Fun fact: House of the Dead Overkill set a Guiness World Record for the most amount of F-Bombs in media (189)
Is this still p to date?! o.o
*Spoiler Alert*

It's funny when Washington keep saying motherfucker but when he saw a legit MF, he didn't say a word about it.
@@JibzCastor don't spoil the ending!
@@RyanAggabao ... Sorry :(
Truly living up to it's name
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is the sequel to Umbrella Chronicles
And its better
The House of the Dead 2 & 3 collections are also great, and surprisingly cheap now. Shame they couldn't get the arcade version of the first game, but the source code has been lost to time
No it hasn't. It's on the internet
@@peter0071000 are you talking about the source code or rom? Because if it is the source code, where can you find it?
House of the Dead 2-3
I wish they make Time Crisis 1-4 for the Wii
Brian DuBose the cover pedals would be a problem, though. To counter this, I’d probably make them use the GameCube jacks on top of the Wii corresponding to the player.
Nuke Dukem That could be a good compromise. Maybe the pedals could still be buyable, but unnecessary. Just for people who want the authentic arcade feel (like myself)
Not sure why he didn't mention HotD 2 and 3. It's a great faithful port to the arcade games. Found it more satisfying than the Resident Evil games. I made a bad call with those. Probably more accurate on the PS3.
I really feel you are doing Ghost Squad a disservice by not mentioning it allows 4-player simultaneous co-op play. I mean that's unheard of, and it is SO much fun when you have four people.
Ghost squad is one of the best games on the Wii.. can't believe he didn't mention it .
FYI Metal Jesus,
Darkside Chronicles (2009) and Umbrella Chronicles (2007) are two different games. Both are on the Wii and PS3.
Umbrella covers RE: Zero, 1, and Nemesis.
Darkside covers RE:2 and Code Veronica.
You should get the Darkside one too.
I heard Darkside was better than Umbrella
@@Michael37476I like them both a lot🤷♂️
Lots of great games here. That Resident Evil one looks soooo House of the Dead. Gotta go and get a lot of these now.
Umbrella Chronicles is absolutely one of the best games made for the Wii, though I believe they've received PS3 ports just like Overkill.
Also, MJR, I'm surprised, you being a PC gamer too, you didn't mention Typing of the Dead: Overkill when you brought up the Wii version! What it loses in the solid motion controls department it makes up for with hilarious Typing of the Dead humor and Shakespeare. And, if you still wanna just shoot some zombies, you can play the regular game via mouse too, so there's that.
A better Resident Evil on-rail shooter (in my humble opinion) is Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Seeing Claire's butt it's priceless, and you see it a lot.
House of the Dead Overkill
... grindhouse style!
There's actually 2 of them on the Wii u... This one and the sequel dark side... Both are great!
Omar Enrique I always wanted to try Darkside Chronicles, but I've never so much as seen a physical copy of the dang thing! It's probably the only way I'd ever experience the storyline of RE4 too: I never could make it past the chainsaw guy in the first town on the Game Cube, Wii, or the PS2.
This video completely hypes me up on those old games I used to love shoving quarters in when I was younger. I'm a beginning collector and most of these will definitely be going on my "Want List". You always bring obscure/underrated games on your videos and that is why I subscribed a while back.
Duncadelic
P.S. I'm completely jealous of your EarthBound donation. What and awesome gift!
Arcade style light gun shooters have been my favorite since I was a kid playing the actually arcade machines with my dad. I agree the wii does have great light gun games!!! This is actually what drew me to the wii in the first place. Another game that I think is a hidden gem is the nerf gun game. My brother and I use to play it over and over and it's great for kids so a plus. The other resident evil, and house of the dead games are great too. Probably my favorite were... Shoot forgot the name... But is was an arcade machine in the late 90s. It was those police games with the real people standing up in the graphics. They made wii games that still had that cheesy was but still fantastic games!!! XD
Great video! Can't forget the House of the Dead 2 & 3 collection. Keep these great games coming and thanks for showing the continued love for the Wii!
Dead Space Extraction is awesome light rail game, especially if you are a fan of Dead Space.
House of the dead 2-3. Oh I miss playing house of the dead 2 on my dreamcast thanks to not having a crt tv anymore. Thanks to the wii I can play it again in 720p. Happy days.
ROFL I love how his video's make me want to play these on-rails shooters even though I really dislike the genre. His enthusiasm is contagious.
Great Video. One of my favorite On-Rail shooters was from the Die hard trilogy game Die Hard 2. I especially like how the environment was kind of interactive, how you just could destroy everything and make a complete mess of the whole game. Furthermore I always felt that the whole Die Hard trilogy game was such an underrated game.
is that on the Wii, Tho?
@@ryanjackson7387 No but he's sharing what light gun game he loves the best .. it's good to share lol
Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles was also released on the Wii. Brilliant game
I really like you're hidden gem videos. I found a couple of them real cheap in thrift stores because no one knew about them. Great job, can't wait to see what other gems you have found.
Sin & Punishment 2 might just be the best game on the Wii.
Congrats for the 150k subs. You deserve it. You produce great informative/entertaining videos of our hobbies.
I'm really glad that you did this video. I too really enjoy these on-rail shooters on my wii. Awesome games, awesome video! :)
Speaking of light gun games, the snes and genesis (and maybe nes) emulators that you can run on the wii support the wiimote in place of the light gun. Playing through snatcher on the sega cd emulator on a big modern TV is a total blast!
Thanks! This video will kickstart my Wii collection for sure.
I love that you made this video! I've been obsessed with light gun games for the past year and was even hitting up gamestop grabbing a lot of these light gun shooters for the Wii for 2-3 bucks. Even have the big red buck shot gun to play them, but i still love an actual light gun with a CRT a lot more. Favorite light gun systems were Ps1 and Ps2. You can play Time Crisis games (all of them) and Gunfighter legend of Jesse james with a steering wheel with pedals plugged in the 2nd port and use it as a pedal in the game! Very Satisfying.
HOD: Overkill is awesome! Great list!
I just got a Wii and your hidden gems videos have been a godsend in helping me to build a decent library... thanks again!!
Why did you not mention House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, Metal Jesus?
He did mention it. Just didn't showcase it. Think it's because hotd2&3 is a game everyone knows is awesome. So he saved a space for somethin else
perfect!!! i just got my wii guns, this video helps a bunch! great reviews as always
thank you so much mate for making this video because the wii is my fave console ever and its always great finding new games to play and enjoy ty
Overkill is by far the best console rail shooter I've played but my favorite arcade game is either Time Crisis 2, Crisis zone or Police 24/7. If you ever see the initials JAW in England or France that's me.
Jim Giant My fave arcade games were Time Crisis 2 And HOTD 1 & 4. Home Ports were probably Ghost Squad as well as HOtD 2&3. Besides, there are two new On-Rails Arcade games coming out soon. House Of The Dead: Scarlet Dawn and Halo: Fireteam Raven.
Great vid man im glad u put gunblade in there thats one of my fav rail shooters that ive played :)
Just bought dead space extraction again in 2020 and play it on the wii u. This game was just great.
Picked up *Sin & Punishment: Star Successor* yesterday from my friend's game store because I remembered it being mentioned in this video. Thanks MJR!
Thank you for bringing some great lightgun wii games to light :D
Awesome video, this is a good subject for you to talk about. Most of these look pretty fun. Sin and Punishment is damn tough. Both of them
house of the dead II and III. is pretty fun.
NO, it's awesome!
GrimbelFrixx Oh hell yeah!
MetalJesus- I got introduced to your channel a couple months ago and have to say it is very entertaining. Great job on all your vids. Can't go wrong with a video game nut like yourself who also likes Dream Theatre.
Glad to see Wii videos! I agree with Reggie, Target Terror is definitely a good value at $3-$5 at Gamestop. Love the on-rail genre.
Darkside chronicles (RE) is actually the sequel to umbrella chronicles and it's also on wii. House of the dead 2 and 3 are classics and also on wii and a little know gem of a game: disaster day of crisis! It mixes some genres but the most used is light gun action.
jason i'm surprised to not see the game Western Hereos in your video, bye the way love your videos you make, keep up the good work happy new year to you all
Great video! The Wii certainly had its strengths and rail shooters was one of them.
MetalJesusRocks Just an FYI in case someone hasn't already mentioned it. Dead Space Extraction was also included with Dead Space 2 on PS3 :) with PS Move support
Awesome, thanks for the tips, I have Ghost Squad, I need to pick some more of these up!:)
Finally diving in for the first time on Wii light gun shooters. First place I go for advice and ideas, Metal Jesus!
Great video, as always. :) Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, for the Wii of course, also had an enjoyable on-rail shooter mode.
This video is really old but I'll still comment:
A) As many people said, Darkside is actually the sequel to Umbrella Chronicles
B) There was a special edition for The House of the Dead Overkill which came with the "Hand Cannon", basically a better version of the Wii Zapper, don't wanna spoil too much, google it. There aren't many vids on youtube about it, so if you ever read this comment and manage to get your hands on one of those, I'd love to see you unboxing/reviewing/toying around with that thing
Metal Jesus you rock!
Resident Evil had another on rail shooter series called Survivor on the playstation that used the g-cons. They were awesome, they had some really interesting boss fights. Highly recommended.
that game where if you don't look at the enemies they can't hurt you?
But the GunCon compatibility only applied to Japan and Europe. The American version had this feature removed because Capcom wanted to avoid bad publicity following the Columbine Massacre which made people accuse violent video games for the shooting
This video is amazing love it bro cheers from Niagara Falls Canada love me some on rail shooters on Nintendo wii
Awesome. I love Railshooters, and the Wii is still a very underrated console.
sin and punishment might be a little too awesome
I fondly remember player Gunblades NY in the arcade, it had huge machine gun controllers that vibrated so much that my arms used to go numb after extended play; good times
And here's something interesting about the arcade version, the guns are actually the same guns used in 1993's Alien³: The Gun, albeit without the grenade button. Same deal with LA Machine Guns
You made a very cool and interesting video !
Thank you for it, I own some of them and I will probably add one or two in my list.
Leaving the mini Atari in the intro is pretty funny
Out of the games you mentioned, i only own sin and punishment star successor. I haven't had much of a chance to play many wii games but it still amazes me the amount of arcade compilation that the system has for a variety of different game genres.
thanks for the great job doing this video!
Sin & Punishment 2 is my favorite game on the Wii. It's so much more than just on rail shooter. It's also on sale in Wii U eShop.
Good thing we found these Miniguns!
I really enjoyed the a dead Space on rail game released for the Wii. It was an amazing story, gory, actually great graphics and played well on the Wii system.
INCREDIBLE! I'm hyped I watched this video bcuz I wouldn't know of sin and punishment! truly a very unique game and style like no other genre!!!
dude, I did NOT know Mad Dog was on the Wii, thats epic. I had this on the sega cd. so much fun. Thanks for the tip man.
House of the Dead Overkill was a blast. Especially playing with a buddy and having a beer. Really fun.
OMG. I just pick up house of the dead overkill. For 1 in box for $1. Here in PR. Gunna play it now thank you Jesus. Luv ur channel
Loves these games too. Big part of what I enjoyed the Wii so much. You'll probably like Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles on Wii too, it takes you into the Resident Evil 2 & Code Veronica parts of he story. There is also The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return which gives you both 2 & 3 on the one disc for Wii.
Played The House of the Dead Overkill for the first time yesterday and love it. I was never aware of lightgun games on the Wii.
Great video, I was a huge fan of Light Gun games growing up. I loved playing Virtua Cop 1/2, Area 51 and Maximum Force on my Saturn! Will have to check some of these out.
Great! Thx a lot. There are not many shooters like those on PC. Happy to have a Wii, best of all consoles!
outstanding video I really enjoyed it
This channel is great
One I haven't really seen much of, but definitely a hidden gem is Martian Panic. While it's not graphically impressive, I played a lot of when I had my wii and I definitely had a lot of fun with it.
I know I've played Gunblade a couple of times in my local theater back in the day. Heck, I remember even going to the place for one reason alone. To play the game on the date it takes place. I believe it was July something 2005.
I'm fairly sure that the version I played there looked a bit more... 32Xish... You know. Less texture and more of a origami look. But the levels were the same.
iv been seeing sin and punishment on the shelves, even in the WiiU section, i was on the fence until i saw this gameplay. im going to buy it now. thanks MJ!
Me and my friend always boot up House of the Dead II & III on the Wii. Always a fun time. I'll have to grab some of those On-Rail Shooters, they look fun.
I like the new icons with the games' name and publisher, very cool looking.
PrimeVinyl Thanks for noticing. I've been playing around with some animation software lately. Just to jazz things up a bit.
Darkside chronicles is the sequel, and also on wii. Umbrella Chronicles was a rail shooter version of 1, 3, and 0. Darkside has 2, Code Veronica, and a spinoff to 4.
I have all these games, except for the Mad Dog one and I keep my wii just to play on rail shooters from time to time. Thats really were wii shines. House of the dead overkill is easily the best one.
Metal Jesus, don't forget about House of the Dead 2 and 3 on the Wii in that rerelease. Those are really fun to play with a Wii Zapper.
Gunslingers is a fun, breezy on-rail shooter that is a fun multi-player...lots of constant shooting and solid controls. Very easy for the family to pick up and play for a few hours.
No love for Attack of the Movies 3D and Dino Strike? Two amazing and totally underrated games on the Wii. Please play it!
Ghost Squad is really fun!
I honestly didn't know that House of The Dead: Overkill was based on "grindhouse" style movies...I love those movies!! I need to track down a copy!
hello from Britain England really like your vids about 3/4s way through them all cant get enough lol. need more i hate yous though ha ha. keep up the good work, ive just started to collect myself using your idea of yard sales we call them carboot sales over the pond anyways im rambling, keep up the good work Eddie
Links Crossbow Challenge.
Great on rails shooter/mini game. You get a decent holster for the Wiimote too.
You missed "Attack of the Movies 3D" looks like shovelware, but no. pretty good.
i have played all of these and all are very good. you hit it right on the NOSE! good job dude
Dead Space Extraction was my favorite on rail shooter on the Wii. Great game!
Just gotta say, thanks for the tips on these hidden gems! You are so right, now is a perfect time to buy some great games on the wii, thanks to you I have tripled(!) my wii library, and the only game I payed over $9 for was Little Kings Story. You do indeed rock, and thanks for the great content! I consider elebits as a light gun game, love that one!
omg, i used to play mad dog mcree in arcade and totally forgot about it. total flash back seeing that cowboy full of arrows!
There was House of the Dead 2 and 3 packaged together on the wii which were solid games. in 3 you reload by cooking the wii and nunchuck like a pump action shotgun which felt really satisfying
Great video MJR. Will be checking some of these titles out. House of the dead overkill is awesome on the wii. On PS3 its in 3d and looks stunning.
Thanks, Recently got myself a Wii. then I wanted a gun for it. Today I found the Star Wars blaster gun and got it, now I need some games. I have just bought 3 of these games thanks to your vid :D ty
Yo Metal Jesus I was watching your Wii hidden gems vid and saw ghost squad which looked great, so I googled "wii rail shooters" and viola! took me right back to Metal Jesus videos haha
on that note I miss Silent Scope... :(
9-15-19 Bought Ghost Squad CIB at Gamestop for 2.91$ Loving It!
There are 2 "Chronicles" games in the Resident Evil series for the Wii. The PS3 collection just includes both of them with upscaled HD visuals.
From what i heard the controls alot better
Thank you. Great video!
I remember first hearing about the Nintendo Revolution and its controls, my initial reaction was, "Oh yeah, arcade shooters would be great on this thing!"
However, I think it took a while for good ones to come out.
I'm crazy for this genre. Saving this video for later
I quite liked the resident evil games on the wii. Great video, thanks.
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles is the sequel to Umbrella Chronicles and it is also on the Wii where it came out first, it features a main original plot (Instead of the original plot in UC being at the end) and sub plots that represent the older games (2 and Code Veronica). It is really good.
The Raving Rabbids series is composed of a lot of different minigames, but the first two (and maybe the third one, but I never really played it much) have some really fun on-rail shooting segments. I wouldn't recommend them solely based on that, but if you like minigame collections like that (I do), and you like on-rail shooters, you're in for a treat.
Interestingly, the second one's on-rail segments incorporate live action footage the way the Mad Dog McCree series did, but only for the backgrounds. The actual targets you're trying to hit are all added over top of them. It's neat.
Metal MF Jesus!! Thanks for the vid.. collecting these as I watch this.
I got Ghost Squadron, the best part that I love is if you finnish stage 2 the right way you get to Hi Five the President, such a good game.
Hod overkill is hillarious and fun, even for people who don't play games but you would like them to, on co-op you can plow thru it
Thanks I bought Ghost squad the other day. Hope to receive it tomorrow.
