If you trace and hold your pencil on Procreate and then just touch other finger on the screen it will lock in 15degrees angles so you can make it perfectly vertical
And also if you’re making shapes and put other finger on the screen you can make perfect circles (not elipses) and perfect squares, triangles etc, all with same sides and angles and etc

You can touch out of paper area to select all copy and group them
just a tip in using procreate you can do a layer that you don't need to erase the line you have created. Also before you export your image make sure you remove the background and use png so that when you save it, it appears transparent right away. That way you don't need the use of background eraser.

I cheated by making my brush way thicker for the ring outlines and then merging the layers together. Went over it with a white airbrush and under that did a dark grey airbrush to give it more depth. Thanks for this technique!

I can’t erase the line after inserting my metallic on my ring. I noticed before you went and erased yours you couldn’t either, but edited out how to gain access to erase the ring. I’m stuck with the line through the ring
When I place the circles at the ends of my curved line and then move them behind they don't look like metal clips going into paper. The line cuts off just before the circles and does not overlie them. I've tried it a couple of times with the same result. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks.
You probably have the black circle over layering the circles, so you have to move them down. I hope that was kinda clear😅

She just saved them into her camera roll and used the rounded corner box where you can selected an image as a fill! Hope it helps!
Hi, thanks for this video, I just want to know what is the proper size for GoodNotes , I tried A4 stander size and it is bigger than GoodNotes paper, please help me with that.
I normally use the "screen size" option in KeyNote when creating planners. When I create rings or stickers, I also use the screensize option in Procreate. I then crop both of the down. To me, this is easier than determining the perfect amount of draw space.
How do I save the one I made on keynote as an image?
Hit the three dots in the top right corner, and click export. Choose the file type you want to export is as (I personally recommend images), then you can use the app Magic Eraser to give it a transparent background. Hope this helps!

HELP lol - I just spent literally 2 hours making this and it looks like a 9 year old did it but I love it as my first attempt - but now that it is made and I saved it as an image I am not sure what to do next - so I am looking at the questions here. Go into the Setting apps on your iPad. Scroll to Keynote. You'll be able to change it there. This setting isn't within the actual Keynote app. I hope this helps!

Love your video!! I AM SO FRUSTRATED by keynote though. I have the new ipad pro and the apple pencil 2nd generation. Every time I try to move an object (like I see you doing on the video) it instead reverts to drawing on the object. Is there a way to turn off the drawing feature while working on manipulating circles and such to create the rings? Please help. You are the absolute BEST video for explaining how to CREATE a digital planner. Everyone else is just showing how to utilize one. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Go into the settings of your iPad (not in Keynote, the actual grey gear app that comes with the iPad). Scroll down to Keynote and adjust the settings there. I hated the fact that the pencil would always draw too, so I figured out how to change it in the settings. Hope this helps!

So helpful! But I can’t seem to stop turning on the drawing feature. I can’t move anything with the Apple Pencil like your do. Do u have any suggestions?
This is a setting you actually have to change in the "Settings" app on your iPad. There should be a Keynote option in Settings for which you can think toggle through to turn off the drawing feature with the Apple Pencil.
KDigitalStudio Co I found it in the settings of the IPad, not in the settings of the app. On the Ipad settings you go to keynotes and there you can select the behavior of the pencil.

Stephanie Cramer I was having this same problem & in settings I’m in Keynote however it only gives me the option to Select & Scroll with Apple Pencil. Is that suppose to be on or off? Thank you in advance
REAL SEX TALK WITH DR RYLIE If you turn the select and scroll on, it will let you use the Apple Pencil to select and resize stuff in Keynote without it constantly turning on the drawing function.

If you uncheck the backroad layer and save it as a png you shouldn’t have to go to any other app
Samara Nicholls Hi! Because I was working on a new project in Procreate, the white background was essentially “locked” once I started drawing on it and adding several layers to decorate my ring. Because of this, unchecking the white background would not have removed it :( you can avoid using Magic Eraser, however, to remove the white background if you begin my drawing on a transparent background and following the same steps as above. White backgrounds can only be unchecked if you are working with 1-2 layers, any more than that (like in my case) will not work.
If your planner is too large to upload in Etsy, what do you recommend? The planner is 228.1 MB.
Compress the file! You can google "compress a file" and there are a number of safe websites where you can upload the file and it will condense the size. I haven't experienced any issues with its quality or use afterwards, but it may be possible.
First off love you video! So helpful! But is anyone else having trouble selecting and dragging with the pencil? I did just get the Apple Pencil 2 and an iPad Pro so I’m not sure if it’s just inexperience but I have messed with the settings and still can’t get the hang of it. Every time I try to select and drag I “draw”. If you could help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Thank you :) Go into the setting of Keynote (three dots in righthand corner). Click Apple Pencil and make sure "select and scroll" is on. You just need to change the functions of the Apple Pencil in Keynote!

I cannot fill in the line with an image!! When I click “Style” all it shows is “Present” & “Color.” It doesn’t show “Image” as an option.
Make sure you are using a shape (not a line), and then decreasing its size to "look" like a line. FIll image should hopefully appear then :) let me know if you still need help!

Hi, thank you so much for these videos! They’re really helping me out. Just wanted to ask, when you create the binders in keynote how do you then add it to your planner? I tried to save it as an image but then the white background is behind the ring binders so not very realistic. Thanks again!
I plan on filming an updated ring tutorial soon :) but: once you have all the rings, select them all, and group. Then copy and go into the Keynote file where your planner is and paste. Alternatively, export as a PDF and convert to PNG. I don't have my iPad in front of me right now, but I wanna say you might be able to export as PNG as well? Not sure on that one, but the other methods are definite things you can do!!

Search procreate on your device -- the app store should list alternatives :) An alternative for Keynote : Microsoft Powerpoint, Google Slides

I plan on (hopefully) releasing more Android-friendly tutorials soon. Keynote is accessible to anyone for free online though to create these binder/planner rings. Since I don't use Android, my app recommendations are limited. But I've heard great things about using powerpoint to create a digital planner!
Why not just make the original line that you build the ring around on its own layer and then just delete the layer when you’re done? You can also delete the background to give you the checkerboard background with no fill, by the way.

YOUR KEYNOTE MUST BE A DIFFERENT VERISON FROM THE ONE I'M USING, BECAUSE I AM FOLLOW YOUR STEPS FOR SELECT AND GROUP.. IT WANT WORK FOR ME.
There has been an update for Keynote, but mine still currently works the same as the older version (just a few differences in the overall appearance and negligibly small changes). It can be pretty difficult sometimes to select and group -- sometimes it's finicky. I recommend using one finger (one one hand) to hold down one shape that you are trying to group and then tap with the other finger (on the other hand).

It’s a current bug with iOS15 update. All we can do is report & wait. Save and access from Files as a workaround for now.

If you want a transparent background straight from procreate just turn of the background in layers and save the image💕

Dont know if anyone has previously mentioned this, but that music is totally competing with your voice. Way too loud, and you dont need it . Aside from that looks like a good vid.

Select the layer you want the image over,
click the ‘plus’ icon and insert image,
select the new layer,
click clipping mask,
select the layer again & click merge down.
More steps but less confusing when you get it. Procreate has sooo many features it’s hard to find the easiest way to do things lol. I only found this because I’m also a digital artist 😅

Keynote is free! If you are a PC user, you can use Keynote on your preferred Internet browser. Procreate is an artistic app that does cost, but Keynote is a great option too!
