Thatâs why the iKamper skycamp is the perfect tent I think. It has the hardtop but has the size of the traditional roof tents. Fast up and down with no zipper. 4 person also.
Also, iKamper skycamp doesnt have exposed gas struts. That is what sold me, and they are sturdy in windy conditions.
I picked up what looks like the same tent from Alibaba. It was $850 USD plus $300 shipping to my door in Canada plus I got to customize it got it wider thicker mattress Stainless strut , much cheaper than a name brand. After all all these companies get there tents from china and get their company name printed on it then sell it to you for 3 x the money, skip the middle man

The thing about hard shells that I've found out recently...tall people don't fit. My son is 6'5" and he fit in my 23Zero Breezeway, but doesn't fit in my new hardshell. Tall family? Soft Shell/Traditional is for you.

Ah CVT, the experts at rebranding Alibaba tents and having literally no documentation on anything because they spent all their money on marketing.
Actually, they literally do not have a support section of their website at all, what a joke. A major competitor has a front and center help section with pretty much anything you'd need to know.
Itâs wild to see where CVT is today versus when I first made and published this video.
I think there are some good moves theyâve made in selling to a company that can actually manage them, but I agree that the Chinese import of tents is played out.
The brand that has the deepest pockets buys exclusive rights to a design until the factory decides it is ready to put other logos on it.
The imported tent business model is odd.
CVT sadly hasnât changed many things since being acquired. They just spend more on paid social ads

JB makes a solid tent, but I wouldnât say it is the ONLY option to consider. I think the GFC is one of the best rooftop tents available in terms of weight to space ratio. Plus it is made in America and supports all-American labor and parts.
Just seems so out of touch...(But so is society these days)..for the money..but I guess if you are into a vehicle 60+ k $..what's $3500.!!
