Kiss It All Goodbye.Directed by Telly Savalas | Kojak

In this Kojak episode, the emphasis is on Kevin Dobson whom Telly Savalas treats like a son almost. Responding to a tip about a fur heist, Crocker and Saperstein confront a pair of robbers. Technically this was the first directorial credit for Telly Savalas in TV or film. Although he had previously directed the feature film Beyond Reason, it was not released to the public until several years later in 1985.
From Season 4 Episode 21 “Kiss It All Goodbye” -Crocker shoots a bystander while a robbery is going down, and the woman is paralyzed.

I've just started watching Kojak in the past 6 months or so and this is one of my favorite episodes. I'm totally hooked on this series. The grittiness and Hellscape view of NYC, sadly, suits the 2020's perfectly.

Originally aired Feb 22, 1977; kind of near the end of the series run, too bad Savalas didn't direct an episode during the series' peak. Nonetheless, this is a powerful episode indeed with Chris Walken in an early role.
