I'm going through the top 20 Favorite Video Game Songs of all time as voted on by my community. This came in at number 13!
Here we are again. Like Gerudo Valley, I've done this one twice before now and this time I really wanted to capture the original better than I ever have. I really leaned into getting all of the parts right and included all of the elements, especially the ones I missed out on in previous covers like the subtle background ska chords. In previous covers, I've opted to take a more metal approach, but I really dialed the rhythm guitars back in distortion to try an only have them uplift the parts rather than be a focal point.
Many of you already know I have been speedrunning this game on Twitch for years and it still remains my favorite to run. I hope those of you who've watched some of my streams will look back at the fun memories of getting sub 20 or sub 1hr, and for those of you that didn't know, I'm currently speedrunning Pokemon Red as of making this video, so feel free to stop by!
This is obviously a very important song to me, having just last year getting a huge Mario 64 Princess Peach tattoo on my right arm because of it's significance to my life. I poured a lot into this one so I really hope you enjoy listening!

Yo, that last part where you mashed up the Bob-omb battlefield music almost had me faint, like the music was already hitting me in the heart, and that bit just made my brain explode into space...

this is the kind of music that completes a credits scene
credits scenes alone are already nice and all, some show you your journey and what you managed to do, others just celebrate you beating the final boss/level or similar, and some just play nice music that makes you almost tear up, and perhaps even remix music you heard earlier in the game
in the end, all credits scenes and themes are awesome

Love this theme, was the first end credits theme I ever got to hear. Always get an emotional rush hearing it, massive waves of nostalgia coming from this one. And the Windows 98 screen in the back is a nice nostalgic cherry on top for the era when this game was in its prime. Very well done Jules, thanks for pleasing our ears as always.

This is nostalgic to me for 2 reasons. First for your original cover, how could one forget! Secondly because I remember the day I first heard this song in-game after spending all night as a kid trying to beat Bowser. This song will forever be cemented as a core memory for me.

3:02 I never imagined I’d hear SM64’s main theme set to the chords from Pachelbel’s Canon. The only thing more surprising is that it actually works. O__O
While listening to this extremely good cover I think I realized why this song has a special place in my heart and my mind. I was 9 years old when me and my brothers got an N64. It was our second console, after the NES. Which means, I think, that Super Mario 64 was the first game I ever actually beat. No wonder this song just randomly appears in my head from time to time.
