"I bet these are not gonna be sour at all" - famous last words
especially the apple flavour is killing me all the time xD I love to buy it at a backery on the way too elementary school best candy :D
And yeah, Center Shocks are incredibly sour. We always got them as kids and they're great haha
Aber nach paar Sekunden ist der geschmack weg :D
After a few seconds the taste is gone :D
I could just see all the Germans Faces light up with joy the second he said It’s not gonna be sour

You don't like milk chocolate, because American milk chocolate (Hershey's!) tastes like vomit! (No joke, there is a scientific reason for that.)

German chocolate does not contain vomit aroma (butyric acid) , unlike most American chocklates
haha that is the reason. All of the most candys in the US has so much chemicals and sugar. Never read the compound in the us!
A little tip from Germany open the chips from below and then shake them a little bit then you have all the spices on it 😉👍

"This is probably not gonna taste any sour at all"
I knew the reaction after that statement would be gold, cause even the memory of that sourness on my tongue made me flinch so hard, and the last time I ever had one was as a kid.
So your facial expressions gave me life, laughed so hard, thank you :D
No matter which German chips you eat. The main thing is that are Chipsfrisch from funny-frisch. Formerly the standard variety, today they called "ungarisch".
True
I dont like Chipsfrisch ungarisch at all.
Word!
No way. Chio Peperoni are Germany's best potato chips. Chipsfrish is crap, they are totally overrated
The sour part of Center Shock is basically the fun gimmick of the candy.
I remember back when I was a kid, we used these as a little fun dare.
Basically, you just wanted to see how well or bad your friends handled the sour flavour.

@@mitffrost1559 I know it, distribute the bags to a few people, all put the entire contents of the bag in their mouth, tell them not to swallow yet, then delay the whole game with a speech or something until the foam almost comes out of their nose and then let a bottle of vodka or corn brandy go around.
the water combo is nasty anyways xD

Fun fact, HARIBO means Hans Riegel Bonn. Hans Riegel was the founder of the company, and named it
after his initials HA for Hans, RI for Riegel, and BO for his hometown and company location Bonn.
On the bags in the US it says:" kids and grown-ups love it so, the happy world of Haribo!"

This was interesting. I've seen quite some Americans and Canadians try German candy, and usually they hate most except the overly sweet chocolate and the insanely sweet artificial flavored stuff.
It was cool to see an American actually enjoying sour sweets.
I haven't watched your other tasting vids, so maybe the answer is in there, but do you like liquorish?

oh no! The NIppon you had melted together in the package! Usually they are slices you can just take out and enjoy. But I'm glad you liked them.
PEZ need to be unpacked before you put them into the dispenser, the paper will block the mechanism otherwise.
Ahoi Brause Bonbons are candy bricks. You just eat them and enjoy them turning fizzy in your mouth. the Ahoi Brause Pulver (the powdered stuff) can be dissolved into water but when I was a kid we just poured the powder into our mouth and tried to keep the foam in.

Center Shocks are a bit like your (american) "Toxic Waste" or "Warheads" candys, but as a gum. 10 secons sour, then...well, that was it.
Ahoi Brause is goat! But you should try out the "Brause Brocken". Only the bags are meant to be used in water.
Hitschies are also great. You should try out the "saure Drachenzungen" from the same company.

My absolute favorite sweet from Germany is Raffaello. It's a small ball filled with a coconut cream and an almond inside, absolutely delicious. Or what is really very good, Kinder Bueno, you have to try it
I just like everything which tastes like Waldmeister (Woodroof). And I really have a thing for the "Nussbeißer", a choklate with whole Haselnuts, which Aldi sells. Oh, and I love, love, love Katzenpfötchen, which is a kind of liquorisch. But in general...it is just a matter of mood and what happens to be available. I am actually not big on having sweets in the house all the time. But sometimes I get weak whenever something I like is on sale, or whenever something which is seasonal is back in stock.

Würzig does not necessarily mean spicy, it can also mean well seasoned/flavorful. For example, „würzig“ is sometimes also used to describe certain kinds of beer.

With Aero "Luftschokolade", you have to take a big chunk in your mouth and chew it, not nibble off a tiny bit. People like Aero because of the mouth feeling of its spongy texture, when the chocolate almost instantly crumbles in your mouth due to many air bubbles inside.
Those nippon may have got hot, because they stuck together. But if you liked them, you should try "Sun Rice" when you're in germany. For me MUCH better than nippon.

The disappointment from the little Ahoj-Brause tabs not dissolving in water, unlocked a hidden childhood trauma inside of me
The "Ahoi Brause" you had was indeed meant for eating like a sweet. But the origin of Ahoi Brause is indeed something you put in water to dissolve. Except the taste was kinda disgusting. When we had them as kids, we would usually rather open the tiny bag and dip our finger in them to eat it, it was sweet, sour and fizzy. I figure most of the stuff is sugar plus a bit of aroma and food colors, so that's why it was good that way. I guess the sweets were created realizing that many did it like that, though they lacked the fizziness (which probably came from the regular Ahoi Brause being supposed be dissolved in water).
There was also another product (from a different brand) that came with a bag with 3 compartments, 2 with a mild, Ahoi Brause like powder (but much milder and less fizzy), and the 3rd with a kind of sugar cane you could use for dipping instead of your finger, and you could of course eat at the end.
Das nicht so tief Rüdiger kam total unerwartet.
Absolut geil geschnitten. 👍

There ahoi powder which dissolves in water, but the kind you got I think you supposed to keep it in your mouth like a hard candy.

These are Ahoi Brause Candies XD but you're damn right there is a powdery version you put into a drink. We also use them to drink it as a shot called "Kobra" (Korn & Brause) were you put the powder into your mouth an den drink up the clear shot. It's also finde with Vodka though. The company now is doing some new inventions since "Brause" isn't the thing it was maybe a few decades ago so there's literally Ahoi Brause Ice Cream, which is by the way definetly worth a try ;-)
