      it's a shame how 2d has pretty much died in western shows now. the old Disney films had so much energy and character in the animation. thankfully, Japan is still keeping traditional 2d animation alive.

    Could an anime like Demon Slayer be done in Grease Pencil? 2D with 3D CGI Background? Grease Pencil doesn't have tweening?

      Of course you can do it, Blender has what it takes to do it.

    Hi! I know it's a bit out of topic but I'm a complete beginner in blender and I'm trying to do a scene with mirrors. I have some grease pencil objects that doesn't reflects in mirrors but I want it to... and I can't figure out if there's a way to do so. I've tried googling but I've found nothing yet. I'm using eevee with reflection planes. Would really appreciate any help

  • @SaffireAnimation

    So why specifically using Blender’s grease pencil. Frame by frame animation can be done using photoshop, flipaclip, procreate. 🧐

    • @zephaniahdejene1746
      @zephaniahdejene1746 Před 2 lety +1

      No pixelation and grease pencil is animation oriented
      And all of this at the very very affordable price of free, it's a bargin
      But it just comes down to preference

    • @SaffireAnimation
      @SaffireAnimation Před 2 lety

      @@zephaniahdejene1746 true pixelation is definitely an issue unless one is using vectors in photoshop.

    • @zoobloo
      @zoobloo Před 2 lety +1

      idk about the others but I find Photoshop to be very fiddly and tedious when it comes to frame by frame animation. Blender is much more efficient and has more options. The only problem is not much brush options

      Grease Pencil is so good and fun to work with overall.

      Like others have mentioned we chose it for being free, easily accessible and open source! It also allows seamless 2D and 3D integration which allows lots of fun experimental projects :) There are much better/specialised 2D animation software out there, but for anyone starting to learn, this is a great, fast growing option.
