In this review I walk through the evolution of the calculator from the 10B and 10BII, its basic operation, and financial functions such as: time value of money, cashflow, bond and breakeven calculations. I also demo its statistics and scientific features, and compare it to HP's two higher end financial calculators, the 12C and 17BII+.

Hi. Thanks for the good review. With financial calculations, it is easier to follow if your example problems were written down.
Thanks for the great feedback Arjunaidi. I'll include written problems in the future.
Lol i like how everytime you review a newer model of a calculator you always have a couple of it's older models for comparison to show. Like how many calculators do you have ?! I'm so jealous
Haha.. i have too many. I started off with a rule I would only have one shoe box full, now i'm up to 5 shoe boxes. Still I don't consider myself a serious collector - i'm more interested in documenting these great devices. I buy most in Australia on FB marketplace - they tend to be cheaper than ebay.
Underrated calculator because is algebraic (Fanatic RPN -lovers hate it)!!!
For me, much better calculator than the hp 12c. Scientific functions add. Faster, accurate, More memory 👍👍
Can you perform discounted cash flow to find intrinsic value of a stock with this calculator?
There seems to be another model of the bii that fits between the bii you displayed and the bii+. It has a similar form factor as the bii+ , silver border around keypad area, and less functionality, like the trig functions.
I have it
Hi! This one or the hp 12c platinum?
They are both good calculators so it somewhat comes down to taste. The biggest differences are that the 10BII+ supports some more functions, but the 12C supports RPN and you can program it.
I am thinking about buying one but really these days isn't it better to just use Excel for working out formulas.
Yeah that’s true, although sometimes it’s nice to have a calculator for a quick calculation.
