  • Sichuan houses the largest clean energy industrial cluster - and it’s a result of industrial policy.
Local government officials carefully selects the companies to complement the industrial chain, creating an ‘assembly line’ where an upstream company’s products will feed into a downstream company’s needs in a neighbouring city.

This is the advantage of good central planning for base infrastructure geared for economic development. Compared to scattered n reactive approach of the US capitalist approach, this is way more efficient n effective. Good infrastructure eliminates most unnecessary roadblocks for entities to focus their efforts on innovation in their fields. US will find it hard to catch up

The French mostly was a hinder to industry since it was a political military decision that is top down despotic.

The cost of photovoltaic power generation in China is lower than that of coal-fired power generation.
However, due to the instability of photoelectricity, a large number of pumped storage power stations are being built in China, which are used to convert the photoelectricity in the peak period into potential energy storage.

It's not just environment but also beneficial to CHINA where power demand keeps growing and domestic production of fossil fuels such as oil and gas can't keep up and rely more on imports which is very dangerous and vulnerable as country seeks for energy security and independence. It will also drive down the cost as industrial supply chain is domesticated and can be source out from inside the country rather than relying on imports. It will create more jobs as well.
