Is an OLD S23 Ultra BETTER than NEW?

- I LOST my S23 Ultra somewhere on the streets of London.
Instead of wishing it to come back to me, I just bought another one. But I bought a refurbished one to test if they are good value or not.
So, in this video, I try and answer the question, is a refurbished S23 Ultra worth it compared to a new phone?

The S23U might be the most beloved Galaxy since the S10 Plus i think.
Throw S21 Ultra in that mix too
@@techwithbenefits
I guess there's also the Notes 10+/20U.
@@WallyWestDefenseAttorney I went from the note 10+ to S23U. I adored the 10+
@techwithbenefits that black S21U was top... and still is more comfortable than the next 3
Love my S23 ultra, got it in the red. Love it. It's a keeper while my S24 ultra will not be...that says it all. They really should have left the 10x optical zoom alone...s24 is definitely inferior in that regard
Nice video, but the title is a lie. This is a different phone, but in your title you say it is the same. You should lean more to something like "is a refurbished phone as good as a new phone?" I enjoy your videos, but hate when the title or thumbnail is not entirely truthful.
I AGREE - I thought he recovered it using Samsung Find My Device app !!!
I agree with your statement. Woke up early this morning and changed the thumbnail and the title to better reflect what the video was. Thank you!
I bought a refurbished S23U in May 2024 from back market here in the UK with its appearance listed as fair. I expected, due to the warnings on the website, a gadget with scuffs and scratches but when I opened the carefully wrapped package, it was spotless. All the buttons worked, no lags when I turned it on. I still can't understand what their warnings was all about. If I didn't make the order myself, I would have argued it was brand new. It cost £506 and I got 512GB storage with 12GB of ram. I've updated the software to the latest and it runs like new. Buying a refurbed has been the best idea I came up with this year. I hope to trade it in later this year for an S24U. Hope I can keep it in pristine condition to boost the value🤞
It honestly surprised me. I was truly expecting a dirty well used phone, but it was perfect for me!
I love my s23 Ultra thanks to you I made the right choice to buy it
read my upper comment - too big mess in Samsung
samsung flagships still have screen burn problems in 2024 - outrageous
Hello
To find your phone, have you thought about the Samsung location service?
The phone was off when it was lost, it's last location was clocked before it turned off which was a few days before I lost it unfortunately 😅
Im glad you got an S23 Ultra back and thanks for your honesty and updating the title. I saw the title earlier and was expecting an epic story of how a man down underwent a journey to London to track down his lost phone..
Still, nice to see some praise for a refurb.
You touched on a good point though. Samsung is quick to stop producting last year's model, and that applies to accessories, too. Here in the UK, Samsung no longer have screen protectors for the S23 Ultra.
A few years ago, bsck in the days of Galaxy S6, I was enjoying myself in the backyard pool, having a blast. Something felt weighty in my trunks...yep, the phone. It's dead, Jim!
I found another on Amazon refurbished (I got the carrier-locked big V) and it did fine. When it got rheumatiz, I opted for a 7 edge in the days of S9. I didn't care for the power button fingerprint. The main thing I learned was that unlocked ones are usually less expensive and more plentiful. Whenever I upgrade, I stick with unlocked now; no carrier bloat.
I bought a refurbished S21st ultra I would buy another refurbished phone.
Another goat of the smartphone world! Great pick up
I bought a "km 0" S23 Ultra 256Gb 8Gb for 552€, 24 months at 23€ each. It is an excellent phone, I had the S23 and S23 plus. I gave them to my daughters. The S23 is so comfortable and is my favorite, but I take many pictures, so I enjoy doing that with the Ultra.
It was with Orange Spain.
Awesome. Sounds like you got a great deal
love my s23 ultra
Makes you wonder doesn't it. Is the S24 really worth double a re-furb.. Is the ZF6 worth double the ZF5. Certainly hovering over a refurb ZF5 once unpacked happens and the price drops as everyone trades in :)
Small help I have a S23 ultra and I am using my phone under maximum battery protection and mostly on mobile data my battery life isn't that great any fixes?
Turn the performance profile to "light" and turn the resolution to 1080 or 720
Great content. Fortunately, I have insurance on my phone from my carrier. If not, I would buy a referb from Amazon.
Thank you mate 🙏 I should have taken out travel insurance before I left, but was a rookie and forgot lol
@@techwithbenefits lol
But that's a pretty good deal! I use Rebeelo for refurbished stuff.
Lf battery stay full day no need to buy new one
Refurbished is a great way to go long as the screen isn't scratched
I just bought one from best buy and was holding my breath when i opened the box haha, mine came absolutely prestine though ive bought some jacked up "refurb" phones before
Steve?!?!?!
why not sure samsung find my to locate your lost one?
The phone was off when it was lost, it's last location was clocked before it turned off which was a few days before I lost it unfortunately 😅
My old S23 Ultra is way better than my current S24 Ultra that's for sure.
I paid less for my 24 ultra at samsung app than you paid for your 23.
S24 ultra is so much Better
*I getting rid off my Galaxy S23 Ultra for Pixel 9 Pro next month - because of it is TOO MASSIVE brick and overloaded with USELESS features like sPen (which I believe it belongs to tablets - NOT smartphones) - I like SIMPLICITY of Pixels without IDIOTIC apps duplications (Samsung and Google) - gosh even Samsung is giving up their own Samsung Messages in favour Google Message - they abandon/downgraded own 10x zoom camera and they are solid rumours they want SONY camera sensors in S25 Series - then Exynos / Snapdragon MESS. They are LOOSING their way of creating OWN smartphone - TOO BIG MESS in Samsung!*
So many incorrect statements in here.
S Pen is NOT a useless feature. It's a tool that adds value to the device that no other phone can provide.
Samsung services paired with Google services offers users choice, and doesn't impact phone performance in any way what so ever.
Google Messages app is specifically designed by Google for Samsung phones and has been the default in most countries for years now (since S21 Ultra)
The 5x zoom is a better sensor in every single way compared to the 10x, it just excels in different things and caters for zoom range that more people use vs what the 10x was doing.
Exynos v Snapdragon is an argument that literally less than 5% of Samsung users care about. 95% of S24 users wouldn't even know the size of their battery, let alone the name of the chip inside it
Speak for yourself. Some of us love the extra features a flagship offers. For those that don't want these, maybe a non Ultra model is more your thing. The great thing here is that Samsung and others give you the choice of several variants to choose from.
@techwithbenefits SNAP 8 GEN 3 - BATT = 5000 - OFF THE TOP OF HEAD = GEN 4 IS GOING TO INSANE - xp chip in samsung computer crap no npu - rsc text
@@AppleReviews the S-pen is a non-negotiable feature for me. It's one of the most important features I use. Nothing beats being able to sign a soft copy document and email it off on the go. The Dex feature means I don't have to fire up my laptop always when in transit.
Truth is, the note and ultra series cater more to serious tasks rather than the more playful uses. Of course they are equipped to play as well but then, if you don't use the serious features, it's a bit of an overkill
@AppleReviews the ultra phones are very big, but you knew that when you bought it?
The S-pen, a reason to complain? Again, you knew it had one when you bought it.
Doubling of apps? How is it you did not know this?
Stick to your "Apples." They shouldn't offend you too much.
@3:47 - what's the point you covered IMEI number - if you want I can tell you what it is? Do you want to know how?
Nah
How?
