Now I'm here wondering how such rules even cane about. Seems pretty random to me.
No, it’s not random :) It’s all about the cases. 1 takes Nominative singular form. 2, 3, 4 take Genitive singular. 5, 6 and more take Genitive plural 😊 It’s complex, but definitely not random
@@LinasLessons I suppose that makes sense, thanks. Then I guess for the higher numbets not all numbers have the same genitive endings so more changes occur. But then there's still the question as to how using different cases for different numbers came about.
@@jonistan9268 it’s the same rule for all the numbers.
Like:
У меня 1 друг. У меня 222 друга. У меня 1000 друзей.
The only difficulty here is that Genitive plural has many different forms and endings, that’s why it seems complicated. But it’s still only one case :)
