Randy and Liz would make a great movie. Follow as he grows up, signs with the Cardinals, gets in the business, meets Liz, until both of their tragic endings.

Immediately clicked on thus for the thumbnail, I just re-collected my coliseum VHS collection after selling it off in 2014.
I remember back in 1984 or 85 when I was 10 years old I had moved the family satellite dish to watch MuchMusic out of Canada and ended up watching a LIVE wild feed of Gene Okerlund and about a dozen wrestlers doing these market specific promos. Talk about Carlin's list of things you can say on TV! 😅 It didn't last long, either. Very rapid fire with hilarious banter in between. My guess was some production issue with the equipment prevented Gene from pre-taping at the hotel so the choice was made to high tail it to the venue, fire up the production truck, and beam them live up on the bird so Stamford could record them from there. That must have been expensive - more so if the feed had been scrambled which it wasn't. Gene and the talent were moving faster than a BK kitchen during a 99 cent Whopper sale! I bet Vince was growling and snarling the whole time ... 😂

@@moffjerjerrod1579 Not the one I used to run in 1995. Back then, you either had a sense of urgency or you didn't have a job. Most people today don't have that sense of urgency period. Not in fast food, not in retail, not in grocery, not even in factories. I don't blame them, though. I blame society for letting crony capitalism, rent seeking, and griftopia run amok. A couple general strikes and low voter turnout a couple of election cycles, and the politicians will have to promise and deliver hookers and beer ... 🤣
I find Bruce the most likeable on the podcast network.
I stopped watching wrestling week to week in large part to the original rocket ship push they put on Cena.
I see little clips here and there. I don't even do that anymore.

Looking forward to the Iron Claw movie. It was only a matter of time before they made a movie about the Von Erich family. There's a great story to be told there. I also think a great story from the wrestling world that needs to be made into a movie is Diamond Dallas Page. I even told him this when I met him at WrestleCon in Dallas. He started out as a bar owner who loved the wrestling business. As a bar owner he got to meet wrestlers and eventually he took the risk and went after his dreams. He started late in the business and many told him it was too late to start but he didn't give up and persevered. Eventually he becomes the WCW World Heavyweight champion. But the story doesn't end there. After retirement he starts DDP Yoga and ends up helping a few of his fellow wrestlers find new life. Such a great story to be told.

If there was a great story, why didn't they tell it? The Iron Claw movie was nonsense, like ALL bio-pics.
Bruce pretty much gave Iron Claw a seal of approval so I'm definitely gonna see it. Whether it's a typical Hollywood movie or a true accurate idie biopic, nobody will leave the cinema with a dry eye. That family's story is soul-crushingly sad.

Bio pics are never accurate. Some are great movies, but total nonsense. People vs. Larry Flynt and Walk the Line are examples of great movies but not even close to accurate.

@@joedavidson6556 I actually think it probably would've stayed Shawn Michaels. That's the name he was using on other promotions long before he arrived in WWF. I could also see something like Shawn going by HBK in the fashion of HHH or MJF. Although HBK is more likely copywritten by WWE.

The best example of a podcast going south. Nowadays so many ad reads it's become unlistenable. I can press skip 15 seconds so many times but not every 10 minutes. Anything Conrad does has become something I've unsubscribed to.
