I went to SLO 2003-2008. When I was there, it was quite common for people to attend Cuesta Community College for the first two years then transfer to Cal Poly.
Sure Poly isn’t in the biggest town but it’s so much fun. My dad worked there for 7 years and my whole childhood was there. Downtown is a lot of fun especially the farmers markets.
Yes 100% I miss it so much!!
I gradated Cal Poly in the 90s - and stayed in Mustang Village Apartments for my last couple of quarters. Mustang Village would rent to retired people during the summer - not the best mix - considering Mustang Village Apartments pretty much student housing.
Oh interesting! I didn’t know any older residents when I lived there but I might not have realized they lived in the Bldg and thought they were visitors
@@EricaZetterquist - Pretty much it was only during the Summer that Mustang would rent to retired people - since 80% of the students are gone during summer and old people are vacationing.
Haha that right no football hype bc Cal poly games start full but before half time they are empty
I graduated in 95 and wanted to stay in SLO but my career in television and movies are in Hollywood poly is IAA and used to be DIi when I was there and our team went to playoffs. I would take living in slo rather than L A in a heartbeat. They still speak English in slo, right?
Thanks!
Very very very nice
Should I still apply to Cal Poly even if I have a 3.5 gpa?
Yes it’s always worth a shot!
thank you for this! places being spread out and car-centric is a big thing for me and it’s hard to tell those things if you haven’t lived there.
I’m glad it helped you!
Does a quarter mean = graduate faster?
no not necessarily! It just means you'll have more classes but they take less time than semester colleges. For instance if you have 30 weeks of school, the quarter system with have fall, winter and spring quarter each be 10 weeks and a semester school with have two 15 week semesters.
As a mom, you just convinced me that CalPoly SLO is the best for my sons.
I’m glad it convinced you!
Hi there superb post
Thanks!
What is SLO?
San Luis Obispo
Have to disagree on a lot here. So many concerts going on in and around SLO! It is far from a boring town as well!
yeah there are some super cool concerts in the area! I love SLO and think its a super fun town but I also don't think you can compare the opportunities bigger cities like LA and SF have to offer. SLO offers a totally different type of fun (which I personally prefer). Just really depends on what you like to do in your free time! My friends are more 'big city' type of people and they felt bored in SLO.
@@EricaZetterquist Oh no wonder why it'd be boring! I am a small town guy haha.
Also a lot of racist and KKK activities. So fun right? Which KKK fraternity are you a member of? Did you learn all the legacy N word songs? I bet you still memorize it.
Definitely not a school for you if your from NYC or Chicago. We're from the Bay Area and money is not an issue. So beach, soccer and outdoors is perfect for my son. He most likely be going to SLO if his 2 other friends are accepted as well if not Davis. Waiting to hear from UCLA. When I saw the title of your video I thought oh no, but most the things you mentioned were a non issue I would say to most because most people going to SLO are from California. Still I liked the video because it gave me piece of mind that if he accepts then he'll have a great experience.
first
Too much diversity and the quarter system is manic
