one of the better Nirvana covers out there with a completely original take on the lyrics and feel of it. I'm in love.
Joey?
+hector perez No its not him. . .
Joey! I thought that was you I-...oh...shit, sorry.
Hey I thought I saw Joey over here?
eh, I guess not.

Why does this have thumbs down? The god damned song is over 20 years old. It's been played 50 trillion times on the radio every day. Can't a new, brilliant artist give a creative cover version a try? Nirvana snobs are the worst. This is dope!!!
There are lots of people out there who like and dislike lots of different things for lots of different reasons. This is fine.
People don't have to like it, chill the fuck out.
+Mac Lethal Its because Nirvana is like this untouchable entity that people think should never be covered and they just blindly dislike covers because of their god like worship of Kurt Cobain. Even when the cover is fantastic like this, they will dislike it. Also especially because it is country which many people in music tend look down upon as a genre and rightly so in some cases, but they should not here because Sturgill Simpson is one of the rare great country artists of today and his new album is a great breath of fresh air in such a debased genre that is country music.
+Mac Lethal No Mr. Lethal, they cannot.
It's stupid and I could care less if someone wants to cover Nirvana. It's like a punk band covering a 70's ballad. "Oooh who would ever think of doing Nirvana as turgid country with ridiculous overwrought twang.
It's ART for dumb people.
I love it when someone does a unique take on a classic song and does it justice. This is awesome.
Exactly! Covers should not be exact replicas. This guy nailed it as his own!
25 year Nirvana fan. 4 hour Sturgill Simpson fan.
This is amazing.
welcome! He and Jason Isbell give Southern music new life.
broooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo m2
@matt86es not the same people, come to eastern kentucky and you'll understand
Just discovered this guy a few hours ago, and haven't stopped listening since. A little Waylon. A little Bocephus. Some Keith Whitley. I legit hear so many different artists coming through this guy. Then he goes from outlaw country to Nirvana and completely makes it his own without disrespecting it. I really just can't say enough. Pure talent. I am blown away.
Than drops sound and fury!
Came here to say all this, just not as well as @Lobo Johnson This song and the rest of this album continues to blow me away. I force this on anyone within earshot of my house nearly everyday and people walking by will stop and jam with me while I'm working in the garden. It's quite nice actually.
Lobo Johnson I recently just discovered this Man myself I am completely blown away by his work unbelievable😎
Don Williams, too.
Just found out about this dude myself can't get enough
I love covers that aren't the original genre. This is gorgeous.
Richard Cheese would like to have a word with you.
+Joshua Legge not the same thing. That's a terrible song to begin with but Jack Ingram doesn't do it any justice either.
Agreed! Good song works in almost every genre and there's always a possibility for a new edge. Like "Always on my mind" - it was great to begin with and PSB made their own kind of great. Or "Toxic" - practically any "Toxic" cover is at least interesting.
Yeah, Johnny Cash did a pretty great job with "Hurt" too, didn't he?
Sturgill is doing a lot of shit that can't really be lumped in with a genre.
This is a good example of how great music can be a chameleon, morphed into a non genre specific transformative reinvention with grace. A great song indeed, Il take the country version tonight, its what it always should have been...a song about love and appreciation.
I imagine Kurt would have approved. This is both respectfull and an incredible rendition.
100% Kurt would absolutely have loved this. Kurt has only ever said one thing that I didn't like, and it was him saying Tool ripped off some brothers that made stop motion animation with the song Sober, but he was a generally nice guy
Incredible. This album is more important than anything I ever accomplished as second president of the United States.
+John Adams Ah, Mr. Adams, you're humility is such a refreshing break from today's politicians. Glad to see you dig Sturgill. Any idea if your friend Mr. Jefferson enjoys the song? :)
+Alex Orr Ha, the real John Adams was anything but humble. Read up on the election of 1800, it makes the current election look like civilized child's play
+Tim Brown Ha! Yeah, I was being a bit facetious :) If Jefferson was remembered at the first continental congress as being quiet and brilliant, Adams was basically the guy who wouldn't shut up. That was indeed an ugly election. It's amazing to see how that friendship developed, then fell apart during Adams' administration and subsequent re-election campaign, only to be rekindled later in their lives. But what am I on babbling on about, Mr. Adams (who seems to have excellent taste in music) could no doubt tell us all about it :)
John Adams hahahahahha awesome
Omg can you sign my baby
I love how Sturgill adds that line after "don't know what it means" where he sings "to love someone". It completely changes the meaning of the song. Nirvana's version of this song was about the alienation they felt by the crowds of people at their shows who sang along with the words but didn't know what they meant. Sturgill's version is about how the song made him feel when he was a teenager. Ironic that he falls right into Cobain's trap, and yet reimagines the song as something beautiful in a whole different way.
Ian Krasnow haha
Excellent observation.... I'm sold
That's in the original version of the song.
@@zkrog612 Nirvana's version? No, sorry.
Wow man
The way they work that steel into his music is captivating
When I heard this song for the first time, I nearly drove off the road I was so blown away. Filled me with joy that someone could reinterpret this song so beautifully.
Sturgill is the man. Not a bad song
Love,love
Holy crap. You described it perfectly.
I'm sitting at work listening to it and crying a little bit at how beautiful this is.
This song makes me feel the way the ex I loved the most made me feel. As well her daughter. And shit.
I wish I could take back the wrongs I’ve done. I would give anything to have my little family back.
This is the best reimagining of a song since Hurt and Johnny Cash.
Truth!!!!
Crazy how much the whole song can change by Sturgill adding "Don't know what it means to love someone." Kinda puts the whole idea of the song to a different perspective. Keep up the good work! Loving it!
Whenever I would take my little wiener dog out for car rides I’d always play this song. I honestly felt like he liked it and was always relaxed with it playing.
He sadly passed away a few months ago and I haven’t been able to listen to this song without tearing up, especially the very last 10 seconds of it. Every time I get to the last 10 seconds, i always imagine him ascending with little wings and a halo and flying upwards into a sunset.
Anyway, I don’t think there could have been a better way to cover this song. Sturgill did a very phenomenal job and this song will always be something bigger than I thought it would ever be.
That's adorable
Mine passed exactly a year ago today. I miss my ween and am sorry for your loss.
Now I'm going to tear up every time I hear this song haha
Soon you will smile with the joy and feel it again buddy. Might take some time. Rip to your little buddy ♥️
A beautiful tribute to your sweet canine pal ❤️Just teared up 😢
No one ever did a better cover of a great song. Sturgil is an underappreciated genius
you must not have seen his cover of house of the rising son, he kills it
Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is a better cover. Even Bob Dylan (the songwriter) said the song became Hendrix's after that version came out. The English Beat's "Tears of a Clown" is a pretty dope reimagination as well.
Johnny Cash did a buttload of them.
The motherfucker won a Grammy!??!
Sturgill just kills this, his voice is perfect. He does covers so well I can't decide if I like this one or "The Promise" better. Keep at it brother.
Your music fills me with tears of joy, you are the Waylon Jennings of our time.
I can’t stop listening to this! This dudes voice is out of this world! The arrangement is wonderful !
I picked this song for my wife and I's first dance at our wedding. Cried when I first heard it. Can't listen to just once . I think it's a cover from someone who is trying to pay homage to the original song. Perfect and respectful peice of music
It's a Nirvana tune
The great nirvana made this song originally but this is a great cover and a great song for your wedding
Sturgill wrote this album for his son after discovering a letter his grandfather wrote to his wife and infant child while he was in Japan during WW2. His grandfather did not think he was going to live, so the letter was a farewell/advice to his child. It moved Strugill so much that he wanted this album to be a letter to his own son. For this song, I believe Sturgill wanted to teach his son about the temptations and behavior exhibited by adolescents. He wants his son to treat women with love and respect. And if you can do that, it can be a beautiful and happy thing, Which is why I think the horns were added. They represent happiness. The music video get's much more cheerful when the horns come in, as well.
And for the record, I love this version of the song.
+AJ Hermann lol
great comment! I didnt know about his grandfathers letter, it gives a lot more depth to the album.
RESPEC WAHMEN
Huh? 🤷♂
Normally I shy away from country music, but this stopped me dead in my tracks when I heard it profiled on NPR. This is obviously a tune with a lot of personal meaning for Mr. Simpson.
Sturgil is an absolute musical genius. The guy has left millions on the table because he wouldn't compromise his music.
I think we have passed the country genre a few albums ago. The only type of music sturgill belongs to is sturgill.
I see the comment is 5 years old. Hopefully in this time you realized Sturgill is a musician, not a "country" artist.
Two things...
If you're bitching about the lyric changes, just stop. Kurt made a song about teenage angst and conformity, and Sturgill morphed it into a song about finding yourself through finding connection (the fact he did that with a small handful of words is a testament to his ability and insight). Had Kurt lived to be a 50-year-old man, I have zero doubt that this version would speak to him more today than does the original. It's an evolution of the song, not an attempt to copy it.
And on that note, if you're complaining that he "stole" the song, or "did it wrong", just stop. As a huge Nirvana fan from the jump, let me just point out that Kurt's "genius" was mostly writing and playing 50's pop songs using punk concepts. EVERYBODY BORROWS EVERYTHING. There is no true 'originality' in music, though acts like Nirvana and Sturgill Simpson come about as close as anything we get these days.
You definetly don't watch fox news. Well said.
Why are people making this about politics..¿? Also why is a you watch Fox News a roast or put down? You sound like the dumb one for being a pretentious uppity think you know it all. When you don’t know shit. What happened to freedom of speech? Well here’s your victim card, good until you pull your head out of your ass. Unless you were sitting in the room with Mr. Simpson when he made the changes and said why then you can’t say shit about other people’s opinions and interpretations. So run and go tell on me to the PC POLICE.
Well said.
@@clintoncagle1545 hey "clint". The fox news dig was mostly due to my opinion of a news station that spreads fear and lies to the "gullible" people of this country and because i had about 7 IPA's on my deck at the time shortly after watching Sean Hannity spew off some b.s about our "current situation" in a youtube wormhole. Also, i have never used the term "well said" when relating to fox news. I was implying he has depth, meaning, truth, and thought in his comment, unlike fox news...i dont call the PC police you nerd. "Friends dont let friends get haircuts". Sturgil is the man.
Bro whoever wants to say he copied or stole is a fucking idiot who doesn’t know what a cover is, no need explaining anything to idiots
The song. The video. The music. All eerily beautiful. Outstanding cover by an amazing artist. Nirvana and country fans alike are applauding.
As a Nirvana purist, I am pleasantly surprised by this cover. Fresh interpretation and fits Simpson's new album well. Isn't just a forced cover.
Linton S. Dawson. What does it mean to be a nirvana purist? Genuine question. I mean, do you need to memorize all the lyrics and shout at teens with a nirvana shirt on etc. Or does it mean simply you like nirvana the same as half the population of the entire world?
just soak the song up ,for fucks sake , why give a fuck whose singing it...
"Nirvana Purist" Or in other words, High School Freshman
LintonSDawson what. You don’t like your covers to be forced?
@@makkieskates8631 it means that he liked nirvana just like every teenager that went through an emo phase, and because of that he has the right to sign off on another group singing his groups songs. I’m sure sturgill Simpson doesnt give a damn what he thinks
In an interview, Sturgill said he was a huge Nirvana fan, and was heavily influenced by them as a kid. He also said this would be on the next album as a tribute. Haters gonna hate.
+Matt Allen Best comment in here yet. I like Sturgill's music, but mostly I like that he doesn't let other people/big business/haters/etc. drive what he does. Can't wait to see him for the first time in Milwaukee!
I think this is the best cover of any song ever done in history. I have been listening to it all day
Everyone from Sturgill to his band to the production team behind this did such a masterful job re-arranging this song to fit Sturgill's voice and sound. This could have gone an infinite number of directions. That it ended up here is a testament to his vision as an artist and it doesn't get much better.
This is a sweet breath of fresh air. I hope Kurt can hear this.
+Shady Grady He can't. He's dead.
I don't think any of Nirvana would've wanted to hear this. The whole message of the song has been thrown out the window.
you're both awesome.
+Shady Grady smoochy smooches!
I doubt it. He's dead.
Wow... Just wow... took me a moment to realize what this song was. despite being titled in bloom... it didn't connect. Nice take on this, well done.
As an English professor -one long accustomed to spotting the 'hidden meanings' in art- this video just about breaks my heart with its empathy and sweet reassurance. It's all about Kurt. It's so, so about Kurt: the Kurt who alchemized dissatisfaction and wanted love...the Kurt who made it home. Honestly I can't watch this video without getting a little teary-eyed. Sturgill makes all this possible, people. You can't help but feel the stark legitimacy of his music: how plugged-in to himself, his subject matter, and the art of music-making he is. We don't see his kind too often, so take note.
Fake Pseudonym 2edgy4me brah!
Fake Pseudonym why this assholery?
'Cause he's a child pretending to be an adult and s/he thinks this is how it's done. "Hurr durr fake job but so smart I have strong opinions about tiny details." Home life must suck for that kid, alas.
...and please get with that last sentence: poor kid actually got out a Thesaurus to come up with 'bigger-sounding' insults that...well...end up just making him look like an edgy douchebag 12yo liar.
I was always told, as a child, that if I didn't have anything nice to say, I shouldn't say anything at all. I reckon this is the type of situation they were talking about. So I'll just say this, I happened to like Mr. Harmon sharing his thoughts and insight. I'd love to pick apart your charade here, but then I wouldn't be saying anything nice. I will admit though, sometimes it's fun to be a troll. Nice troll is way funnier than asshole troll though. Try it, you might like it.
Just can't stop listening to this song. RIP Kurt. I will always love the original you created. But this is truly one of the best covers I have ever listened to.
Such a complete re-imagining of the song. The inspiration for this came from a weird place. I like it somehow.
I'm not a big country music fan by any means, and Nirvana remains one of my favorite bands to this day. With that being said... This was awesome. I really enjoyed your version, and I'd be willing to bet Kurt would've as well. Thank you.
I hate to say it so I won't... Comparing things is fucking pointless. Instead I'll just say thanks for bringing back GOOD country music.
"I hate to say it so I won't"
That's country if I've ever heard it
Baxxter101 this is a cover of rock
Sturgill Simpson is an amazing artist that sings with heart , meaning, and emotions. You feel every note
Why so many downvotes? I love when artists cross genres and cover, it makes me feel like music is universal.
this cover encapsulates the beauty and essence of kurts songwriting.
Sturgill was a soul guide for me through this video in particular, as well as Turtles All The Way Down, and anything he’s done. Sturgill is a Savant. The pride of Kentucky. Love you pal
This is incredible. There’s around 3 genres in one song. HUGE props to Sturgill. Got that southern twang, some Chicago instrumentals, and a buzzsaw rock sound to tie it all together. 10/10. Blows the original out of the water.
Absolutely beautiful. Not the original. But I reminisce. I miss Nirvana. And my youth.
this is such a masterpiece, both musically and visually. Pure art!
I watched this on acid last night. I also pissed myself last night.
Watch it on nutmeg! ;)
Yes lol
10/10 would recommend
Fuck ya bro. Same here.
I hope you felt warm.
IDK how many times I have listened to this track over the years. Hundreds of times. It is so incredible. So amazing. So on point with the spirit of the original. Yet, standing on it's own perfectly well.. So good. So so good.
Not my typical shit at all, but damn, it gets points for originality. You gotta respect that anyone takes a song and turns it to their own genre.
almost like Waylon Jennings doing Nirvana.... I dig it, Two of my favorite things, Outlaw country and 90's alternative!
Waylon would have at least got the lyrics right.
That's what I thought...sounds like Waylon
Yeah Kurt would have loved this. Best cover of any nirvana song ever
kingoftomatoes check out “Stay Away” by Charles Bradley
The man who sold the world
You seem pretty sure of yourself. Did u know Kurt or something ?
@@Borganov20 they did that cover. Hes talking about people covering nirvana songs
Something in the Way by Tricky is pretty sick as well
Sturgill is so impressively. Has totally reinvented a classic here
Nirvana covers prove that grunge music is a most elegant, beautiful poetry written with sickly human excrement.
I get the general dislike of elevator music and gingifukation (miss spell to avoid FC) but I kinda like it because I see it as a tribute to Nirvana. I am a pretty new fan of S.S. But he sings real country as I know and love. I agree with W.W. Jr. about a bunch of pop bands trying their best “twang” and hitting big on the “country “ charts . Hats off to you Mr. Simpson
He's done it again, hits it right out of the park
No one deserves this cover more than him, watch the live version it bleeds from his skin.
I am NOT a fan of covers, but this??? Yes absolutely done perfectly ❤. Love it
Kurt would be proud of this rendition..
I agree.
+Jose Noriega (The Musical Junkie) And the video too. . .
+Jose Noriega (The Musical Junkie) He really, really fucking wouldn't.
+Justin Lesamiz for a music junkie you're quite the dumbass
+Justin Lesamiz You seem awfully sure of yourself, speaking for a dead man.
I really hope this is the start of something new in country, going back to the classic deep country voice and acoustic instead of the half assed southern rock that country has become
+MKninjas I agree completely! I've never been much of a country guy, but Sturgill and Chris Stapleton have me re-considering that. Sturgill's first two albums were also really good so is Chris' first two albums with the SteelDrivers.
Exactly! Authentic - not that Arena Country garbage they're forcing down our throats so poser millionaires can capitalize on poor people living the lives they sing about and pretend they've lived.
get all 3 of his albums..you will not be disappointed..get them on vinyl sounds sooo good.
Sturgill is one of the best country music artists alive. He gives homage to the old boys like Waylon and willy but at the same time he puts a new, fantastic twist on it.
Right on, Slowhand!
I was never a country fan but seen Sturgill Simpson in Glasgow off the back of Sound and Fury and got into his country stuff. Dunno what it is, but the dude has got it. Done sound and fury in its entirety and then his older stuff, best gig I've seen for a good while.
Me my dad and brother listened to this album on repeat on a 3 day road trip to Arizona my favorite memory of all time
Thanks, Sturgill! This album has a ton of pressure on it and you're kicking ass.
Greatest remake in a long, long, long time! And greatest video in a long, long, long time, too! WOW! Just...WOW! I got chills and I swear Kurt would have loved this!
An absolutely beautiful twist on an already fantastic grunge classic.
we're living in a golden age of genius country-singer songwriters in their late 30s who are recovering addicts, and also craft beer. what a time to be alive
What a bunch of snobs here in the comments. Take off your snobby purist blinders and appreciate this gorgeous loving tribute. So well done, thank you for the crossover and the soul.
Well I'm pretty sure 99% of the world has no idea what this song is supposed to be
+Kasi Karuppan Exactly. There's no "supposed"
+basilrose so it's... Nevermind
One of my most precious beautiful friends introduced me to Sturgill such a masterpiece Thank you!
Sturgill is just a a bit deeper than most. Absolutely beautiful!
This is fucking gorgeous. Wish I had this on vinyl for a rainy day, takes me to another world
This is some courage the cowardly dog shit

lol no doubt. love that show
Sturgill is the man. So underrated. Fuck whoever doesn't like this song.
Im a huge Nirvana fan, born and raised in Aberdeen lol. This is great!
Hey Sean
Born and raised in Sioux Falls
it's good to be born in Aberdeen. You can look at Kurt's house:) I bet it's fun to walk by it to school or to work listening to Nirvana lol
What a beautiful cover. Sturgill Simpson is the man.
This gets better as it progresses
who would have thought this could be made into a country song? so excited for this album
+Candace Sharpe if at its core it's a really good song then it can transcend to other genres. Kurt wrote really good songs!
Sturgill is the best! I'm 63 and this guy is awesome! Spot on Sturgill!
Moved off grid...your voice echoes through the hollow and up the mtn ♡ love you, Sturg!
Sturgill Simpson is amazing! This is fresh fresh, fresh!! Totally different than his last two albums. Awesome and you can hear his messages loud and clear. a love album to his son, lucky he let is in too to listen to this!
Makes sense. Kurt had that southern drawl in his voice.
dafuq?
he was from oregon which, get this, could not be farther from the south
+the man the myth the legend further than oregon, washington state
He was from Abberdeen WA. That's north man.
Not really
It should be illegal to cover a song so dam well. Sturgill Simpson country artist of the decade.
Love it. Loved the original. You can do both.
Never heard of this guy til the Grammy noms were released...gotta say....I'm impressed...maybe he's this year's Chris Stapleton??
Erica Copeland with him and Stapleton just goes to show the old school country is making a come back
Michael Davis check out Cody jinks
Sturgill is the real deal, man. That classic country voice, fresh lyrical content, serious songwriting chops, a shit-hot band, and sensitivity enough to offer both very true-to-the-original covers (e.g., his version of "I Never Go Around Mirrors" by Keith Whitley) and complete reimaginings like this song. Plus his Waffle House bits with Stephen Colbert were a gas. :)
I'm not sure about calling Sturgill Simpson old school. His style is like nothing I've ever heard before.
Well all you people saying "How could he butcher this song so bad...Etc...."
Ya'll need to look into the artist and his roots. This is country like the 70/80's.. Ever hear of Keith Whitley? He did it in his style...Check out Sturgill's other songs and album, he's the real deal.. Just my own opinion..
Sound and fury was my introduction to this bloke,
What a superb musician 🙏
I was sceptical at first but when I heard Sturgil sing I knew Curt would approve
Man..... Sturgill has such a powerful voice.
+Bryan Mills Definitely in the Randy Travis/George Jones/Clint Black area imo. He sounds great.
+Jason Simpson he blows those cats out of the water
Brian Kimbell
I don't care who he blows, but he definitely has a great voice.
I love Nirvana but never cared much for In Bloom. I really like what he's done with it. Like this much more than the original version!
Rusty Wood I love the chorus of the original but not the verse
In Bloom is their best song.
In bloom is great.
Thank you Sturgill. What an amazing cover. I can’t stop listening to it. Perfection.
this really is a brilliant cover, and I say that as an old school nirvana fan
I don't know how many of you lived through Cobain, but I did. this song was my mantra for a decade. He does a great honor by carrying this song to another genre of music, the "Country Genre", who hated Nirvana and us. If you can't see the greatness and honor, you are not a true Nirvana fan. He didn't imitate, he transcends generations with this version. I was a pro musician, drummer for 40 yrs. Expand your universe.
I'm a true huge Nirvana fan and I wouldn't equate this to one of the best covers ever. I don't even out it on the list. Look at what Nirvana did to Where did you sleep last night? Or Man who sold the world, Lake of fire those are iconic. He'll check out Nick Shoulders covering Blondie's Heart of Glass or Amigo the Devil covering Carrie Underwood Before he Cheats and you'll see what a cool cover is this is a lounge singer at best cover in my opinion
@@MrJesusHKrist just say you don’t like country and move on, my dude 🤣
@@kylatokki22 I love country to watch the nirvana unplugged version and tell me this is beter
@@MrJesusHKrist No disrespect intended, I personally just don’t see these two versions (MTV Unplugged vs Sturgill’s arrangement) mutually exclusive! They’re both wildly different interpretations and each shine in their own manner 👌🏼
@@kylatokki22 I'm not offended I've been offended 6 times in my life Is this is not one of them. This showed up as a response to my comment on a completely different cover of Nirvana's Cover of Leadbelly's Where did you sleep last night? So my reply isn't even applicable, Nirvana didn't do In Bloom on their unplugged album so you can't listen to it anyways. This is cool and different it just feels like it's dragging too much for my liking and the drums are epic they make the song. Listen to the covers above I posted about and you'll see how they took a sing and covered it made it way different and their own and it's better. In Bloom just needs those drums IMO and the dirty guitar solo it would be like covering Thunderstruck without the main riff in it. It can be done but the level of creativity and skill needed to take out one of the focuses of the song completely is incredible difficult and I don't think he nailed it with this if this was heart shaped box or a different nirvana sing I'd probably dignity but because they took those drums out and weren't creative enough to make me forget they existed in the original is where you lose me
I can't believe I've never heard this. Why? How? I love love love this version. One of the best covers of any song I've ever heard.
Country and grunge. Never have I seen such a strange marriage... and yet it works.
i'm a huge nirvana fan but this is amazing
Darius Winstead respect!!!
You can like both! I hope you know there is nothing wrong with that lol
Same
Why do you say that like you have to only like one or the other.
"but"? "and", rather.
Hands down my pick for album of the year
wild how "to love someone" changes the entire meaning of the song. expresses a little bit more than "And I say yeah"
This is just surreal.... gorgeous....... lost in time
The people who hate this are the same people who never understood what Nirvana's version was about in the first place. Love it.
Love to here that Kentuckian sing... He sounds like Keith Whitley and a hint of Van Morrison with the horns and yelling.. Kurt would be very proud
Picked up on the van Morrison vibe as well
This is a very good interpretation of In Bloom, beautiful layers of sound.
The video's production and this cover version is the most innovation the country genre has seen in a few decades. I dig.
I will never think of this song the same way EVER again
I love this cover. He made it his own.
Same with The Promise by "when in Rome"... Sturgill's version was our wedding song when my hubs and I got married. He made it an entirely diff song
MMMM...So good! He brings so much more emotion, depth & grit. God blessed him with an old school classic country voice. Love it!
I was on the fence with Sturgill, until I heard this cover/album. What a great interpretation of a song that was already great.
Damn you Rogan, you made me love this guy. Now I'm a HUGE fan after hearing this.
