On a 4090 I just play this maxed out at 4K native (no FSR) and get like 80fps minimum in busy areas, while the upper limit is 165+ in many other areas (my screen is 165Hz, I use G-Sync). That is obviously in the game's current state, no idea how bad it was before.
Oh damn! Thank you for reporting this - I saw the big patch release with promised optimizes, but had no idea how good or bad it was! That means the delivered thankfully! Obsidian has too good of a track record to let down all the player base! Thank you - some really good news right there!

It works gorgeous on xbox series X without the retracing without the retracing on just leave it on performance mode it's nice to have 4K to this Out of the world Picking it backup enjoying it like I wanted to at the start Facials are nice and the Lighting is OK But when we switch to that visual mode which is ray tracing for xbox sx we get dps Drop so bad I'm happy to play It in performance mod Looks gorgeous I don't know why people are complaining it getting fix soon away Especially in supernova mode Survival is key so fun
I fully agree with you - and the non-upgraded (old) version already was beautiful as hell! But hey - then developers (publishers) shouldn't advertise this as 'better looking AND better performning' if both cannot be achieved in the same time :D I mean - I'm happy to get the game playable and good looking but from advertising perspective this wasn't smooth move :D
Yes, they have patched and updated the game - at the launch this one setting was crashing it all, now it's not that significant! Although maxed out settings and this one changing from Ultra to Low changed from 88 to 110 FPS (in the same scene from the video). But yea, not best bet is to use AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution option, although I've just tested where in some scenarios it even gives less FPS and looks a bot worse (especially with moving objects)!
I'm having a problem with textures, it's keep getting blurry after a while, when I usually going for a spec up in skills or in and out of the menus etc. Also it's giving good FPS no issues but the textures are getting borderline blurry, like it's set to low, but it's on ultra actually. Maybe there is any auto adjust FPS features just to give performance compromising Quality ??? Please do give a way out.
The game received HUGE update that fixed most if not all the concerning issues, so this video is semi outdated.. But regarding issue you are having - sounds like counterintuitive treatment is needed here! How much of a video card RAM you have? I have seen this in other games - game loads high end textures and it works for a while, until you run around and more and more high end textures load up until the capacity is reached. At that point GPU is forcing some of textures our of the RAM this making them an absolute mess! So at this point actually lowering the textures (from max to mid?) might be the solution so the RAM is not filled up so much that GPU have to throw out textures you are actively looking at :D Try it out and do let me know if it worked! And happy hunting ;)

Daamn, sorry to hear - you deserve to play this masterpiece! I see a LOT of AMD card owners found a fix for crash when disabling 'Screen Space Global Illumination' in settings! Seems that this is not made/fixed for AMD cards and hopefully will be addressed some time soon.
@@billybolly734 lol poor graphical downgrade??...there is hardly any visual difference in graphics that you will notice when playing....heck turning down shadows from ultra to high made next to no difference other then better fps..the only settings that should be left on ultra is textures foliage and view distance.. everything els you can turn down a notch without seeing visual quality loss.

I'm a 3D artist, for example, and I take in the art at its finest in games (I currently have a 4090 and a 3090 in my PC, but I had top-end GPUs basically every 2 years when Nvidia drop a new gen). I'd rather enjoy the maximum fidelity, if I can. Some people don't care, they don't want realism (and usually kick and scream when "raytracing" is mentioned), so to those people - downgrades don't matter as much. People are different - who knew!

1080 gtx here. I changed everything to low and still couldn't get anything higher than 35fps. Did you have the old game installed? I did and I and a few others seem to think that it's sharing the same engine.ini. Maybe that's why changing these settings isn't helping me.

@@MLMariss Ha! Ok here's the update: after restarting, Low did make a massive difference. at certain adjustments, I could get 50-60 fps 1440. the only lows are visual effects and draw distance. I run a 4k tv and use FSR to upscale it. Auto-HDR even works in this version as opposed to last. But... After 20 mins it breaks my computer. it starts to freeze the screen. Further pushing it, my screen starts to flash and all sorts of errors pop around lol.

3060 ti here. Changing that option does nothing. It barely give 5 more fps so I'm still stuck at 35-45 fps :/

Try turning off screen space global illumination it worked for me I have 3060 ti too, Textures and view distance on ultra and the rest very high.

This game is shit, on my 4070ti and 5800x3d with 32gb ram, run with fps drop in 4k.
And did you tried tuning down Visual Effects? What's the difference then?
