of course not!!! I'm 26% bodyfat and I love calisthenics. Though I will say it's much harder to get into especially some of the more advanced stuff as a big boy, I'm aim to lose another 50~60lbs, but I'd been doing basic progression incline pushups and inverted rows ever since I was 330lbs and like ~50%+ bodyfat.
If you got a body and you can use said body, use that body and no matter your size you can watch it become the strong body!!

Pride gets in the way of people working out with the body.
People think pushups are easy because they are the earliest and most used thing. Military, gym and especially in school.
It makes people think pushups are beginner workouts but the truth is they are full body and if any one group is weak it fucks up the pushup.
So people think if they cant do a pushup they are weak and refuse to knee pushups

there is a too fat and to heavy for calistenics
if you ask a 600LB guy to do assited anything you think its gonna work? those bands will break in an instant.
these type of workouts is best to do when your at a optimal bodyweight that way your joints and bones arent put through massive strain and injury can happen
instead of asking a 400LB guy to do these movement you should behelping him lose weight to 200LB where he can actually do them without risking issues.
when i was 18 i weighted 250LB, lost weight and gain some muscle till i reached 170LB and doing muscle ups and 1 handed push ups and pull ups came naturally i did nothing to even know i could do them, i went rock climbing and easily lifted myself up with 1 hand even i was surprise.

I disagree. Kind of. Heavier people have to work extremely hard to be just average in calisthenics. If they want to do dips and pullups, that's great, but I don't think that's what this sport is. A heavy person would spend 2 years perfecting front lever while a below average weight guy would be at his level in several months.
It's not all bad though, lighter people should stick to hard bodyweight elements (in which they're naturally better) and heavier people might be stronger in weighted calisthenics or something else. I absolutely don't mean this in a bad way, but there's a reason why 90% of cali athletes started out as skinny.

      Have you watched the video?
The point is exactly that heavy people don't have to train for things like front lever but can do other easier calisthenics exercises.

I agree with your opinion. But if a heavy weight athlete reaches to that kind of level of calisthenics, they would be A LOT MORE STRONGER than a lighter athlete

I also disagree. It's like saying: Don't play Basketball if you're not tall. Don't start with bodybuilding if you're a hardgainer...
Look, It's not about who has the best conditions to reach the highest level possible, it's about getting better and improving yourself.
Some people just want to get fit, learn a pull up, lose some weight, get mobile or simply train at home without any kind of equipment.
I started Calisthenics with 27 and will never reach the level of an elite gymnast...but i can still improve myself, make the most out if my own potential and simply enjoying bodyweight training! (Sven)

Who cares? You point is completely stupid. Why does it matter if you are average? Who is the regular person competing against? That is right, themselves.

Calisthentic is not for people who are too big or too fat
Usually, people with an athletic, muscular build do this sport
Older people would often get injured during the exercises or would not even be able to perform them

Cope, f*tties are too heavy for body weight , even fitnessFAQs mentioned leanness if u wanna do advanced stuff

      @chrisethan1246 Před 11 měsíci +14

Ofcourse. For advanced stuff it helps a ton to be lean and all the advanced athletes are lean but fat people can also do simple calisthenics exercises by like here it says "scaling it down'" to improve strength and move on to more advanced stuff.

I think you didn't get the message of this video. Calisthenics is not only about hard and impressive skills. If you're very heavy just scale down the exercises to be able to do them. You can do regular squats, incline push ups, high angle rows, Knee Planks etc.

@@calimove u can’t scale down advanced exercises. U must be lean with some strength. U should try to get obese and do dragon flag/pistol squats
