  • As the city of Mumbai, India, bakes in an extreme heatwave in 2024, how does where one lives impact one’s capacity to cope? In the suburb of Bandra, the affluent live side by side with residents of the slums. We find out how successful entrepreneurs Shraddha and Raghav, as well as auto rickshaw rider Feroz and his family, deal with the extreme heat.
Can one NGO’s roof initiative help slum dwellers, who have no access to air conditioning or expensive home retrofits, deal with extreme heatwaves forecasted in the years ahead? Vivek Gilani of the Fairconditioning Foundation talks about the solutions needed.

and his wife preparing cold drinks using their fridge for the neighbours who dont have a fridge reminds me of when i was facing my lowest points in life. during then, i could empathise with the poor and those suffering so easily and was willing to help them when i had less. now that i have more and excess, i actually find myself being more stingy and selfish. this video is a dam good reminder; i'm glad i watched the entire thing up to them celebrating their anniversary with ice cream (hearts). i'm gonna start with actions tomorrow. to many of us singaporeans, 50 wont change our life but it can be so helpful to another.

I live in a small hometown in jharkhand surrounded with jungles and also no factories. No pollution.
And its so hot. The humidity is killing us. At night and in the morning its getting difficult to breathe. Every other household is getting AC installed and its sad

Don’t bash women. She knows how fortunate she is and I didn’t see her boasting. Both families seem to have good relationships. I do feel bad for the living situation of the poor family.

I went to india in November and it was so hot and it was supposed to be winter season 😭 I literally couldn’t handle it (I’m also a wimp ) so I can’t even imagine how hot they are. Kudos to Vivek for doing more than the billionaires that live a few miles away

      Billionaire 😂😂😂
The rich family probably earns more liket 50,000usd per year. That is great money in India, but nothing extra ordinarily extravagant for two people working.

People have become contradictory temporarily..like the rich lady who never understood why the weather became hot? It's because the space of her building kept emitting heat for the poors living around it to suffer..and I stay in bombay as well.but we never had an AC for the past 30 years..that we kept planting trees every year..just that simple

That was the real purpose of this so called docu...there is not much info about the climate change and it s effect on India but filled with emotional bait clips , not so expensive to make it huh...God how I hate those manipulating style of work. What do you do with your money, donating half of it to the NGOs?
