  • Hershey Park just announced their new roller coaster for 2020, Candymonium! Candymonium will be the park's SECOND hyper roller coaster following the addition of Skyrush in 2012. Did the park choose the right attraction? Watch this video to see what I think about the situation and be sure to comment down below your thoughts on the situation.

      And, even still, what the park adds is up to them, not us. So, all the enthusiasts can bitch all they want, but its not going to get them anywhere and its not going to make the park change their mind

    It's also more of a 'foundation' coaster or a staple coaster. It ties in the ChocolateTown area and helps the park become synonymous with their coasters, flats and candy.

      It kind of reminds me of Gatekeeper at Cedar Point. Both rides serves its purpose to be synonymous with their parks, Hershey with candy and Cedar Point with lakefront thrills. The coaster has to be iconic and welcoming, but also friendly to parkgoers. We could see a lot of families ride this coaster.

    Idk why people care that it’s 2 hypers. They provide completely different experiences. That’s like complaining that Kennywood has steel curtain and Phantoms revenge because they’re both technically hypers. Or that cedar point has magnum and Steve. Who cares??? It’s about the experience on the ride, not the height being between 200-299.

They could easily boost the reputation of the ride by switching them out, which Intamin has shown they are able to do with the hard over-the-shoulder restraints. This especially should be true now that Hyperion has opened with the same train design and revised restraints.

    I like this. I have Hershey has home park and oddly, my favorite type of ride is a B&M hyper. I think it's a little dumb but still I think it's a good edition with Sky Rush not being liked.

  • @wordsintowins
    @wordsintowins Před 5 lety

    I've got great adventure and HP within driving distance. Nitro at great adventure is the best coaster ive been on (besides kingda ka). B&M make a solid coaster. Skyrush is also decent (aside from the godawful seats and restraints).

    They built one because Kennywood just got Steel Curtain. Hershey has always been classified as a family park. Not too many thrill rides for teen/adults. This new addition should give them something cool to ride.

    @CoastingwithCulture Před 5 lety +1

    Not complaining about them adding another hyper. I will say though that the name seems like it would be better suited with a family coaster than a Hyper. But that won't keep me from riding it.

    Ha, I'm glad I'm not the only one that hates the restraints on Skyrush. I love the ride's dynamics, but the restraints are so painful that it ruins the experience, and it's all I can think about when riding. Because of this, I don't ride it often.

It's just always broken down in a manner that the slowest (myself) of the slow leaves the vid feeling informed and smart as fuck! Man you really have a future in this shit, so DON'T FUCK IT UP!

    Does anybody else think Hershey park builds shorter roller coaster experiences then other parks? Candymonium seems pretty short and does not have as many elements as other B&M Hyper Coasters... Hershey just bought a ton of land, i sure hope they have something bigger in mind to fill the space. They could have done so much more. Nonetheless, im still very excited about this upcoming coaster! Its pleasing to the eye and im sure overall will still be fun! just a little disappointed in what it could have been.

  • @TheVerruckMan
    @TheVerruckMan Před 3 lety

    Admittedly I'm not exactly what I'd call a full blown roller coaster enthusiast per say, but as someone that has been to Hershey Park quite a few times, I think that this was a good move on their part. Skyrush is definitely a well designed coaster, but even disregarding the intensity of the ride, which I'll fully admit to being something others would consider a perk, my other biggest gripe about it is how *short* the ride is, especially compared to the lines it tends to attract. Because of that, I've always liked Great Bear and Fahrenheit a lot more. Candymonium at least seems to be a lot more like what I'm looking for in a coaster.

    In 2019, i went to hershey with my daughter then 7 years old and went on mostly family rides, but towards the end, i was itching to get on a larger coaster, so i left my husbad and daughter to ride sky rush bc it was right in front of me and i was like oh a nice hyper ride. I went front row and was waiting for it to start when the ppl next to me told me i better remove my glasses. I was confused bc i knew it didnt go upside down or anything. They were like this ride is intense. How intense could a ride like this be i thought. Haha.

    Skyrush is kind of like I305 taken to the next level even though it's only a hyper. I found a decent contrast even between the 2 big B&Ms at Carowinds. This is more like Skyrush crossed with Fury than I232 though.
