Great tune bro! Ever since I started playing Dave tunes a few yrs. ago, it opened up a whole new world of playing style especially Dave's right hand strumming!! The stretches help to, and I've been playing guitar for over 35 years! Dave writes such great tunes... I've been working on a few of Tim's solos, He's a frigging madman!!! Ever notice when they play there acoustic shows, Dave of usually playing a nice Strongbridge cutaway, while Timmy's over the ripping solos all over the neck even up at the last few frets with a Martin dreadnought full body!!!! Wow... I always comment to my wife that they should swap guitars, make it a little easier for Tim! He's probably the most underrated professional guitarist ever!! So many people don't realise that there is still a full time touring super-group!! Carter, amazing underrated drummer, Stephan is amazing on that bass, Jeff needs no explanation (He was a fleck tone! That's a pretty good resume! Now he's got Buddy on keys, and top is all off with Tim playing lead!! SUPERGROUP!!!!

Dumb question. Can you give a some pointers on the strum pattern and the strings your are strumming. I'm just not getting the sound you are getting. I'm also pretty new to playing but love DM. Thanks.
Not a dumb question at all, I’m just terrible at explaining strumming patterns. Typically, most of what Dave strums are down strokes on most songs. I also try to keep the fat part of my right palm over the saddle near the bridge and it gives a slightly muted sound on the strings of the sound is off. I know this probably doesn’t help at all but it’s the best I got! Just keep jamming with it and practicing over and over!
