- Shoei GT Air Helmet Review
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/sh...
New for 2013, the Shoei GT Air is the newest addition to the Integrated Sunvisor collection from Shoei, joining the ranks of the Neotec and the new J-Cruise. The GT Air is purpose built for the touring rider who wants the creature comforts offered in the Neotec, but prefers a full face helmet. The GT Air uses the Shoei AIM shell to aerodynamically incorporate the sunvisor and the spoiler. The result is a sporty shape helmet that makes no compromise in outer shell or EPS liner to incorporate the internal sun visor. The GT Air will have 3 shell sizes and 4 EPS liners and is DOT rated only. The air flow of the GT Air is truly impressive and appropriately named. The over-sized top vent, dual channel EPS liner and large vent holes move an impressive amount of air over, creating a Mohawk of air over the head. With the dramatic increase in air, there is no increase in wind turbulence or noise. The new interior is more encompassing plush, and helps to better create surround the head. The GT Air also makes it easy for riders who use aftermarket bluetooth kits by positioning the sunvisor slide near the faceshield and even gives deep speaker cut-outs within the EPS liner. The GT Air will be offered in a variety of solid and graphic options.

Shoei RF 1000 saved my life this past Saturday. Shoei fan now for life!
I'm using this helmet three years later and it is still great. works well with my Sena 20s. Thanks Revzilla
Thank you for the feedback!
We will shoot graphical overviews of both the GT Air Journey and the Wanderer as soon as they are in stock. Stay tuned! ~Ali
Just got one with the Sena 10U Bluetooth. Love everything about this helmet. Good with eye glasses, Sena, air flow and comfort.
I bought this helmet about a note ago. The helmet is light weight and flows a ton of air. It is not as quite as I would like it to be for the price. The wide visor increases my ability to see the road. I ride an adventure bike in 85 degree weather and my head remains cool on long trips.
I think either would be a good option. Two other helmets that are specifically designed for un-faired (naked) bikes are the Shark Speed-R and the Arai Defiant. -CK
We are eager to shoot the graphics and as soon as they come in stock, we will produce videos. Stay tuned! ~Ali
The Shoei GT Air has some really nice features packed into the design. It's definitely worth a closer look. ~Ali
Thats true of just about any helmet vent to be honest. The airflow holes have to be large enough to actually give you decent airflow, and by nature are then big enough for small bugs. -CK
that sun visor is sick!!! I want one and I dont even have a bike right now!!!
As of right now, Shoei only offers clear in the CNS-1, the same shield used on the Neotec. There is an internal sun visor on the helmet that can be used on bright days. We know Shoei does plan on offering a smoke version at some point, be we do not have an ETA. ~Ali
I've used my GT-Air helmet for one year. I love it. Especially the integrated sun visor, it's awesome.
Bravo Shoei. The GT Air has a very well thought out feature package. Of course, it would be even better if it carried a Snell rating, but it's still a great lid. ~Ali
THe RX-Q is a great helmet. I'm sure you will be quite happy with it. ~Ali
The GT-Air definitely has the latest in technology from Shoei, and that includes way more than just the internal visor. Venting, aerodynamics, noise, and comfort should all be a step up from the RF-1100. With that said, I just recently test rode the new Arai Defiant, and I think it has the GT-Air beat in the ventilation category. -CK
As of right now, it looks like the CNS-1 faceshield, the same that is used on the Shoei Neotec, is only offered in clear. We'll fire a question off to Shoei to see if there will be a tinted option down the road. Stay tuned! ~Ali
I've owned this helmet for 2 weeks now.......worth every cent.
The airholes are a different shape, but the channels are very close in diameter. The Schuberth C3 has a similar airhole shape as well. -CK
