    What year is this? My solenoid doesnt have that cap on top but there is a yelow/black and a black wire running to 2 bolts on bottom of solenoid. ( looks like a lawnmower solenoid was put on mine)

      2003 . Yours should look like the first one I show on the table, the one I’m taking off is an aftermarket with higher amperage, which I ended up going back with. You can find it in J&P

    Hi Mark...hello from New Zealand downunder. My intruder has no power whatsoever. Is this why you had to install a new solenoid. Done all the usual checks i.e battery and fuses and connectors. But to no avail. Makes me think it must the solenoid.

      Roger (APPfordable APPs) If everything seems to be working but your bike will not turn over then it’s probably your solenoid. But if you have no headlights ,horn,& turn signals or anything of that sort , then it’s not the solenoid , you would have electrical issues or a bad battery . These bikes are extremely power-hungry when it comes to electricity

      @@markputnam4902 Hi Mark. Thanx for the input. Yes it is electrical. I'll have to test everything and chase it down. Thank you for your time.

      Roger (APPfordable APPs) I really wish I could be more help I know that’s a really vague reply but these bikes are known for having Grimmlin type electrical problems which can literally appear out of nowhere and be extremely difficult to find.

      @@markputnam4902 Hi Mark. It ended up being the hydraulic clutch switch. The little plastic switch under the clutch lever. I unscrewed it and found that the little plastic toggle had worn away and was no longer engaging with the lever so I by passed the switch altogether by splicing the 2 wires together. She starts everytime now. Thought I would share Thanx for your time.😃

      Roger (APPfordable APPs) That’s awesome brother yes please share. I know I haven’t uploaded in a while but I’ve had some health problems come up and it’s been a rough year I think I’m about through it now and I’m hoping to get back on the bike this summer. I already have tons of cars and upgrades just waiting to be installed I intended to make videos on all of them I was hoping that I could possibly make this a goto channel for the Intruder community. I felt like I was off to a good start but life happens LOL but hopefully be looking for some uploads starting to trickle in from me in the coming months. Thanks again for sharing your experience. Be Safe out there.

      Have you recently changed the solenoid? You're solenoid, it's bad it's fused.

    • @markputnam4902
      @markputnam4902  Před 2 lety +1

      When you go to replace it do not buy from eBay I know it is expensive but get $300 one from Suzuki it's the only one that will work. These bikes are very power hungry and they've got a lot of compression it takes a lot to crank it, if you buy the 25 or $10 ones they will immediately fuse and you'll have the same problem you do now
