Stay away from Chapman. If you want these "CZcams-born guitars", go for Solar. Solar is made on the same factory as Schecter, they both wear the IW-serial numbers. So they have that enough quality to back up. 👍
Wow a 14 ! I just picked up one of these on Reverb,, great price and beautiful, to look at, I originally had the intention of modding it a bit , changing out pickups and putting some Wilkinson Locking saddles on it, ( possibly some SS frets) but I may just leave it as is , that sounded great, with parallel and series the only complaints I’ve read about was tuning stability, anyway I hope your daughter enjoyed her Christmas present 🎁 nothing like a guitar for Christmas !
I honestly don’t think it needs any upgrades. Any non locking trem is gonna go out of tune if you treat it like a floyd! But id play it until you need a refret then do the stainless steel frets!
How is the tuning stability? I read some bad reviews about tuning issues and quality issues in general. I'm planning to block tremolo to avoid tuning issues and probably will also replace the bridge pickup.
Yes putting on a tusq nut and possibly converting to a Vega term will help immensely but that’s a chunk of change, if you don’t use the whammy bar a lot the tuning stability is great. However, if you treat it like a Floyd rose, it’s going out of tune.
Bought one of these a little over a week ago. Tuning stability or should I say lack there of is complete trash! Even after driving 3 hours to Nashville to have another set up done to it, it still won't hold tune. I love the neck on it and really want to like it but, can not get past the tuning instability...Maybe someone else will have better luck with it. 😒
Well make sure the nut is filed correctly, and 10’s instead of 9’s for strings but remember this isn’t a floyd so the whammy bar usage is gonna throw it out of tune.
@@Randyolsson It’s all good, my first thought was “yeah man im a luthier, it’s literally my job to care more about those things than my ability to play”
This guy does incredibly good work he did a refret on my 1973 Gibson SG standard.
Holding this guitar on my lap right now! Love it.
I’m getting this today! So effing stoked.
i like that you stood up, its stupid how rare that is on yt.i bought a chapman and its neck heavy and kills my whole vibe for the guitar.
Yeah the ormsby i had was neck heavy, makes it feel “cheap”

Just got this same one. Like that you demonstrated low tunings hopefully it’ll hold well on mine

So picky with the setup and the nut, but then you can barely play?
Oh im a much better luthier than guitar player 😉
@@orlandoluthier6167 I just re-read my message and came across as a total dick, sorry about that. Watched the whole video and enjoyed it.
