- We headed to Liseberg for the first day of the 2019 season, during our visit we were given the chance to see the ride controls for Helix and Valkryia, as well as getting the chance to ride all of the rides many times throughout the day. It was Scott's third time at Liseberg (2017, 2018 previously) and Rich was visiting for the first ever time.

I'm really glad you guys love this park and Helix, because it absolutely deserves so much more credit than most people give it I feel. Everyone focuses too much on Phantasialand and Europa Park (which don't get me wrong are both still brilliant parks), but there's a certain charm and feel to Liseberg which makes it special to me. It's like everything you could ever want at an amusement park - short queues, loads of rides and attractions, brilliant opening hours, electrifying atmosphere, killer coasters, great cuisine and night rides. :)

Marhelorpe Totally agree, I think it’s well liked but overlooked and even I was guilty of over looking it originally.
This was a fantastic vlog gents, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My son and I had our first trip to Liseberg the weekend after you went, so watching this in the run-up got us both pretty fired up! I really couldn’t praise the place enough, it is a stunning park, faultless I would say. Helix was gorgeous (we had over 20 rides over the two days!), but the real surprise for me was Balder. I knew it would be good, but my goodness it was better than good! Certainly our best Woodie by far. Our response was exactly the same as yours. On the back row, the airtime on that thing is ridiculous. And that first drop! I honestly don’t think I have ever had that much fun on a coaster. And really, that’s what it is all about! 😁 Keep up the great content chaps!
Russell Haworth Thanks Russell, Balder is a truly amazing coaster and with Helix getting so much hype it tends to fall under the radar.
I am a proud swede that you liked Liseberg so much!
Marcus Brill, we love it there and will be back in a few weeks 😀
A great park with an awesome selection of rides, but more than just that, a park that “gets it”! It has that like-ability factor throughout the whole experience and that makes it so very memorable! Great Vlog!
MGW386 They’re excellent in every department, like you say they “get it” and know how to press the right buttons with everyone they meet, a great park run by great people.
Great to see Pontis , Mullett in his element great rides and weather looked dry and busy
thanks 4 another great vlog guys, helix back or front row best
kkrispy2009 P Back row, but only just
Cracking vlog mate!!!! Never seen you so hyped and happy, that park does something by the looks of things that’s remarkable, I’m sooo looking forward to getting there some time soon!
Craig Toy I can’t wait to go back mate
Another stunning vlog from this awesome looking park!...im determined to get here for the first time this year!! 🖒
Marc Dawson It’s well worth it Marc, feels like old school BPB to an extent too.
Great vlog. Outstanding park that's getting better and better.
Matt Man Thank you, a real shame Andreas the CEO has now left but we love how much it’s improving.
Fully agree with what you say about Liseberg its such a fantastic park :)
Great vlog guy's, love the Liseberg prints.
Andy Jarvis Thanks Andy, I stupidly forgot to get the merch I wanted 😵
Liseberg is my favourite park as well, for the reasons you already mentioned Scott. The staff are amazing, operations are slick and downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. I believe that a lot of the staff are trained in mechanics and engineering so that in the event of a stoppage the ride is very quickly up and running again. Also got to mention the atmosphere on the park is always stunning and the feel for the nostalgia and history that is very carefully preserved is just beautiful. Of course Helix is the big reason to go to Liseberg but you can easily waste a few hours doing Flumeride, Gasten Hotel, Lisebergbanan, Jukebox and all the classics and it's often nice to just sit with a drink and admire the skyline with Helix and Atmosfear on the hill.
Amusement Archive Yeah, all very true and that’s right about the ride teams, they are trained to fix minor issues to prevent downtime, so no waiting on engineers to trundle over as we see in the UK.
Really need to get to Liseberg, the rides look incredible and in general it looks like a beautiful park. Great vlog guys.
SpringyTales You’d love it mate, definitely
i love liseberg so much- i’ve been going since 2011 since i’m part swedish but seeing this makes me want to go back but i sadly live in england so cant :(
Cracking vlog guys!! Another park I’d love to go too!!
nicola torkington Thanks Nicola, it’s an incredible park and feels similar to “old school” BPB
Good video guys. I can’t wait to go to this park when I visit for the first time in mid June!
Gypsymuffin You’ll love it 😀
Great behind-the-scenes footage!
I cant wait to ride Helix!!!
I would love to visit this park Someday 🤞😁
Really great to see them showing off their history I just wish Pleasure Beach would start doing that again like they used to.
Doug Briglmen You would fall in love with it Doug
Park looks amazing
Great Vlog from Liseberg Scott. I definitely would love to go one day, sounds like an incredible amusement park.
Attractions Hub It is one of the best in the world for sure
That’s how I also want to be greeted at Liseberg when I go, Pontus smiling behind me.😂😂 + a four hour behind the scenes tour
Coaster Onrider It was a great video intro from Pontus, we’d briefly met off camera ten minutes previous 😀
Awesome video guys..name a park with the most flawless rollercoasters..
great vid lads! This park looks right up my street in every way! cant wait for July. Helix looks amazing, i know its gonna be right up their for me considering how much i adore Icon. Also, that helix black tshirt will be mine 😍
Airtime John They need some bigger sizes mate, biggest I could find was medium so I still don’t have one!! 😓
Can’t wait for July now!
Pleasure Beach Experience ohh no, thats fine! I'm only a medium 😉😂😂
Airtime John No XL, no party 😂
Going to Liseberg for the first time in about 10 years, extremely excited to go again with the "new" rides
I used to play Roller Coaster Tycoon so much with my daughter. Classic game! 🎢🎢👍
Tiffany Lehan I still love it now, but rarely find the time for it sadly.
Im going there for my first time in July. I literally can't wait
NoIkea yeah but I live far away
Cubie doo I’m back again in July and possibly for Halloween
Pontus is a legend!
Great video as always! You briefly touched on the subject of Helix's seatbelts and the idea that the park might remove them, are you able to elaborate on this please?
I've only been on Helix pre seat belts but from my understanding they don't affect the ride experience hardly at all but do affect the throughput a fair bit so it would be nice to hear if they do get removed. Keep up the great content!
crazyurbanmyth The plan is to keep the seat belts but change how they’re used, for example they may get completely new restraints which come fitted with lap bars as standard, the throughput is being badly affected as it is.
Awesome new intro
Good vlog . I’ve only been once but I love it
Thanks, we really do love it there.
@@yourexperienceguide I went on an ECC event and only found out a week before that helix and banan would be shut ..but even without those two the place left a strong impression on me. It has a great vibe during the Christmas period with an ice show and they turn atmosphere into a huge Christmas tree. Can't wait to go back to ride helix. Good luck with your American trip plans
Helix is a mindblowing ride, #1
Jordy Totally agree, the airtime is incredible
Icon better than Taron is a bit of a head scratcher. Really can't say I agree, but to mention them in the same conversation is a credit to the great ride that Icon is and we're lucky to have such a great ride in the UK.
Alex Carr It’s certainly a controversial comment from mullet, I think they’re about level to be honest.
Great vlog👏. Hopefully get there soon. What are the pleasure beach experience events that you do ?
David Jenkins Coaster club events with ERTs and behind the scenes tours
When I went I thought helix was number 1 but now I have no Desire to go back and ride it where as with Taron, Red Force and Balder I do. Weird because I was so sure
Where’s the PortAventura World video? I’m so excited to see it.
Berry United XI I started working on it last night, I went to PortAventura on Thursday and then Liseberg on Saturday, on the Friday in between it was a quick turnaround for me to get my stuff organised as well as looking after my son. It’s coming, I promise!
Loved this vlog guys! How come you didn’t review Valkyria though? Was looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Wam Sise I am feeling a bit silly about missing that out right now 🤦🏻♂️
I can safely say that it’s the best B&M Dive Coaster that I’ve done so far.
Pleasure Beach Experience Haha! Amazing news, cheers man :-)
enjoyed this and i hope BPB watched it too. the parks history has always been a big thing for lee and we can not believe that BPB has seemed to have lost its interest in promoting this. Dont get us wrong we love BPB and is are most visited park we just think they could watch and take in your comments on this beautiful HISTORIC park
inger taylor BPB have good connections with Liseberg, I wish they’d be more like them though!
I love Helix and Liseberg... But I’m definitely team Taron... It’s close though and they deffo have very different strengths.
Theme Park Life Fair enough mate, Taron went down in my estimations after riding it in January, it just felt a bit over hyped after my initial “wow this is the best” thought process
Pleasure Beach Experience I know it’s cliche, but it’s true, sometimes seemingly similar coasters have such different strengths that it’s really difficult to draw a fair comparison. I love Taron’s intense powerful launches, raw speed, and twisted airtime moments. Helix doesn’t have them, but it has so many other things going for it that it doesn’t need that. It’s a brilliant, fun, ride. After 16 rides today, it’s defo my number 3. I love it.
Balder is my top woodie, hands down!!!
Having said that #GoTeamTaron 😂😂😂
So whould you say that opening day is the best day for not long queue time?
I've only been to one of their opening days (this one) and it chucked it down all day.
Have you been to Kolmården and tried the best roller coaster in Europe, Wildfire?
Marcus It’s on my to-do list
How much do you guys usually pay for the whole trip here and where do you book your accomodation and flights? I would love to make the trip very very soon!
Tagon Killick™ We paid £105 each for the flights and £80 each for the hotel
You can fly from stansted from as little as £40 return, its a must visit park
Oh I need to visit here soon, it looks stunning!! Great vlog lads
Mark Forrest You would love it Mark!
One day...
I felt sick just watching that Mechanica in motion especially after exiting that calming area!
Segasocks Don’t worry there’s a calming beer garden across from mechanica
have you been on Steel vengeance?
Marcus Yeah!
Where do you fly from?
Brendan Craven Spoiler alert, I mention it in the vlog 😅
What are the dates of the July event?
Brendan !!! The end of July, it has now sold out though.
Is it a easy park to get to from Manchester?
Royal recordings I’m going tomorrow for the first time from Manchester. I used Ryanair for flights and booking.com for accommodation there’s plenty of hotels hostel right near the park. And you can get a bus or taxi to Gothenburg from the airport.
Royal recordings Not really unless you plan to go Wednesday to Sunday; that’s easily done with Ryanair.
First like and comment
Kyle Ogden 🔥
Great vlog as per. Taron is miles better than Icon, the pacing alone with the forceful lsm launches. Icon is too slow. Love the look of Helix tho
Icon should just launch in overspeed mode all the time
Rich S I like Taron but it feels over hyped now I’ve had a lot of rides on it, I over hyped it initially too after my first goes on it.
Where did you fly from?
Ben Holland Heathrow (said about this in the vlog)
@@yourexperienceguide Must have missed that bit making a brew. Hahaha. It's such a ball ache of a park to get to as I'm from Manchester and there are no direct flights
@@solskjaer1195 you can fly from manchester on a Wednesday or Sunday and stansted nearly every day, flights cheap as £40 return
@@robertowen8407 Really? That's good to know. Everytime I have looked at going it's always been with 1 stop. Mustn't have been Wednesday or Sunday when I looked.
I wish I could go there
But we don’t have the money
Thomas Makepeace Keep an eye out for cheap flights 😀
Big one better than all them rides just saying. Best ride in the world for me 👍
мαя¢υs It’s God tier for me but not top 5 worthy
Not to be offensive or anything but you kinda look like a beaver
i eat frogs Oh well 🤷🏻♂️
