You are so brave. I always wanted to move to the countryside but didn't have the guts to put it into action. I couldn't set myself free from the old fashioned success stories. But I don't care much about that as before, so someday I might leave the cities too.
I have relatives that reside in the countrysides of Japan and I used to visit them frequently.
One thing is that even though their lives look pretty chill, I also could feel the pressure of 村社会 (closed society?). Belonging to a rural community provides mental and economic security, but also might create constraints.
    I wish you good luck.

There is nothing wrong being honest with where you want to live. Not everyone is the same. Don't get pressured from what people tell and think about your decisions.

I just turned 30 this year. I think there is value in hard work and sacrifice. I think people who’s lived a hard life are more able to appreciate hard work and sacrifice because all they have in them is gratefulness. But it’s easier to take things for granted when one has had it easy all their life. This is why most people who are depressed are upper middle class. It’s easier to count your misfortunes when your blessings are in abundance. A lot of young people these days, they want to be part of society but they don’t want to play their part in society. It is a dichotomy. There’s nothing wrong in living differently either. But to be truly happy you must be aware of the things that you have to let go and make peace with that, and act accordingly.

I've always dreamed of living at the beachside. A place where you can hear the breeze, the birds chirping and the beautiful waves of the sea. It's so peaceful, surrounded by positive energy and relaxation, something i've always wanted, to escape the busy city live and start again.

I'm with you. I would prefer Kizaki/Omachi over Nishinomiya. I don't mean to speak out of place, but you have the sound of stress and a little depression in your voice. A change may be what you need. Success does not have to be a high paying job in a stressful life. Success could be having the bills paid with a little left over for some fun. Success can be living your life in a low stress and beautiful environment. Success does not have to mean having money and having so much stress you cannot enjoy life. My move to the Lake Kizaki area is progressing. Once there I will be where I want to be in life. Slow. Peaceful. No stress. SAFE. It is unlike anywhere I have ever been before in this world. Keep us updated with your progress on your move! Just putting up these vids on your progress can be great stress relief! I have liked and subscribed!

being fully human involves a combination of pressure & release. i'm very lucky in that I like solitude. When I was working hard & commuting, I got a lot of release from having a couple of neat whiskies & reading or listening to quality music all by myself...look forward to following your quest...

😢 Before I even watched the video I can already tell what are the things inside this video. To be honest I just realized that living in the cities did change me; when I was 15, a total change from what I think; like 'I MUST BE 'PERFECT' ' . It is like forcing yourself to fit in. I have never thought of it that living in the city would change me this much... (Oh my, I wanted to cry), I just always wish I could go back to my life back there with my grandparents, and whenever I could, I used reasons to my parents just for (at least) me could go back to where my grandparents are, to a place I once, to a place where there is peace in me.😞
But I could not change/make myself to believe 'I don't need to do much', because I already know what/how this world revolves every year, and it is to, like 'Beating someone that does not even exist'.😢
Hayst.😌 It's like everytime my grandparents asked me 'what happened to you?' or 'are you well?', I just say 'Yes, I am all well', or should I say 'Yes, I am 'Aware' '?😅
    I apologize, if I sounds like sarcastic.😅

I live near Tokyo, and I 100% feel you bro.
Every single word you said in the video was literally expressing my 悩み here. I had to quit the company that made me work from 9 to 2 in the morning every single day.
I really hope I can find the chance, just like you, to live in a small city and find a job there and enjoy the slow-paced life style. I'm like you, tired of seeing those miserable faces everyday.
Thank you so much for sharing this. You are brave and I wish you the best.

Follow your heart. A simple life often means more physical labor and lowered financial goals. Money cannot buy happiness and the love of money is the root of evil. Have a long, peaceful and happy life.

Hot springs are a good place for grounding yourself and connecting with the local community, for sure. It seems to be crucial. Local sentos are ok for a while until you have time to escape the city.

It's so good to immerse oneself in nature every once in a while especially if living in a suffocating urban area. Nature resets us and attunes us to our spirit. 🙂

Naoya-san, you are right. Living in a big, bustling city is very different from living in a town or village. I am from NYC and it is a chaotic life here. When I was teaching in Okayama-ken it was a slower pace of life and some aspects of it were wonderful. Every night I could hear the cicadas and crickets chirping. I could enjoy peace and quiet. Whenever it rained, the sound was so soothing. I did not experience large crowds or hectic traffic. However, as a big city girl it was difficult for me to socialize or make friends. My Japanese was not good enough and there were very few young people living in the small town. I think it is all about what your preference is and where you feel most comfortable.
Now I live in NYC and oftentimes I go to parks to relax and enjoy nature. It is important for us to connect with nature. Japanese culture is very much in tune with the natural world and I appreciated that very much when I was living there.

Waking up to the insects and birds chirping is something else. I haven't got a chance to visit Okayama, but hearing your story I really want to go there and spend a few weeks there without getting bothered.

@@NaoyafromJapan250 Yes, the cicadas, crickets, grasshoppers and katydids all created a nighttime chorus for me every evening. Since I lived in a small, very quiet village it was always quiet day and night. All night I could hear the insects. I am sure there were many small frogs too and I could hear them.
Okayama-ken is very rural. I did not live in the city but up north in a small village. A lot of farmers were around me. My apt was surrounded by many mountains. So I was constantly surrounded by nature.
If you go to Okayama-ken I recommend visiting Kurashiki-shi and Bizen-shi. I also recommend visiting Kōraku-en.

We have visited Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto last year. We have a trip to Tokyo in October and we are trying to move to Kanagawa with the next year or so. We have spent lots of time in the major cities of Japan but we have not had the chance to spend much time in the rural areas or small towns. Once we move to Japan, we are excited to explore the smaller areas! We live in a small town in America and are excited for big city living. I think it all comes from perspective. The small town people want big city and the big city people crave the small town.

Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear in your life? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
