- Cannondale’s endurance machine packs in more than just a comfortable ride... | Subscribe to Cycling Weekly here: czcams.com/users/CyclingW...
Nestled within Cannondale’s road range between the aero SystemSix and the lightweight SuperSix sits the Synapse, Cannondale’s long-standing endurance machine. With an emphasis as much on rider comfort as speed and performance, the Synapse has seen plenty of change and refinement to get it to this, the latest version.

i like that it has normal seatstays, unlike almost every bike out there
A reviewer who knows the numbers. Nice.
I have used 25, 28 then 25mm tyres on my Hollowgram (actually made by Stans, not C'dale) equipped Synapse and can't wait to wear the current 25's out so I can put 28s back on again. No detectable speed gain from the 25's, but you do notice the harsher ride. Oh, and C'dale "continue" their relationship with Fabric 'cos they are both (along with GT, Mongoose, Iron Horse et al) owned by Dorel Industries.
Very good review.
Not sure about this current model but the Hi Mod I have, the conical spacer has a flat headset spacer/dust cap under neath. My older super six was the same way.
Yup. You can remove the 'conical' spacer and slam the stem.
Was this video supposed to be released like 2 years ago? There is nothing new including the old Sram eTap. Still great bike but I really like to see it in a head to head test against bikes like Focus Paralane and Rondo HVRT.
You can use headset from supersix hi mod and you have only 5mm instead of 20mm :)
How thin can i go on the tires?
AWESOME!
As far as I know you can slam the stem and remove the conical spacer. At least this was possible in the previous Synapse.
Yup. That's correct.
Pinarello Prince & GAN models review please
Look at ali express😆🤣
C’mon guys, you should know that there is a slim headset cap underneath that 20mm conical spacer. Slam that stem fans rejoice!
You better say nice things this is my pride and joy! Well I have the di2 but shhhhh
Thomas Downing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey man you got more $$$ than I. I got the Carbon 105 Disc. The bike shop did an okay job fitting me, but I am fortunate to have a proper bike fitter in my parts. Best $150 I've invested.
@@dcmsr5141 That's awesome, never had a professional fitting really must consider it! How are you liking your synapse?
@@MrTommyBp loving every bit of it. When I'm climbing and out of the saddle or in a truck on flats, it feels as natural as extending my arm and bringing it back in. I don't want to sound weird but the bike feels like me and I feel like the bike.
DCM SR I also have the carbon disc 105 and I feel the same way! It’s a very comfortable bike and I have no issues keeping a fast pace with people who are on “race” bikes. Plus I can ride longer, which is due to being less fatigued and also the 50/34 up front and 11/34 in the back gives you a wide range of gears for unpredictable terrain.
@ 1:40 The word you're looking for is Acronym, not Anachronism
I hooe the headset it better than the super 6
BB30 squeak so bad. Hate their in house crank set too. It’s definitely a comfortable but little low on performance. Highly versatile bike. Great for beginners starting road biking and not bad on crushed gravel. It is less snappy and doesn’t handle as well but it’s just matter of preference
Creak..Creak... Creak...Creak... Creak
*space tech carbon
I love informative video but please.. tech writer is talking about unique carbon layup like it was visible or something... it's not, it's selling canondales marketing, lets talk things which matter. I mean I've never seem synapse out on the road. Why?
AboutBikes I ride a Synapse, albeit a much cheaper version than this. It was the first new bike I have ever bought and the first bike I had ridden after 10 years away from cycling. It’s a nice bike but it does not blow me away.
I went from a '14 regular carbon synapse to a '14 hi-mod. And obviously you can't see the difference, but the bike felt totally different. Definitely marketing, but there was a noticable difference.
AboutBikes I have a Synapse and ride it all the time here in Utah - come visit!
I don't say it's a wrong bike guys, my point is when you've jumped from carbon to high mod was you like "wow, that seat tube feels like it's not only flexing horizontally but also twisting! Damn must be that carbon layout" or more like "much comfier, confirmed"
I wouldn't say a word if there was canondale tech in the studio talking about it because it's fine and true. But tech writer? He's reading whatever letter come with a bike to advertise...
LOLOL. I hear ya on that. Good point. Kudos if this was Strava.
It's pronounced "sin-napse" not "synapse"...wait what? 🤔
Holy moly a $6500 bike is nice. News flash! C’mon guys.
Synapse feels like riding an elastic band, so soft and flexible, just not for me. Is this a paid promotion?
More “Aero” more “stiff” blah blah. Same old thing.
You may have watched but you didnt listen.
Screw disc gimme rim!
why do they make them so damn ugly tho??
