You forgot to mention that the guy who had the olive did so in hopes of turning into an olive tree after death.

Victor Harry Feguer was executed by hanging. He wanted to take the olive to the grave, he wanted a tree to grow. A symbol of peace.

My last meal was corned beef and mash potato. It was my last meal because I got out that day.

@@ivareskesner2019 never been to prison, but I've been to a mental hospital and rehab. It seems pretty similar to serving time for real though. No rights. No privacy. Strip searches. Wondering when you are going to get out. I never want to back. But I might need to. This pandemic fucked me up and I relapsed and im drinking again. It's not even helping or making me happy. Idk why im doing this to myself for real. Thanks for the kind words though man
@@msjkramey Yeah, I hear you. I've never been to either but I definitely have the same liquid problem as you. I think these restrictions have fucked a lot of people up. Hang in there. It's not just you. Don't put the blame entirely on your own shoulders. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm sure plenty of people are. It'll be alright.

That's exactly what I thought! This would be a great restaurant to have right next to the heart attack grill on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, decorate the place with electric chairs, gas chambers, hang Mans noose ... Have the waiters and waitresses dress like prison guard, set up the food on prison trays, and have the patrons wearing stripe prisoners uniforms, great idea for a restaurant in downtown Las Vegas 💯😎👍

Naa, John Wayne Gacy was a contractor, who put on the clown act for charity.
Yep, Pogo the Clown. He also did art for people while in prison. Self-portraits among others. The cover for the band Acid Bath’s debut album is done by him, their second album was done by Dr. Kevorkian
The clown thing wasn't his job..... he used to volunteer that for the neighborhood kids.

I don't know if the clown gimmick just made clowns even more creepy than they are... He gives clowns a really bad name.
The first person sentenced to death when the death penalty was reinstated was a man named Troy Greg. The night before his execution he escaped and ended up getting beaten to death in a bar fight.
I remember there was a slew of Law and Order NCIS-CSI shows where the guy on Death Row and would request a Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich.
Turns out the guy had a peanut allergy, and he'd killed himself before "THE MAN" could kill him...
I really like that restaurant idea....I could imagine it making the news as well. I would go if it happened...even if I do have to travel to another state. Make it real authentic. Offer a membership for discounts and assign prison numbers to those members. Maybe have a gift shop kind of like Cracker Barrel with a bunch of prison related items...Whole Shebang chips, Keefe coffee, etc...possibly some display items like the clear TVs, tablets, etc that prisoners were allowed to have.

I have often questioned Joe's business acumen, but his Last Meal Restaurant idea is quite good.
Themed restaurants aren't a new thing. But if the food isn't good then it will 100% fail and we all know joe can't cook anything other than prison food and he's not even good at that.

40 years after the federal moratorium, Timothy McVeigh was executed in 2001 for masterminding the 1995 Murrah Federal Building bombing.
Thank you for your comment. McVeigh could have appealed his death sentence for many more years but he chose not to.

My dad grew up and was close friends with Ronnie lee Gardner, never met him but his brother came to my fathers funeral in 2012.
Serve some spreads at that restaurant as well.

Hate to break it to you Joe, but eating in a prison cell was thought of long ago. It's biggest in Asia, specifically Japan. But, I'm sure there's one not too far from where you are. At least most big cities in the USA have one

Angie Christensen Calaboose Grille in Owego NY is one. Another called Clink at The Liberty Hotel in Boston MA. Another called Prizon Bar in Koreatown Los Angeles CA. Another called Cellblock Steakhouse in Ely NV. But once again, this is much bigger in Asia. Search youtube and you'll find plenty of videos on the experience
Hominy is a grain that looks like corn, but has larger kernels and is very starchy. That’s what they make grits out of. But you can eat it whole also.

Victor wanted an olive with the pit as his last meal because he thought that when he was put to death a buried with the olive pit inside him. The pit would germinate grow out of his body , become an olive tree , and that way Victor would live again threw the tree! And possibly forever as a tree!😊

It's probably already been mentioned, but the prison themed restaurant sounds like a really good idea. In fact, with the pandemic going on, the jail cells will probably help keep different parties at a distance from each other. You might consider making the "Last Meal" options as specials that change on a daily or even weekly basis to encourage repeat customers. The rest of the menu might consist of improved versions of typical prison food (or tasty meals made to look similar to prison foods.)

Would be a cool restaurant idea for old prisons cause a lot of old prisons get tours. Could you imagine one put on the rock of Alcatraz or the site of some other historic prisons.

The restaurant idea won't work. aside from the fact its been done in several countries and failed rather quickly, most businesses fail in less than a year when set up by professionals that are knowledgeable in the restaurant industry. Its high investment, very high risk, very low reward. starting a restaurant is one of the worst investments a person can make

You should've done a snippet on the man who instituted the ban on chosen last meals in Texas, Lawrence Russell Brewer. He ordered a shit ton of food, but when the food arrived, he refused to take a single bite, saying he wasn't hungry.
The restaurant idea is brilliant one word of advice save all the cash you can until you are big enough to maybe beat out the food vendors who feed the jail and become a top vendor for jails and prisons that be epic

There was a guy by the name of Thomas J. Grasso who requested Spaghetti-O's as part of his last meal which also consisted of two dozen steamed mussels, two dozen steamed clams (flavored by a wedge of lemon), a double cheeseburger from Burger King, a half-dozen barbecued spare ribs, two strawberry milkshakes, one-half of a pumpkin pie with whipped cream and diced strawberries. One of the last statements he made before his demise was that he was given spaghetti instead and wanted the press to know this.
Your new business venture idea sounds interesting. I'd definitely eat there. Alot of these last meals sounds good.

Fun fact: when you commit a crime and they give you the death penalty. They don't give you your last meal before you are executed. They give you your last meal about 3 or 4 days before to prepare for your execution. So what ever you eat the day of your scheduled execution is actually your last meal for real. Not what you asked for your last meal 3 or 4 days before you are executed.
You should start a prison party company putting on prison theme parties for kids birthdays, Corporate events, adults party’s and etc. people can where inmate clothing, eat prison food and play prison themed games

I remember a bit of Ricky Ray's story. His case had a bit of a controversy. He ended up with a head wound that decrease his I.Q. along with memory loss and brain damage pre-death row. He ended with more of a child like personality which is why he believed he could save his pie for latter. In the end he didn't even understand his situation or that he would die that day. You can see his head wound scar in pic featured.
