- "I sense in her a key as yet unturned."
The experiences of the past had hardened Susan's heart, but Marcus loved her, pain and all, and refused to give up on her.

Thank you very much for sharing this. Ivanovna and Marcus had one of the best relationships on television.
Long ago there was a magazine called Starlog, and JMS had a short story in it in the 1990s where he brought Marcus back to life.
Marcus chasing Susan was one of the great parts of seasons 3-4....
I enjoyed the tension of the relationship more than any other element of the series. His absolute devotion to her and her absolute devotion to duty. Charming, yet still there was depth. In the end it was his action to save her life that perhaps made one of the most important beautiful moments of the series. I recall expecting someone to intervene, stop the process before it was too late, then build a new life ( even if brief) for them as a couple.
The fact that she was just starting to melt, at least a little, makes for an additional and significant layer.
I would say that Susan Ivanova was a pretty irresistible object herself!
Yeah I remember how many characters were hitting on her…
…before she started hitting back that is ;)
I love this so much, and yet it breaks my heart! So moving!
Brilliant
My father is convinced they killed Marcus because people couldn't understand a British person not playing a villain.
😂😂😂
Probably a part that I always ignored and didn't care for much. Particularly the part when Marcus gave his life to save Ivanova, it's so cliche that I removed it from my memory until i've seen this vid.
not just cliched. Stupid and completely out of character for him. He literally had probably five to ten people that would have *happily* donated some life force to save Ivanova that he just went through without even asking if they'd be willing to help him. His death was the biggest travesty in the entirety of season 4, because it was so completely unnecessary and pointless. Had he died shielding her from the falling debris at the end of the battle, at least that would have been noble and instinctive. This was worthless premeditated suicide.
