for "insulting the Prophet,"

Same.
That’s freedom of speech and democracy for you.
We all know who controls the media and narrative. It's hard to find the truth.
It happens to me with every Kyle Israel video. Gee, I wonder why?
Thank you Kyle : your information is so well received: I know you try to give us the truth: again thank you
there is video of the attack over the Isfahan where you can see multiple flashes in the sky one right after another. I am inclined to believe the Iranians on this one also the nut-bar Itamar Ben-Gvir also calling this attack "feeble" and "lame" puts me on the Iranian side even more.

I think the last scenario is the most believable - that this was all choreographed with all parties knowing what was going on, and done in a way so it can appear that everybody saves face. The only concern is what Norman Finklestein talked about in the interview with Glenn Greenwald last night, that based on past history going back to 1956 once Israel’s political class has decided that a war is necessary, they will keep escalating and provoking relentlessly until the war actually happens. This applies to 1967, 1982 and the various assaults on Gaza in the 2000s.
I really hope the entire world is watching this conflict with so many states involved and realize there are only one set of adults in the room.
When the Ayatollahs in _Iran_ are the only sane, level-headed ones in the room, you know avoidance of another global war is hanging by a thread.
