- If you have a Mercedes C class, E class , GLC GLE GLS or S class and experience a squeaking noise from the front when turning or going over a bump it will require new spring links đ. Quick video explaining the issue and how to check on your vehicle. Hope it helps, please give it a like if it has. Thank you

Your an absolute legend, I have exact same issue on my C220 Coupe.
I wasn't sure how to test a ball joint with a bar. Thanks for showing.
Glad it helped! đ
Had the same problem on our B class. Sounded like Barney rubble in a flintone car. Hypodermic needle, injected oil into the rubber boot, squeak gone. That was 2 years ago.
Appreciate that mateđđœ keep up the good work
Great video, thanks. C220 SW 2015 same problem
I can't understand how almost new cars will come with such a problem? Where are the days when mb was synonym of sustainability ans quality
Exactly my thought. My C300 just had the moonroof quit working 5k miles after the warranty. I was baffled by the amount of fragile plastics that crackled in pieces all over the mechanism.
Great video. Thanks for making it
My car has this!! Been driving me mad, when turning and when going over bumps itâs a nasty squeak/screech sound. Anyone know how much it should cost to replace?
Thank you for the video, as I just found it recently on my c class when turning. Could you advice if it is a safety issue that must be rectified asap? Or itâs okay to leave it for another year or so, if I donât mind the squeaky sound? Thanks!
Iâve never seen one fail to the extend of it being a safety issue as yet. Normally find slight play in the ball joint but noting excessive.
I have a 2015 S550. I donât see where I can just purchase ball joints without the entire assembly. Please advise
This is the exact problem My car has , i have a C 300 . how much would it cost me to get this problem fixed?
Thank you in advance , this video was very helpful
Enjoyed that video. That's a handy tool you have used for removing under tray, have you a model code or link to buy. Many thanks Ben
Thank you mate, itâs a Snap On CTS861GM , not sure if available on line. You may have to find your local snap on dealer đ
Thank you for letting me know
Nice one. Thanks. I'm about to change mine on my w213 e class over the Christmas break. Question though - can the original bolts be re-used or do they need to be replaced? I've seen both schools of thought represented on the internet. Ta!
I previously worked for a Mercedes dealership and we never replaced the bolts đ
@@godfreysautomotiveservices thanks so much for your insight. Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year đ
Hey, thanks for good video!
Do you reckon I can do this without removing cover panel and without lifting the car? Just using regular jack
Yes, a regular Jack would be fine. Removing the undertray will help you gain access to the bolt alot easier đ
Great video. I have the same issue but the car has just passed the MOT with no advisories and I've had a mechanic look at it and he said the sound is coming from the lower control arm but he can't see any play. Should I still replace it?
Personally I would replace it just to stop the noise. But if thereâs no play in the ball joint and passed the mot ok thereâs no reason to replace it if you didnât want too.
@@godfreysautomotiveservices Hi, thanks for the reply. I've got a quote from my local garage for ÂŁ460 all in with tracking, does this seem reasonable? I was considering doing it myself. Thanks for the support.
@@wodenuk6700 that would be about right with the wheel alignment I would say. There is no adjustment on the lower arm so you should get away with out any adjustments afterwards if you was to tackle it yourself đ
@@godfreysautomotiveservices Exactly, this mouse in a wheel with holes is louder than music
Thanks for sharing đđż
Can you get just replace the ball joint or does it have to be the full arm? Thanks
Full arm Iâm afraid
hi, great video! can you please tell me the torque for each bolt/nut when putting it back together?
thanks brođ
I have a similar issue where it squeaks badly whilst turning but no noise when pushing down on the wings. I spoke to my mechanic that added some grease the joints helped for about a week and now its worse than ever. Do I just need to replace the lower arm?
Yes buddy, replace arms to stop the noise
@@godfreysautomotiveservices thank you for replying
Wonderful video, Whatâs the part number?
What is the name of the part or parts that causes this. Just would like to know to see if my warranty covers it.
Lower suspension arm or spring link arm. Various different names for this component
Hi I have a question after the replacement do u have to calibrate the suspension sensor?đ
No calibrations required đ
@@godfreysautomotiveservices thanks for getting back to me , but the front wheels are not like before itâs a bit higher then before
@@didar389 hi, no problem. Thatâs strange, I havenât seen this before. Is yours on air front? Or steel?
@@godfreysautomotiveservices I think steel , but there is 1 angles sensor on a each side and itâs right up now I have asked someone mechanic and he said it need to be calibrated for like one hour
@@didar389 Iâm not too sure why it would be higher if on steel. The front level sensors would just be for the headlamps Iâm sure. Was the suspension arms identical to the old ones?
hey man I get a pretty bad squeek on my c300 2015 whenever I accelerate past 25MpH+⊠When iâm not accelerating as fast or braking the squeek disappears. Any thoughts?
There was a issue with the boot on the bottom on the steering column if I remember right. May be worth looking into đ
How much does these cost on an w213 e220 model?, I have both going on mine which is the same problem and noise
From memory we charge about ÂŁ200 per side for a aftermarket suspension arm fitted. Hope this helps đ
@@godfreysautomotiveservices thought it would, aftermarket ones an improvement are they ?
Replaced the lower control arm and it fixed the squeak noise. There is however a creaking or some sort of clunk that I can hear when steering and when going over bumps, any idea what this could be ?
Anti roll bar drop links. Cheap and easy to replace as a first point of fix to eliminate the noise
I have a 2021 GLE with 70,000klm is this a warranty fix or a regular service cost do you reckon?
You have a full warranty for all mechanical parts for up to 3 years, they have to do it for free.
@@m.s.183 thanks Iâll call it in.

just noticed this problem on the front left of my car whilst going over bumps
How much would this job cost?
My car makes this same noise and I hate it
How much does this service cost
I was quoted âŹ615 for one side from main MB dealer!
Anyone know uk garage cost to replace and fit?
Enka Motors, Unit C, 200 Willoughby Ln, London N17 0SQ
They are expert at Mercedes with the best price.
I was quoted ÂŁ1200 at a merc independent, hence why Iâm heređ that may have been for further work though but heard itâs not cheap either way
I am so pissed!! My 2011 Nissan doesnât even squeak like this.
Mine does it at 85 mph plus
I have this exact problem on my c250, youâre a hero
