My mother in law has had the procedure done twice in NJ and didn’t work. She is now bleeding tears. Now they will do something with a ceramic tube which is worse.

My some these comments really scary. I had make a decision on my tear duct surgery by June 1 and it seems every comment is bad. Wish knew the right procedure to go with that's really going to work I've been miserable I don't want to go through it twice

I have had the stent since 2011, it's been a little over 10 years. The doctor decided to leave it in because the first surgery I had the stent was removed and my eye kept tearing. Now it's bothering me and it keeps itching and tearing, any possibilities that I won't have any tears if it's removed after 10 years?

I had a DCR procedure on each eye. But after the Stent was removed from one side, it collapsed back down. I found a new occuloplastic surgeon in Seattle & he did a revision & it worked. My understanding is the stents aren't meant to be permanent. I'd definitely find a new surgeon for a consult. @sweetlatina

Were you offered to get mitomycin instead of a stent to prevent fibrosis and help keep the pathway open?

What happens if this is not resolved? Are you becoming blind?
