    If you say compression has no effect on trampoline effect then why is there a USA, USSSA, BBCOR standard? Your logic would say compression has no effect on the distance of a ball hit, given all the variables are the same. I can tell you from personal experience that there is a dramatic difference between USSSA and USA bats.

    you should have done a composite bbcor to see if that made a difference

    This would be great to find out if a bat is dead or not.

    U should do a new vid where it is the same bat like c.f. zen for usssa usa and bbcor that way it is constant

    For all you people who don’t know a lot the higher compression pretty much means for people’s bat swing that if it’s higher the ball doesn’t go as far then a lower one

    Compression of the bat will also be affected by the compression of the particular ball that you are using. So for instance if you are using a high compression ball then yes you want to use a low compression bat and vice versa, so if you are using a low compression ball you would actually want to use a higher compression bat.

      Brian Conceicao There is no restitution on a high compression ball. That ball would either be dead, or made from rubber. You want all the trampoline effect you can get in a bat regardless of the ball.

    So, it just means that the bat compresses more or less?

    I'd like to see the difference between a brand new bat out of the wrapper and the same bat that has been "broken in".
    Where do I find someone who has one of these so I can test my bats. I have 4 bats and I need to find the one with the most pop and on which part of the bat is the best to face forward.
    Someone told me that for tournaments they will test it in 3 different location on the bat and, as long as it passes it two of the three, then it's okay to use and then you just use the part that didn't pass as the sweetspot. LOL.
    I think the bottom line is you want the lowest possible number?

    In slow pitch we want the lowest number possible for more trampoline effect, on the bad side in conference if the number is to low and compression fails it’s an illegal bat, good video by the way.

    After watching this video it leaves the viewer with no clue as to what effect compression has on a bat or how or if compression affects the pop of the bat.

      @@batdigest I did watch the entire video. My background is producing education video's so I have a pretty good understanding. You go back and forth on your opinion and say it matters but then it really doesn't matter and there's a ton of factors that affect it. From an outside perspective you really don't explain this very well. I suggest that you explain how compression works, how it affects bat performs, what it affects "pop" what other factors affect it etc. Just like other videos you mention bat speed, and swing speed but really go back and forth and don't explain anything very well. You also really do not explain whether or not a shaved bat is "hotter" or has "more pop".

    Is that a marucci pure fastpitch bat hanging on the wall? If so, how does that bat feel as far a quality and how's it perform?

    • @batdigest
      @batdigest  Před 5 lety

      Meh. It's not an LXT or XENO or Ghost USSSA. We have a write up on our site about it. That's the first generation of the bat and we think they have got better.

      @@batdigest thanks. I was looking at it for my daughter. I like maruccis woidentity baseball bats so wasn't sure how their fastpitch bats were. I got her a stealth speed. She does well with it. We looked at the new ghost and it says balanced but it was far from it. They had 2 and they both seemed to be end loaded compared to the xeno we checked out. It was nice and balanced but it was $150 more than the speed. Good job on the videos. Keep it up.

    I will say you are way off that a given bat with a lower compression number doesn't perform better than the same bat with a higher number. I have bats at the minimum number allowed by Pony that way out perform the same bat with a 100 higher commission rating! And I have had a bat removed from play because it dropped below the minimum allowed after using it for a game. If it doesn't make a difference they would let it be used instead of removing it from play.

    • @batdigest
      @batdigest  Před 5 lety +2

      Here's an article quoting SEVERAL actual bat engineers proving our claim is exactly right. They claim that bat compression are NOT one and the same with exit speeds.
      www.justbatreviews.com/blog/bat-compression-test-results/
      Just because they have rules doesn't mean the rules make sense. In addition to reading the article, listen to our Podcast (BatCast on itunes) with Jerry Garnett, world renown bat inventor. Non-linear designs allow for differences in compression and a lower compression does NOT ALWAYS mean better performance.
