  • If your Royal Caribbean Cruise on the Icon of the Seas, the Wonder of the Seas, or any other "of the Seas" stops at their private paradise of Labadee, (which is not actually a singular island), you are in for a treat. Sandy beaches, warm water, and big thrills await visitors... but not everything is included in the price of your cruise. This video gives you a complete breakdown of what the most popular activities and attractions cost on Labadee. #cruise #cruiseship #royalcaribbean

    Catching up with CZcams since I've been traveling for the last month and its so strange knowing Labadee is now closed indefinitely. I'm glad you got to experience it while it was still available.

    As you know we had the over water beach cabana once, no complaints. Sometimes you gotta spend a little money and treat yourself... Plus prices go up and down all the time.

    Floatie mats are free later in the afternoon when people ditch them on shore. The kayaking excursion is good if you don't mind aggressive Haitians peddling products. We also spent time in the free hammocks

    I'm always confused by how RCCL prices these cabanas. In the past I've spent significant time researching the Labadee cabana offerings and was still confused once we got there. And we too often see several not occupied even though they were "sold out" or were offered at crazy prices. You'd think they would drop to price to try to sell them all but alas, maybe they would rather take the loss than to devalue what some are paying for them. We've had the Nelly's Beach over the water cabanas a couple times but only when the price was

    I had the same experience on Coco Cay where there were staff I assumed were locals, just hanging out in the restrooms. Other areas seemed to have clusters of people hanging out, but I don't think they were ship staff. The ship staff must get irritated to see people not helping.

    the 3-4 times we have been to labadee, the day pass for the coaster has always been sold out but single rides were always available, unless you really needed a cabana, much better to just get the free beach chairs under a palm tree or umbrellas, service was better as well as entertainment...if you wanted the inflatables or kayaks then so be it...the zip line was expensive but worth it...

    If I ever manage to make it there, my fear-of-heights self is going on that zip line. I used to climb trees just to find a quiet spot to read, and now I'm afraid of heights??? Not okay with me. I've got to get rid of it somehow.
    It looks like you guys had a truly great time! I hope she'll go on some future cruises with you, too.

    I was really interested in seeing the prices for everything on the island. Thanks for sharing this info. I wonder if they let “old people” on the Arawak Aqua Park floats. Looks like it could be fun for a few minutes. 🤔

      Haha. I don't think there is an age limit for the floaty park! Let me know what you find out, please!

    I don't really want to do any of that stuff. I just like seeing animals and birds. I hate sand. I live in Florida and the beach is the backyard. I guess maybe a Lil hike and some BBQ would be a good day. I ve been on the sled coaster before and It was OK. But there is no slow lane so if you plan on going down slow and enjoying the view there will be a drunk guy riding your ass all the way down at some point. 😂

      Great video. I think all the upcharges are over the top. Budget minded cruiser. The zip line is something I would do.

    Newsflash: "Royal Caribbean pauses private beach calls in Labadee, Haiti", Franz Neumeier, Germany's most renowned cruise journalist, reports. Why? RC fears that Haitian people angry about the modern slavery practiced in Labadee by the shipping company will attack cruise guests.

  • @heicohomburg
    @heicohomburg Před 3 měsíci

    There are some things you forgot to tell your viewers. One of those: on a revenue of 100 USD, onboard the ship the company makes a profit of about 50 USD in average. On the privat island, they make a profit of around 95 USD in average. This may have something to do with the modern slavery practiced on the island, but this is only speculation by me.
