I had a black Chet Atkins SST cuz of DMB. It’s a very interesting sounding guitar. Thick neck and heavy. To me, it always sounded very bright. It was a bit unnatural but it was cool live because it cut through the mix if you have drums, bass, violin and sax playing where a natural acoustic can get a lil more lost. I eventually sold it in favor of a better acoustic.

Carson, please end your instructions with you playing it from start to finish without breaks for instruction - play the complete song. You sound great, so it would be really cool to hear you play it completely through. It would be nice to listen too and sing along with while you're playing! If you have time to add the complete acoustic version in a separate video for us that would be awesome! Wonderful song to share with others as well. Thanks for the consideration!!

Totally epic video Carson! Thank you for this and the time put into it. It’s very detailed and appreciated. It’s cool, the Martin on Listener Supported is a Dave signature guitar. I almost bought one. It was limited to 1,500 or something this that. I want to say it was made with African wood, if I remember correctly. I actually have a brochure on the guitar. It has a ton of detail about it. If you would like some photos of it, I’d be glad to share. Anyway, I really enjoy all of your videos.

I’d love it if someday Dave was interviewed specifically about out his guitar playing and everything about it. This may sound crazy to some, but I admire Dave’s playing just as much as someone as iconic as SRV. Dave’s style and creativity has captivated me for 30 years.
