Telly Savalas and his brother George Savalas both starred on the 1970s TV series and both are buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, California.
I also remember some of the other cast members: Kevin Dobson, Dan Frazer, Mark Russell and Vince Conti.
Thanks for joining me on my travels on yet another trip to the past, down memory lane.

Good morning Steve... Many years ago while taking the Universal Studios Tour, I saw Telly opening a door to a car to get in. The tour guide was giving her tour and I started yelling " There's Telly Savales" like a crazy woman. He looked at me and smiled, pointed and said " Who loves you baby?". I nearly fainted, I was so excited. It was when the show was being filmed there. Rest In Peace Telly...you made me one happy girl that day!
Awesome Linda! Thanks for sharing that fun memory with us 😊👍
Lucky you.
Sorry Linda you misspelled savalas
Kevin dobson starred in two TV shows kojak and knots landing both on cbs
Love Telly Savalas , And George Savalas . Crocker Too . The Whole Cast Was Wonderful
My dad loved this show....he was a former vice/homicide detective and he would watch all the cop shows.
Steve.......Best show ever. Best to you and your family. Who loves you baby?
I did not know that was his brother either. I loved him on Kojak and twilight zone!!
Telly did smoke in early episodes of Kojak, I remember that. I'll give him credit though, he was the only guy I ever saw who could look tough with a lollipop in his hand.
George and Telly also appeared in my all time favourite Movie Kelly's Heroes as artillery Sergeant ( George ) and Big Joe ( Telly )
Remember, "Maggot"? Telly's character in, "The Dirty Dozen"?
I remember Maggot! Great movie!
Love that movie
Thanks, Steve...I only wished you were holding a lollipop when you said the line!LOL
Lol I thought about it 😂👍
Telly made bald cool as well as lollipops! This was such a great show! It's certainly an iconic one!
Lol he sure did 😊👍
I loved this show, so many great shows back in the good ole 70s. I used to love when he yelled " Crocker!" What a great actor. Thanks for the video. 👍🏻
Sweet memories Steve your the brightest light on the net Stay Safe
Thanks Tina and you too 😊👍
I use to take care of his horse telly's pop in los angels, ca in the 70s.
Wow, that must’ve been very interesting 😊👍
I was 16 years old and living on the race track at the Hollywood Park Race track also they filmed a Kojak episode and use my truck and trailer and also they did Quincy Charlie's Angels and all the other stuff back in the 70s oh yeah and also Charlie commercial with Shelley hack
Loved Telly Savalas in Kelly's Heroes
Fantastic movie, my all-time favorite.
And the dirty dozen, as maggot
Telly savalas also played bond villain blofield in her majesty's secret service
Steve, like you I watched every episode.
One scene I will never forget is when Kojack was fussing at Crocker; Kojack pulled the lollipop out of his mouth, shook it at Crocker and yelled "I'll bust your chops with my lollipop "!
Of course we kids back then picked up on that, and that's all you heard for months on end, I'll bust your chops...
Telly Savalas, one of my favorite actors of all time.
Thanks for the memories Steve👍👍 *Kojak* Guess I could spell his name right!😟😣
Lol 😂👍
You’re not alone Steve. I’m sure I saw every episode and I never realized they were brothers either.
Telly was from Garden City NY. We had a bald teacher who was Mr Savarese. Telly surprised his class by walking in. It was quite a few years ago but it caused,a big stir. Also know a man who worked,at Fulton Street fish market Kojak filned there several times and the guys down there said he was a generous down to earth guy. I love these journeys, Steve.
How interesting. Thanks for sharing this with us Sue 😊👍
Thanks for the vlog Steve, Kojak was one of my favorites along with Mannix and Canon.
I agree David, they were all very well done 😊👍
While Kojak ran, on separate occasions, I interviewed both Telly and George Savalas. I liked to toss in an unexpected question to actors for spontaneous response. I asked Telly what work would he do if suddenly told his acting career was over. For a laugh, he said, "Why, what have you heard?" Then he said probably go back into government work. I asked George when was the last time he cried. He said that was easy, it was when his daughter was born. As usual, Steve, you've given us another entertaining and informative vlog.
Awesome questions Thom and great answers! Thanks for sharing this with us 😊👍
Yes i always watch the series.I loved Telly. He was in the Netherlands one time.He was singing on Top Pop a dutch show.We meet him and hè was a very nice and charming man.rest in peace Telly🙏🕯️♥️
Awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us Nora 😊👍
I had the pleasure of cooking for Telly Savalas and his family. They were staying at the resort in which the restaurant was located. He was a nice man and very generous. After he finished his meal and about to leave he walked back into the kitchen and gave us all a generous tip and thanked us.
I remember watching this show. It was great entertainment. We don't get much like that anymore. Thanks for your time in searching for these famous graves. I enjoy watching your video's. God Bless😇

Hi my friend, enjoyed Kojak much and did know about his brother George being his brother. I had the pleasure many moons ago of meeting one of Telly's nieces who was working in a resturant in Toronto. I went in for a coffee and while I was waiting for my order I over heard her talking to another customer and she had a family picture in her hand with Telly and George and her and many others in it. Cheers Steve and stay safe, mask up forsure when you can't distance my friend.
Wow, it really is a small world isn’t it Daniel?! Thanks for sharing this encounter with us. Fun 😊👍

I remember watching Kojak as a kid - great show! I'd like to suggest a video on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
Great suggestion Rodney. It’s definitely on my list for the future. I’ve already visited some of their gravesites. Stay tuned 😊👍
Telly savalas was a great actor i do remember him smoking on the show., he smoked those little narrow Cigars once in a while he also had on his right hand a deformed right index finger he sometimes tried to hide it but you can tell something was wrong with that finger he was born like that & couldn't really use it, he told that story to tv guide back in the early 1970's well steve you did another remarkable job finding these Final Resting places of great movie star's in California, talk to you soon steve keep up the good work until next time looking forward to seeing you again on a trip down memory lane, bye for now. 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋

Je doet geweldig bedankt yolanda limburg
I remember Kojak from my childhood. Once he went to a suspect's apartment for questioning. He began scratching the door, not knocking..then the door opened with the chain still latched..a womans face appeared through it asking, "who's there, is someone there?"
Telly says," meow baby, just us cats outside!"
He was a cool, streetwise detective. I used his technique on a couple doors myself...lol!
"Meow Baby!"
Lol 😂👍
I liked Telly in the Dirty Dozen! Good vlog Steve 👍😊

I remember Telly playing Archer Maggott in the movie The Dirty Dozen.
Just an awesome show. I have the series on DVD as well.

Interesting that, Steve. Lots of information contained therein and obviously a lot of research has gone into the production Thanks very much for the upload. Kojak was very big in the UK in the day.
Jerry Lewis used to eat black licorice pieces when he was quitting smoking. I saw him eating them during a interview on You Tube. I loved KOJAK and Telly. Stay safe and God bless
All thru Jr high and high School that series was on, big fan of the show also!👍
Telly s LP s and singles where big in Europe during the 70s. I remember the songs ' If ' and ' Some Broken Hearts'.
I've always found it interesting that one brother can have a full head of hair while another is bald.
It made me wonder if that huge Afro was just a wig ?
great video stay awesome steve
Thanks Adam. You too 😊👍
Earlier in his career, Kevin Dobson co-starred with Sharon Gless in the made-for-tv movie, "Hardhat & Legs" (1980) (co-written by Ruth Gordon & Garson Kanin). One of my all-time favorites! Another of Kevin's is the 1980 made-for-tv movie "Mark, I Love You," which was based upon a true story. Highly recommended!
Hi Steve 🙋♀️ Watch Kojak with my Mum has they still show repeats on Television, Thanks my friend stay safe 🖐
I love this. Great intro!! Love seeing these cemetery visits.
Thanks so much Whitt :-)
I like the music at the intro and outro of your video. The volume is low, which is good, and it’s only used at the beginning and end, which is also appropriate. It also seemed to have that ‘70’s vibe! Thanks for another great video Steve!!
Thanks for noticing the music and for the feedback Lew!
Now I want to go watch some KOJAK!!
Loved Kojak! Still watch it when it comes on...and, we both share a birthday..which was yesterday, btw! So, happy birthday Telly (and his goddaughter Jennifer Aniston shares his sign, Aquarius, fun fact)!
Thanks for this!
Hi Steve! Great vlog ! I liked kojack and watched it all the time. If you look at their faces, they do look like brothers. Thanks for a great vlog! Stay safe and keep on vlogging! Deborah. Winnipeg, Canada
Hi Steve! Well look at that beautiful weather in Palm Springs, California! I am here in Montreal, Canada and seeing all the sites you visit is nice and very interesting! You look like a very friendly lad enjoying what you are doing and Steve you are doing a great job! Your videos will help me get through winter! Mind you, i like winter but summer weather is the best and so are your videos! Thanks Steve and keep up the great work! Greetings from Montreal 🇨🇦
Thanks Edward, that’s very nice of you to say 😎👍
George had all the hair. Telly was in a famous Twilight Zone episode regarding a talking doll that drove him nuts. Thanks Steve, sure brings back memories, "baby".
Lol thanks Ray 😂👍
Kojak was an AWESOME show!
He was one of a kind.
I never knew that they were brothers always an awesome job you do steve # 1 fan
Thanks Bryan :-)
Correction: "Knots Landing" actually ran from 1979-1993, not 1982-1993. Kevin Dobson was on the show from 1982-1993.
Hi Steve, hope you're well 😊 It's been a while since I've spent time online watching any videos, so it's nice to see this one, I really enjoyed it. I remember when I was a child watching Kojak on a Saturday night with my parents, I think it was either on before or after Starsky and Hutch. Great days. Stay safe 😊
You stay safe too Karin 😊👍
Loved this show. How fun to go back and revisit Telly and his trademark lollipop. Take care and stay safe. Chris and Dave
Never watch that show it was before my time but I'm going to look it up
Hi Steve I'm so glad you visited the grave of telly savalas he was really one of my favorite I loved him a lot and I did not know that George savalas was his brother until I saw him and telly on an episode of Alice see you next time I hope your mom is doing well and I hope you are too 😁
Thanks Pamela 😊👍
Hi Steve, most enjoyable as usual, if you have not do it yet, any chance of doing one on the cast members of the Rockford File please ? It was one of those shows with a brilliant cast and Garner was superb as Rockfish. I am guessing we have lost quite a few of the cast with maybe Gretchen Corbett and Stuart Margolin with Issac Hayes possible still alive. It was by far the best programme on TV in the 70's and the highlight of my week. If you have done it already, please can you post a link on your next video. Thanks as always.
Hi C S, yes, it is definitely on my list for the future. I’ve already visited one of the cast members gravesites. Thanks for the suggestion and hopefully coming soon 😊👍
@@TheGraveyardChannel Thanks Steve, appreciate you considering the suggestion. I'm guessing that Rockfish might have been buried back in Oklahoma his birth place and wonder how many are buried in CA. Should make for some interesting research. Keeping my 👀 peeled.
Telly was one of the people I wanted to visit when I was there in 2019. I’m glad I was able to pay my respects, but I was sad that Telly, John Ritter, and Paul Walker had no flowers or anything left for them. Maybe the grounds crew pick them up frequently to mow, but next time I visit, I will bring flowers. 💜
Yep, Telly and George. I still want a 1973 Buick Century because of that show. Also, from the movie Fletch; “Kojak, bang bang!”
Much ❤️
