    I own an hvac company with 5 techs and I wish they were all as dedicated as you. I have a 16 year man who still makes mistakes everyday and doesn't feel bad about it so it's good to see someone trying to become a top mechanic.

    Tunnel vision can humble even the best techs. Keep up the great work man we are all human and the systems are not all the same. Sequence of operation and not tunnel vision is the key.

    If any if the fans are humming or barely spinning, 1st check the capacitor if it has one, 2nd touch the back part of the motor if its hot then you know that the motor is bad only if the capacitor is good. This also applies to the condenser fan motor, just put your hand on the top portion where the motor is mounted you can feel the heat difference sounds weird but it works. Also just because a pump looks dirty there's no reason to replace unless it failed. Also rust and cosmetics on the outside or inside unit is no real area of concern. The pitting and arching of the contactor is an area of concern and always check the ohms of the contactor it should range from 10-20 anything in-between those numbers is good. Just a few tips to help you out.

    • @AB_HVAC
      @AB_HVAC  Před měsícem

      I mean I checked the capacitor, the motor is getting power, and I'm not recommending replacing the pump based on looks but more son on its speed of pumping the water out. It definitely takes a good while for the pump get the water out but with the system being from 1994 I just feel it's better for them to understand where they sit with this system. It's 30yrs old, don't expect it to be clean and peachy with no immediate issues. Idk how long the home was sitting before they acquired it.

    each time you do a call you should stick to a regular sequence of checking and always start with basics. good job austin.

    • @AB_HVAC
      @AB_HVAC  Před měsícem

      That's something I definitely don't stick to (not without trying). I used to start by verifying low voltage on everything, starting at basic sequence of operations. But every year around summer time all that goes out the window and I just get like a chicken with my head cut off 😅
