      @@SlashpLOder It's not about being American, it's about being over 40 and not listening to enough newer bands. Festivals and their subsequent mosh pits are a great way to get to learn about bands you wouldn't have otherwise pushed yourself to learn about in your busy life. As many people get older, they kind of know what they like, and sometimes newer bands sound too familiar, so they aren't as interesting.

    “Holy war” tour was the epitome of a perfect “metalcore” show. And for me reins royalty in the best concerts I’ve ever seen period. I’ve seen some absolute insanely mental shows…. Bands that even the guys in architects would probably praise to see. Holy hell tour is the show I judge every show I’ve seen recently and the future to come. Literally perfect in every aspect. I seen 3 shows in a row of that tour. All 3 had the exact same effect on me. Different cities, different crowds. The same love and kindness…. But a perfect balance of released tension. A fan base that understood this was a show for accepting the weight of grievance. After my peers and I raged in the pit while the band hit those heavy tracks that it would’ve been respectable to have little mistakes during…… absolutely amazed how tight and on point the band was; darkness covered the crowd. And as an aggressive “FOR TOM” call out echoed to the stage. Silencing the “encore” chanting the best fans were screamingly begging for…. After the first encore the band probably had planned….. Sam came out of the darkness. Choked up from the love and warmth radiating from the whole crowd. He whispered with a raspy voice…. “For Tom then” and “Gone with the wind” blasted the crowd. As tears fell to the venue floor nearly flooding the pit…. My peers an I moshed arguably the hardest we ever have. Maybe even the hardest we ever will. Ive been in quite a few dangerous pits, holy war pit was the craziest… wildest…. But also most respectful and kind pit I’ve ever been apart of. Lifted a handicapped young adult for a surf… after people circled him in the pit acknowledging the dangerous experience it could end up to be….. the pit took extra care not to tarnish his moment, but also respect the dangers. Mid show as the kid is floating on the sea of bodies, he makes his way to the front. Security helped him over the rails, sam came an shook his hand. And had the security bring him left stage right behind the towering speakers. Greatest metalcore show bar none

    • @ryanrowland5909
      @ryanrowland5909 Před 3 měsíci

      And not to write a novel in the comments 🤣 but context…. Billy idol at age 5 is my all time favorite show. Out of the hundreds of absolutely mental bands I’ve seen live…. None have came close to Billy idol. Architects hit that the first show I seen. With Tom. And the 2 other the 2nd being the last show I’d see with tom. With holy hell being so tight and crisp on the album…. I had low hopes, shows with Tom were already some of my best memories…. I wanted to be disappointed in the most respectful way. For Tom. That show blew me away. Spiritbox almost hit that. Sleeptoken hit that par with how good they sounded live. Wish the crowd was as good as the architects one tho….. the original “metalcore” live show for myself was “for we are many” anniversary tour. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that was one of the last tours oli played before he passed. Oli is a huge influence on my musical interest. Probably my favorite guitarist or just musician in general. Tom was the guitarist that opened my eyes to how huge sorrow sounds in a intricate metal riff. Something I was searching for as a young age after Steve stevens in Billy idol ripped a solo with his tongue, and ending it behind his back. The pressure from anchoring it on his head made the guitar detune. And the dissonant solo pierced the crowds ears. Most people displeased as it mirrored the sound of a dying boar. The moment I knew I wanted to play guitar. Since the age of 5, I’ve been listening for that dissonance…. Hungry for the sorrow Steve left in the very fibers of my being. Tom was the first guitarist that in my humble opinion, captured that sorrow. Not just in the riffs, but how he structured the whole idea of each song. Architects opened my ears to music I would’ve never considered. Hardcore/metalcore/deathcore/djent…. That before them I would give a listen and give some respect and then it would disappear from my curious ears. As a young teen I was classic metal elitist. Blind to the emotion that heavy music can bring. Architects was among the few bands that broke that in me. The band I never knew I would need almost….. what’s it been almost 2 decades now? Maybe one and some loose pocket change months. Young age of 30 hit me this year. Something I was sure I wouldn’t see. Not to be cliche but this band helped me along the way. I like to think Tom was in the crowd thise few shows of Holly hell. And by the 3rd show he recognized me, a complete stranger…. But a friendly face he’d passed the few shows before. As a simple head nod and “you again” i imaged him throwing my way. The thought brought me happiness I’ve only known as a child. My father recently passed. The last phone call I had with him “what’s the name of that song that challenged you to insanity as a young man?” ~these colours don’t run.

      @Kyle O'Connor wtf does diet have to do with it?! Eating healthy can make u feel better but it's not gonna cure your anxiety. People have anxiety. It's not always controllable. Being in a big place surrounded by a shit load of people can trigger anxiety attacks for tons of people. Including me. I had the same thing happen. Was at a Korn concert back when they were touring for see you on the other side. Couple songs in I had a panic attack and had to leave. You clearly don't understand how anxiety works. You can't just choose to not have anxiety. Guess you can't understand what it's like unless you've had to deal with it. Which I hope you don't. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Theres nowhere quiet to go to when theres three stages and thousands and thousands of people. Luckily I made it through Plot, Movements, Fever 333 and Black Dhalia. I only paid $20 for my ticket so I got my money's worth.

    Emotions are the universal language, even to some animals, sonunds maybe crazy for some, but from my expirience this is the way how you can communicate to dogs and cows, they are the only animals I spend a lot of time with, but I'm sure with a lot of others, and if you communicate with yourself this way, you can get a lot of things in your mind straight and in order in that chaos, I always wonder what we would think if we wouldn't speak and going with the dog for a walk through the nature is anyways a very good therapy.

      metalheadblues I disagree, considering that almost all (if not all) the material they’ve released on Holy Hell is about the healing process and the aftermath of the death of their friend, so therefore, it’s likely to come up in interviews or conversation in general...they want people to talk about these things and want to emphasize that these kinds of emotions and events needs to be discussed, as they should be.

      I personally dont understand how people can all of a sudden dislike a certain type of music because of how it makes/made them feel. songs are a time capsule and you can use them to revisit memories/feelings you felt at the time of you listening to the song and first connecting with it. don't run away from it fucking embrace it and realise that shit makes you who you are now.
