Has anyone noticed that Seth Rollins is now the Joaquin Phoenix Joker. The laugh, the interpretive dance moves, the gaudy suit, it's all there.
They even chanted "Harley Quinn" at him a few months ago when he had a white red and black suit on. It's definitely all very Joker.
Yup. Reminded me of Joker Sting in TNA that was actually pretty good.
More like Heath Ledger. When he was on the floor laughing at Roman it was almost identical to Heath Ledger's Joker laughing at Batman in the interrogation scene.
He dances and laughs like Phoenix but goes nuts like Ledger. Pat even referred to him acting like a joker during the entrance. I love it
Yes and its fucking terrible !!!!
I thought the chair thing was referencing Seth's betrayal
It Def was. But also i think moxley got revenge on Seth the same way
@@FFmaxxx didn’t.
I was there and this was hands down the best match of the night. The crowd was very into these two guys, loved it.
Only good match of the night I feel bad for people who went to that ppv. Easily the worst rumble in the last decade
In a land filled with diabolical transitions, Brian managed to finally do one seamlessly!
That match was easily the best one of the night. Seth Rollins is becoming my favorite wrestler to watch with his feud with Edge this year and now Reigns
Think Jim missed the idea behind the chair shots. It was done because Rollins did it to Reigns to end the Shield. Reigns yelling “he wont let me let go” during the guillotine I feel was Reigns saying Rollins keeps bringing up the Shield days and Reigns is trying to let that part of his career go. If you listen to Roman, before he started hitting Seth with the chair, he told him “you took a piece of me, and I need to get it back.” I didn’t care for the DQ finish myself, but I understood the story as a whole and why shit was done. I thought it went great and I’d absolutely love to see them do it again. Either guy could walk out with the strap and I’d be cool with it.
Spot on!
I'm sure you're right. I didn't know how the Shield fell out or the story behind it so I'd not have picked up on it any more than Jim would have. I do kinda wonder if it mightn't have benefited the finish to have the announcers remark on that history during the chair shots....or did they?
@@Jackalblade9 If I’m being totally honest, I believe it was shown in the video package before the match. If the announcers had called it I think it would’ve come across as a bit too on the nose.
hearing a lot of people missing the spot idea
Jim missed the point?! No way! Tell me more!
that transition of running him over with the car into the autoparts advertisement was perfect lol
Forgot about that sponsor for once I didnt see it coming 😅
Some clueless marks think a match with a DQ finish "can never be good."
LOL. This match says otherwise. Solid storytelling right here.
The same marks criticizing it for being a DQ finish are the same ones who’d bitch and moan if Roman won clean cause “It would a burial of Rollins! They ended the program too quickly and Rollins has lost his credibility!” This match was just the start of their renewed feud, and for all the crap WWE put out that night I for one am looking forward to Rollins/Reigns again.
Only complaint that I had with this finish was that we saw it 8 days before on Smackdown with Nattie and Aliyah, and 5 days before with Priest and Owens... Law of Diminishing Returns... Booking 101: DON'T use a finish for a headlining PPV match on free tv repeatedly before the PPV.
@@kurtpaulsen6579 Booking 101 is literally the opposite of what you just said. Using that finish repeatedly kept it fresh in casual fans minds that WWE is actually enforcing this rule. It would be even better if they did it all the time.
@@bigfella6898 Like the surprise roll-up finish? Only 190 or so of those last year...
@@kurtpaulsen6579 You do realize that AEW does that even more often than WWE, right?
Hey now, Lillian Garcia was a excellent ring announcer. I always liked the way she said Moll-EHHH Holl-EHHHH.
She was the last good female announcer.

@Jeff Alicia Taylor
Lillian was no Mike mcguirk...
@@davyjones2032 nah I don’t like her she sounds like she’s constantly singing
The finish made 100% sense. It showed the mind games worked. And then Reigns recreated the attack Rollins did when he broke up the Shield initially, which was part of the mind games Rollins was playing with.
I do not understand how hard that was to see, the did everything but spell it out for us and put subtitles up on the screen.
Because Jim wasn't watching when the Shield was a group.
@@ernestcolemantheking I'm more concerned with the people that were that either didn't get it or are purposely gaslighting themselves and others
@@randylynch4330 Yeah same, Bunch of AEW fans coming to the rescue of their boring video game wrestling product.
@@ernestcolemantheking yea its pretty bad sometimes. Like on Raw, Rollins came down all gingerly, sat down all slow, grimaced when he moved his one shoulder, and then Meltzer and Alvarez said he didn't sell the attack....i was like ummmm was he supposed to come down in a wheelchair? No worse community than that section of the wrestling community. "Don't believe your lying eyes" types.
@@randylynch4330 I never really cared for Meltzer opinion because he just one guy with his own likes and dislikes. But it's good someone selling something in this era.
So when Moxley has a mean fight game face it bad. But when CM punk comes to a match looking ready for a fight that's great.
Clearly if Cornette has decided he likes you, or if he's decided he hates you, the same compliment can be a criticism arbitrarily.
Are you comparing Mox with Punk? 🤣
That pretty much sums up Jims takes, if you cant wrestle you cant be on Tv and expose the business, except if you are Ronda...
@@avinabbaruah9026 why not? They worked together in wwe for some time and they know each other from years.
Yes that's always how Jim is. The people he likes he gives praise or fair criticism. The people he doesn't like he buries personally or only gives them credit after mentioning something stupid they did. To be fair Punk just has pissed off facials. Moxley does shoulder rolls and throws chairs all over the place lol.
@@avinabbaruah9026 I KNEW it. I knew when I posted that comment, at least one of the absolute dregs, one of the simpiest of the simps was going to take the bait and defend Cornette's perspective. Now we all see you Avinab! Yes, I'm comparing the two. If you're not aware, which you probably aren't, Punk wanted MOX in the Shield faction as his goons back in WWE, so Punk likes Mox a lot too.
Lmao why are the ad spots usually the most outrageous thing ever? Damn son 🤣
I liked this match especially Seth Rollins coming out to the SHIELD theme; the crowd went nuts for that. This had good psychology mainly because the both of them were part of the SHIELD and were familiar with one another. There's nothing wrong with a disqualification finish just to retain a championship but I just think that part of the match could have been done better. 4/5
You mark out for "cosplay"... but disliked the finish... despite all being the SAME PSYCHOLOGY??
1: Seth sowed seeds of doubt in Roman's mind during his Smackdown
2: Mind games by wearing "SHIELD" attire

I liked the Rollins / Cesaro beef last year.
Let's not forget the man is a new father too. He's very underated. But, that's probably due to his booking and the fact he is usually involved on TV all the time. Ha.
I thought the same thing, man I miss Howard Finkel. Wwe announcers are brutal. I liked the match and honestly I kinda wanna see more of reigns vs rollins.
They should've had Road Dogg do their ring announcing. I mean he used to basically mimic Michael Buffer in his DX/New Age Outlaws schick.

The AEW roster needs to watch this match and TAKE NOTES. Storytelling masterclass from entrances to post-match angle.
Absolutely. I think the heel gimmick Omega tried to do is what Seth is pulling off way better. I sort of wanted this to be the Mania title match. Even if Roman was going to win still would be great. I also thought was actually cool Smackdown last week ended with those two and then Rampage began with Moxley.
MJF vs Darby was better. Omega vs Danielson, hangman vs Danielson
Wrestling has greatness on both sides. I love it
I can never call this a masterclass it was very cringey with rollins talking and also laughing after the spear, complete spotfest. For a masterclass watch something like taker vs angle at no way out
AEW doesn’t have enough history yet to pull off something like this, what could they really call back to?
Know what they could have done to end this match in a better way? Play Dean ambrose music to distract Seth, Roman comes in and hits him with the chair the exact same way Seth hit Roman back in the day. DQ, Roman shows he's just as clever as Seth. Same result, slightly better finish.
Didnt like the DQ finish. This would’ve been better
AEW needs a manager. A type that no matter who is the champ, he’s the one that actually holds the belt itself. Hulk Hogan’s greatest adversary was Bobby Heenan.
What in the world
This is actually a good idea. Your comment went over people's heads it looks like unfortunately.
aew being brought up during any wwe talk just shows that the wwe is better and it’s not even good. That’s how bad the aew is
WWE isn’t bad at all. They’re simply prisoners of their own success.
Send tazz
I enjoyed the shield entrance. Seth was the mind fuck at its finest here. What it didn't like was the ref slick puttin Seth's hand on the ropes for the finish.
He raised it to see if it dropped. If he dropped he would lose.
I loved the finish. It made sense that Roman was actually starting to believe that he really couldn't beat Rollins fair and square, so he got desperate and got himself DQ'd. I would've been pissed if he just choked him out and left, but he choked him out for over a minute after the bell rang and then savagely beat him with a chair. You can tell that Cornette is really just finding something to be angry about, no matter how good a segment/match is.
WWE haters gonna hate on WWE
Its because of the thing when seth turned his back on reigns & moxley with the chair so roman's been holding that in this whole time
Made me think of when rollins hit roman back in the authority days and that one fan screamed NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Like it was some action movie where the heros partner or wife gets killed in the beginning 🤣
Ending was smart. Kept Roman as champ for WM and planted more seeds for another feud because Roman still hasn't beaten Seth

Yessir. Dude is legit. The suits and the fur coats and suits top it off. The Elimination Chamber WWE title match should be a good one.
But Reigns Brock Ronda abd Bad money were the money majers in the Rumble. Seth Lashley and his wife Becky did'nt drew a dime.
Reigns is 🚮🚮🚮
I think Seth gets overshadowed by his contemporaries far too often
This match was perfect storytelling wise including the finish to those who have followed SHIELD's history in WWE. The subtle dialogues by Reigns and Rollins in between and especially the ones towards the end of the match by Reigns was perfect. As i said only those who've followed SHIELD'S history would get it.
Would've been perfect if it was leading to another match lmfao but considering we're getting Brock vs Roman at Mania and Seth's in the chamber seems like we're not getting a rematch which means that finish was fucking retarded
"Turn the lights off!" Has happened at a few wwe events one being a fucking Wrestlemania.
The match was great, easily best of entire show. I wouldn't mind the DQ ending, but the other title match between Lashley and Lesnar had a ref bump, so that's two title matches with no clean ending. And then Brock wins the Royal Rumble. I would really want to see the storyline go further between Seth and Reigns, but how credible is it gonna be if we all know Reigns and Lesnar are meeting in the Mania?
Rollins might cost Roman the title at Mania. Then their storyline can continue
Lashley and Lesnar started out really good in that it looked like a real competitive match ..... but then it all went to hell in a handbag .... I think a big part of the problem is 2 Royal Rumble matches on one show just takes away too much time for the other singles matches so they start out good and then end too quickly and on a low note .... I really didn't understand the point of Lynch vs Doudrop other than maybe Vince wanting a big female heel to replace Nia Jax but that obviously didn't work
Roman vs Seth vs Brock at Mania will be awesome. Imagine this, back in 2014, both men were an obstacle for Reigns to overcome. Brock was the champion, and Seth was a MITB holder. And he failed to overcome them both.
Fast forward 8 years. 8 FUCKING YEARS. Roman is the fucking mountain to be overcome. Seth and Brock are coming to get Roman at WrestleMania. Imagine the fucking story. The match that lasted just about 3 minutes at Mania, now gets to main event their second one with arguably more time. Three men at their career prime. Nothing would top it.
If Brock wins, which he wouldn't, it would be anti climatic. But if Seth wins, it tells a poetic story of how Seth screws Roman at Mania once again. If Roman wins, he overcomes both of them finally and end the story that started 8 years back.
@@unfazedmotivator Can't believe it's been that long, there hasn't been a better ending of Mania since then.. Unless im forgetting something but I don't believe I am.. The one the year after I think Rollins was hurt and it was just bleh because I believe it was the one everyone was hurt and HHH had to get strap at RR to drop to roman.. One after that was the awful ending with taker and Roman.. 34 was just a finisher paradise with Roman and Brock and lesnar threw the belt at vince.. then the all women 3 way main event ehhh... I don't think they would do this story line though
@@UFBear15 Idk if it's just me but Roman vs HHH was great. Fans just like to shit on something, remember what fans did to Amazing Spiderman? Then years later we realize how good that movie was. I admit WWE was so bad in 2015, but Roman and Dean vs The Authority was the most famous narrative back in the day. There was dynamic all over the place.
Roman vs Taker at Mania is my favourite match of all time. Idk but it's stupid to watch a wrestling match and when a move doesn't go the way I ended, we call it a botch. For me a botch is more like no selling, or referee mistake count etc, or the Black Mass on Lars Sullivan. If anything, Undertaker's bad moves only made the match feel more real. And it was emotional.
I admit the women's main event and Roman vs Lesnar 2 was fucking awful. And Drew vs Brock was too short. Roman vs Daniel vs Edge was fucking great though.
Seth is top 5 in wrestling and this current mixture of Monday Night Messiah, Sami Zayn dance moves, and gaudy preacher suits is great. Roman is carrying the company on his back. Great match even if ending only meant to further Roman's feud with Brock.
Great ending that pro wrestling needs more of, with rules enforced consistently.

The whole ending was Romans redemption for seth breaking up the shield and hitting him and Dean/mox multiple times with a chair then
WWE called the chair shots to stop fans from booing finish. My opinion is the WWE did this to get heat back on Reigns bec they hear he is being cheered! Reigns was going flat w/o Heyman & Uso's, last 3 weeks. To make the Brock match make any sense bec Brock is so over the Rumble was a total get heat back on Roman bec they dont want face vs face at Mania! Also they still are hoping for Rock v Reigns so they gotta keep Roman as a Red Hot Heel & the chaos bec of Day 1 he was losing steam!

Yes I hate the spot where the guy gets hit 20 times in the back with a chair instead of just taking one good safe chairshot to the head. What they're telling us is "I'm not really trying to hurt this guy so I'll hit him in the back a bunch of times" even though it actually does hurt.
