Just to let you know, the other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. The man that she was in love with had just broken up with her. Per Toby, he played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while now and are creating new music for her to sing. Toby Gad is the guy on the piano and he co-wrote this with BC Jean who sang it originally. Beyonce heard it and wanted to cover it and subsequently made it famous. Toby is now writing new material with Angelina. The first song they have is "Bad Valentine" which they performed in a small venue in LA. James Thiel has the video of this on his channel and has received approval from Toby to release it on CZcams. In this video the pianist is Toby Gad .. the Piano Diaries are a celebration of his hit songs. He invited Angelina to England with him to perform .. this is the sixth version I have heard. I am not sure if it is really a cover when a singer is standing next to the composer as they jam to create a different version of the song.
