Omg. This deck. I don’t know if Pretty is what I would call it. Although no pointed ears or wings on the human figures are to be seen it has a feel of the fae. I love Rackham but the decks never read well for me, maybe because the images are forced onto the meanings. This deck is probably the most intuitively evocative yet still systematic, that I have ever seen. Otherworldly, elegant, harsh, gentle, feminine and yet masculine and strong, real and yet out of time. As a weed wyfe and wood witch, I am utterly enamored by this deck. I have watched several times and captured several screenshots to study. I shall be well acquainted with this deck before it ever arrives on my doorstep.
A few cards I look forward to seeing the artists notes on. The Empress seems gloomy and I miss the alluding to abundance that I am familiar with. The female fecundity is missing. She seems more a young high priestess. The High Priestess tho, definitely a scarlet Ohara look, love it. The 8 of wands, the 7 of cups, the 3 of cups ... I think that’s it that seem to stray a little far, from my viewpoint.
Ah. The Hanged man. I can see the meaning but it seems more of something that happens to us than Odin hanging from the tree for knowledge but I can work with that, a variation I have seem before. And the Wheel with the Ant on a leaf. 🤔 less of cycles and more the whim of happenstance, will the wind blow you to shore or will you float here for a while. Could be a long time. Could come along in five minutes.
