This is Angelina Jordan the most extraordinary storyteller in my lifetime.
Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize Dec. 2023
Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. In that moment, Angelina Jordan became a vessel for something greater-an embodiment of love itself. Her voice carried us beyond our own pain and loneliness. We felt connected-to her, to each other, to something intangible yet profound. As she held that final note, time snapped back into place. The applause erupted-a thunderous acknowledgment of what we had just witnessed. But it wasn't just applause; it was gratitude-for allowing us to glimpse love and longing through Angelina's eyes. And so, we stood there, hearts full, tears in our eyes. Angelina Jordan had given us something rare-a reminder that love exists even in our brokenness. And for those few minutes, we believed it with every fiber of our being.

Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference.
Thank you for providing artist links to the official channel and video in your description, and encouraging your viewers to use those links as you do for your own channel. That will help ensure her success and her goal of spreading peace and love to the world.

The stars and planets aligned when Angelina Jordan was born.
The journey of an artist can indeed be profoundly affected by their socioeconomic background. Angelina Jordan's financial stability has arguably given her the freedom to explore and express her creativity without the immediate pressure of financial survival. The most profound individual in AJ’s life, according to her, is her grandmother, Mery Zamani, artist/poet extraordinaire who’s knowledge, wealth and genius have tutored AJ, and cultivated her unbelievable talent. This is a luxury not afforded to all artists, and the music industry is replete with stories of immensely talented individuals who have faced immense pressure to succeed financially. This pressure can sometimes lead to a tragic struggle with substance abuse, as seen in the cases of Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse. Their legacies serve as a stark reminder of the potential consequences of the immense pressures of fame and success in the music industry. It's a complex tapestry where talent, personal circumstances, and external pressures interweave to shape an artist's career and personal life.

Summer breeze, or typhoon, AJ performances have the gravity of Jupiter.
Angelina Jordan's musical prowess is evident in her dynamic range of performances. Her collaboration with Toby Gad on the song "Bad Valentine" showcases her ability to deliver powerful vocals that resonate with her audience. Meanwhile, her restrained performance at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony highlights her versatility and sensitivity to the context of the event. Jordan's ability to convey deep emotion through her music, whether it's the raw energy of "Bad Valentine" or the poignant subtlety of "Unchained Melody" performed at the Nobel tribute, allows listeners to experience a profound connection to her artistry. Her performances are not just about vocal talent but are a testament to her understanding of the power of music as a universal language of human expression.

I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later.
Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old.
Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian.
We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.
In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".
"Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Great detail! How could a 17 year old know how this was the perfect song to sing to the two children (twins, about Angelina’s age) of a political prisoner. How could she keep it together knowing they both realize their mother was sentenced to basically a life sentence and they will never see her again.

Nice reaction, thanks. The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony. This performance of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, she reinterpreted this legendary song and adapted it perfectly to the emotion of the homage to the painful story of Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and wonderfully "unchained", probably the only singer who at only 17 years old has already sung on 2 different occasions at the celebrations of Nobel Prizes.💛🧡❤

This took place in Oslo, Norway .. Angelina's birth city. At the end when she smiles with her hand over her heart .. this was to Narge Mohammadi's 17 year old boy and girl sitting up front. I know that they met before the performance .. would love to know what language they spoke in . .. I * think * the kids have been living in France? Angelia speaks at least some Farsi from her Iranian grandmother Mery (and some Japanese from her grandfather). Sigh .. I suppose they may just have used English. How boring.
