    Nice purchase. Had to get this as my main iaito is back home in California and was not able to pack it with me for my move to Japan. I purchased the Miyamoto Musashi Kaneshige Koshirae: Legend Series back in 2010 and never needed to use another iaito until now. The Toryumon is a great substitute until I can make arrangements to have my main iaito shipped to me. Tozando is a great company, I have yet to bedisappointed by any of their products. Which style of iai are practicing? Do you also do tameshigiri?

    Quick note: an Iaito, by definition, can never be sharp as it HAS to be made from a Zinc and Aluminium alloy that simply cannot not hold an edge. If a blade is made of anything else than that Zinc Aluminium alloy it is no longer an iaito, it would then simply be a dull Shinken. A Dull shinken can still be used in practise if ones teacher agrees with it but it is, as you said, not recommended for beginners. This is because an iaito isnt sharp but most importantly it is MUCH lighter than a steel blade

      @@tommybrowne8759 True. And she does do that with the main items of her Channel which is Lightsabers. You Can't really review something when you don't have any experienced with it you can just give your first reactions. At the time of this video she just Started Iaido and this was her First sword. Maybe an Update Video now that she has had it for a few years and is actually training Though I agree there aren't many videos out there of entry level Tozando Iaito. They are highly recommended by Iaido practitioners for quality but there are only a handful of reviews and those are mostly for the Higher end models. Most of the sword videos are for Cutters but you can't do any of that with these so they tend to make for boring videos.

    Why do you touch the blade with your fingers? I mean now you have to get through an hour of cleaning ritual to get it ready for practice. Never grab your blade with the bare hands folks.. that's like the basics of etiquette in swordsmanship. Good day.

    • @crocketgsxr6
      @crocketgsxr6 Před 2 lety

      she was just showing it's not sharp, Plus it's aluminum alloy so your skin oils won't rust it anyway and they clean up really quickly with a cloth. no need for ritual, it's just wipe and go. there are also plenty of styles that do touch the blade, just don't do it to the edge.
