The capital city of Muscat has been hardest hit.
Over the past two days, 154 mm of rain has already fallen in the metropolis.
As a result of bad weather, the streets of Muscat were flooded with water.
Meteorologists said the low pressure area will affect the weather in the country from Monday to Thursday.
Omani television warned residents to stay at home.
Schools and universities have also asked their students to stay at home.
Traffic jams formed on the roads, many cars fell into a water trap.
Residents report damage to their homes due to downpours.
There are casualties, hospitals are operating at full capacity.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to deal with the aftermath of heavy rains in Muscat.
