    One of the few things that i have gotten to witness was watching Kurt winning his gold medal in the stands in 1996, my parents took me to the Olympics in Atlanta and I got to watch him win when I was about 4-5 years old, fast forward I was at an indie show in NY and in line to meet Kurt I was overcome with tears and I explained to him that I watched him wrestling growing up and he was like “in the WWE?” And I’m like “no I was a kid in the crowd watching you win your gold medal” he was so taken back from that and he was so nice, he offered a free picture and anything I brought to have signed by him, I brought my Greco-Roman singlet I wore when I was doing the USA wrestling program for high schoolers for him to sign and he was overcome with emotion signing it, great guy I’m so happy for his life and he is staying sober

    For me kurt angle will always be greatest wrestler of his generation.
    The man can do anything. He was a outstanding technical wrestler ( probably the best), was a heat generating heel, a great babyface and guess what his comedy skits were actually funny. He made everyone who shared the ring with him better.

    • @johntorres2565
      @johntorres2565 Před rokem +6

      I discuss Ric Flair only with derision for the way he tarnished his legacy by wrestling well past his prime. Same with Terry Funk. And Eddie Guerrero is only thought of as great because he died early. Chris Benoit was just as good if not better than Eddie yet no one speaks about him as a great because he had a one bad weekend. The reason Angle doesn’t get talked about as often is because he did a lot of his wrestling in TNA and in that stupid 6 sided ring.

You could forget you were watching sports entertainment and feel like it was a UFC fight. Even when he was severly hooked on painkillers in TNA he put on some of the best matches of his career. To gloss over his TNA run as a "debacle" is completely ridiculous. In the ring Kurt was unstoppable but he could hang with the best promo guys of all time. He should have been on Raw carrying the show in 2006, not on sci fi in that horrible excuse for ecw. Kurt besting Brock in his prime is legend. Dude was a beast and still is. His matches with Benoit, Austin, and Lesnar are classic. Triple H was always threatened by Angle and that's why they ended the love triangle angle with Steph in 2000. Cost them alot of viewers too. Kurt should be revered and celebrated way more than he is. One of the all time greats. It's TRUE its true!

    I hate we never got the 🐐 vs 🐐 (of technical wrestling) of Angle vs Hart, but Kurt Angle is still the greatest technical and nearly performance/draw wrestlers ever. His drive helped him pull matches where he could legit beat my favorites (Austin, Rock, Taker, HHH, Lesnar) clean and I don't bat an eye. One of the greatest heels ever and decent as a face. Nothing compares to Kurt Angle, seriously. I hate we can't get 20 more years of him, but he laid it all out to entertain us, no matter what sport he was in. That kind of willpower...
    Anyway, horrible spot. Brian shouldn't lead a spot and let Cornette do it. "I'm gonna put this in my own words" then talks about crap when the football season isn't even started yet. And when Jim is confused, just say this app pretty much gives you prop bets and keep it moving. Jim's improv about Helix mattress was insanely funny. This ain't it and they likely paid more for the sponsorship than Helix. Need to plan the next spot out.
