I highly recommend the video 'Wie Deutschland R/Place dominierte' by rvnx mango. He is a rather big streamer (for german standards) and tried to place his logo there on day one. On day 2 he ended up in the middle of it all, becoming one of the main collab streamers for the official german r/place group. He gives TONS of insight from the german r/place frontier (no joke, we really weren't there to play, looking back it was a strategic war), as well from a german streamer that was part of it (Also, when american streamers chose to attack the german flag, it was Mangos stream community who flooded the american streamer chats - instilling fear in your enemies' heart is half the victory in a war). Unfortunately he has only german sub titles and he talks FAST. Like, even i as a german have sometimes problems to follow his highspeed speech.

Well, if Germany has imperial ambitions again, you can't fight them alone. It takes almost an entire alliance of the world to stop them. And when R/Place came out and everyone was just busy with themselves, it was clear that nobody was going to come and stop us.
Actually, a lot of people tried. Most approached from outside though, and by the time they go close to our allies and partners we were already finished planning countermeasures. Oh, and of course every night they would mess with our flag, even though we from the night prevented to be run over completely. And we only went to bed when the rest of Germany got up and started the clean up.
