It's actually so disrespectful how they portray classical music
@Auf CZcams nicht an Politik interessiert You ok?
@Auf CZcams nicht an Politik interessiert I'm amazed at how it's possible to write so much and say so little.
@Auf CZcams nicht an Politik interessiert it could be all concert music, played by an orchestra
@Auf CZcams nicht an Politik interessiert you are right, the disrespect starts in the comments, you are rude to other people just by writing your first comment, then you had to make it worse, thats pretty sad

As a classical musician, the Piano and Violin duo were very awesome. The coordination was great. The only thing that was jarring was the beeps from Judges.
right??? that performance was spectacular, really wanted to see it through
it's not even clear how they managed to hear that the ensemble was bad in such a short time and how they could determine that the violinist was better than the pianist, she barely did anything special to show that.
They heard like ten seconds of the song, and barely an violin, so who were they to judge how good the musicians were? Honestly would’ve loved to hear the full thing.
Boo to judges!
You can't posssibly call something "dreary and indulgent" after hearing it for approximately 7 seconds. Indulgent?? How?? Like, actually how can you call it indulgent, someone please explain, because I'm not folloiwng.
as a flute player I’m so offended it just annoys me that people see classical musicians as boring and talentless, it’s actually so sad that him playing his crutch has to get the attention of the audience.
They don't. He didn't. It's all fake. Even the contestants are in on it. Because of that, I feel they are as guilty as the judges.
It's even more sad because in real life, people are usually super impressed by classical musicians/singers, but media such as this portrays classical musicians as boring; as a result, that portrayal bleeds out into people's perception, so they are less inclined to actually want to listen to classical music.
Do you know what the piece Mr. Wood was playing at 1:52 before "500 Miles"? I actually quite liked the feel of it and would like to listen to the whole thing.
Ella Y. E. S.
It is really offensive, really. The pianist and violin girls part really offended me, these judges do hate Classical Music and do not know what a "harmony" really is.
esp the part that the middle judge just ask "is it because of your loyalty to your friend"
OMG this is the second time I watched this and I still trigerred

I actually can almost guarantee that the violinist auditioned on her own and the studio put an actor who plays the piano just to add that whole “drama” bit in the beginning. They probably didn’t even know each other lol
Ha
actually?
No way would they be able to find a volunteer who can actually play the piano properly.
The fact that the two girls actually sounded good just makes this worse
I mean to be fair, I wouldn't say that they're really great but at least they're good or maybe decent and yea it's quite enjoyable, I mean that summer tho

I'm convinced that radio and record companies pay these shows to portray classical music like this in order to push this idea that classical is boring in order to further pop sales by pushing people away from other genres.
Fucking disrespectful. Sorry for my language.
I second this
I really don't think they need to make a special effort to keep people listening to pop
@@wiegraf9009 it took considerable effort to get them to _start_ listening to pop at the rates they do nowadays. It's all corporate strategy and subtle brainwashing and no that's not some kind of conspiracy theory, it's a known fact that pretty much every pop song is written by the same two people and produced by the same few teams. They use carefully targeted psychological tricks to get people hooked. The same chords, the same motifs, the same "themes", the same dreadful lyrics even sometimes. All because the brain likes familiarity, it makes it feel calm, thus making people more likely to seek more of the same thing out in the future AND in addition to that they don't give you a choice, which is why the same 5-10 songs are on repeat on the radio at different times of the day, that forces you to listen more, that programs you to like it, its basic psychology. If they're already putting that much effort in, why not add a little more just to kill the competition? I mean look at what happened to rock and classical. The only genre currently competing with pop is hip hop, and it's mostly because they use the same strategies, which is why I keep hearing trash like 6ix9ine instead of actually good rap like Eminem or Mike Shinoda and the like.
@@VisionsOfSpy I try listening to the top 40 at the end of every year just to see if there is anything interesting that has come out in the pop world and I'm almost always disappointed. Not saying I like it, just that it's familiar like you said.
One way to make it on Got Talent:
0. Have an emotional story
1. Begin playing a classical piano piece until a judge or scripted audience member yawns
2. Stop for dramatic effect, allowing the judges and scripted audience to gasp
3. Kick the bench in a sudden fashion across the stage, and play the piece 3x as fast (bonus points if you dance whilst looking really intense)
4. Move on to the second round.
5. Repeat the process over again next round and be booted off from being boring.

You gotta sign away the rights to all your content when you go on those shows anyways

Yes.
Kaori and Kousei are disappointed
I teach classical piano. I tell my student that learning / playing the notes is analogous to coming to an interview in a suit, tie, and resume. Those are the basics. Piano is way more than just the notes; there is so much going on you have to apply to those notes you press. You come to the interview w your suit and resume, but you get the job w your personal expression, character, qualifications, experience, and how you articulate.
These kinds of shows only care that you're shocking or weird. The thing about mastering any kind of art or even skilled career is many people just don't have the frame of reference to appreciate the thousands of hours that have gone into learning and improving.
You guys should both apply to a “got talent” show and just play literally as fast as you possibly can, making as many mistakes along the way as you possibly could. I can hear the golden buzzer now.

Imagine if Hilary Hahn came on, played something like Der Erlkönig, without revealing that she is a celebrated and 3 time Grammy award winning violinist until after the judges/audience yawns at her.

I was in the audience for this once, and the first thing that happened before all the performances was the people running it getting g us to fake a bunch of different reactions that they could use home editing the show
I thought classical music was about art, style, emotion, and technical skill. I never realized it was just a pretense for stripping on a talent show.

The yawns during the flute audition probably had nothing to do with his performance, in fact they might not even have been from his audition. They edit the audience reactions to get the “response” they want
yeah also sometimes ppl are just tired 99% of the times i yawn it's not because i'm bored
A yawn is a gasp for air when you are tired. You are literally taking a breath.
Exactly, some of the cuts to audience members are reactions happening in-between preformances when nothing is going on. Unfortunately you have to take those with a grain of salt. They also can add a layer of clapping and shouts to make audience reactions sound bigger than it really was. It's not fake all the time, but it definitely is enough to make the show not thrust worthy.
the kid: i express my feeling through my music...
also the kid: plays with such aggression 😂

The judges asking the violinist to audition again without the pianist is really scandalous, especially since she was standing right there, being told the reason the performance was bad was because of her. It was even reinforced again when the judges gave the now violin soloist a standing ovation even though her performance wasn't even better than their collaboration.
If I was in her place, I would have come back up on stage and smashed their heads open. This sort of behaviour is exactly what schools try to discourage kids to do, yet the judges act like they are the ones who are right. To even have something like this on national television is absolutely unacceptable.

That was just incredible how they thought it was okay to say that. If I was her, I would have just walked off stage in complete and utter shock. While before it could have been simple jealousy issues between them because one got left behind, now it's a whole loyalty issue. That's one friendship destroyed. That just flat out pisses me off.
It's unfortunate the judges aren't taking this seriously. I understand it's for entertainment, but yawning just as the man started was incredibly disrespectful and it is disheartening these guys with raw talent aren't getting valid recognition. Alright people...
Today we learned that...
The judges have no clue how music works •_.
But we knew that already
Sub Roy yea good point
even worse, I don't know who are the judges aside from Simon all the time, nor what they do to be judging the contestants.
They only accept:
- contestants with sad back story
- any famous music or some trending shit
Other than that is unnaceptable
Even the audience
After ending the Guinness World Record twoset move on to their next target Americas got Talent
True
To actually wake them up. Can't believe someone would yawn on that.
and no one's complaining about that
find out next episode if he will take down the orchestra
@@DeceasedDuck *violently grabs popcorn*
You’re reactions are exactly the same as mine throughout all pieces lol. Wish you could do more of these reaction vids lol
1:23 this is so disrespectful to me and my fellow flutists
My heart goes out to that girl who got rejected in favour of her friend. Like wtf??
yea that must really have taken an unbelievable toll on her confidence and even their friendship, I know it would for me definitely. Messed up
Not to mention, I feel as though the only reason the violinist was the one brought back was because she was the one playing the melody when I think it might have actually been her timing and counting that caused the entire piece to sound scrambled and off. If anything, and if necessary to separate them, both of them should have performed again, not just the violinist.
I have a conspiracy theory which is probably a stretch but then again everything on reality tv is a stretch: The violin girl was going to audition alone all along, but to stir up drama for ratings, the producers grabbed some random pianist, put them together and said "act like you're friends who are auditioning together" and that's why they both sounded so disconnected during the perfomance, because they had never rehearsed together before. Then the producers could tell the judges "okay now let's pretend to call back violin girl because we like her better"
Don't feel bad, it's all fake anyway.
@@Carpatouille yes you're probably right, but the thing is the message being conveyed. Like it's ok to just shit on your friend for the sake of money/fame/whatever.
When I was a child the message being conveyed was "win or lose as a team", "you never leave your wing man", you know?
So he plays honestly really nicely on the flute. But only gets a reaction when he pulls out the crutch. I have no words. The flute is hard. It. Is. HARD
When I was at school I had a go at playing the flute. Nope. Couldn't play it LOL Went straight back to my clarinet! The thing is most instruments are actually not to hard to make some semi-musical noises out of them that would impress some idiotic 'reality' TV host. To actually _play_ the instrument takes years of practise and a dedication to the art that these shows gloss over and treat as less then nothing.
I stopped playing many years ago, something I regret now and just don't have the time to spare these days to relearn. Actually I can still play my clarinet but I can't read sheet music anymore so I am limited to mostly Stranger on the Shore as it is the only song I played enough as a kid (my mother liked it) that the muscle memory is still present!

*loud sigh*
I KNOW!! I play the flute for highschool band and i work my ass off for every single song!! We play pieces where we have to play super high notes super softly which is almost impossible. i practice almost every night and i still need extra help from my band director. woodwind musicians don’t get nearly enough credit as they should
I KNOW RIGHT? FLUTE IS HARD!!! ITS HARD GETTING THE SOUND OUT!
I remember crying in school because of how hard the flute was- assholes with no real idea of how hard it is to play an instrument
i bet twosetviolin could get a gold buzzer in Britain and Americas got talent
I think they sometimes edit these shows to show certain in things in a bad light. So like, when "everybody" looked to be yawning at the flutes, there were probably like, two people in the audience yawning at that time, and who knows whether it was related to the show or if the just stayed up too late last night- but that's what the cameramen and/or editors decided to highlight to put the flutists in a bad light.
"Why they say the pianist girl is not good? I think because she didn't have a stool to knock down
Yeah, she was standing. Big mistake... 😅
“Piano and Violin don’t belong together.”
My pianist and I:
Those are some fighting words, tea-drinker
Your lie in April
yeah and what about the other prefomance who used it
To me it goes together like peanut butter and jelly!
I wonder if they ever played an instrument... like imagine a music school violin concert without piano? I love the violin, but I personally love it even more with a piano accompanying it, playing the violin myself
🎻+🎹=💕
Piano’s and Violins are the best instruments to play together how could they
Man I feel bad for every classical musician including my self. I play a lot of type of music, but yet one of the hardest is classical. I understand how hard it is and then after practicing for years, your whole life, you go to a talent show and then you are received with a bored audience even when you have not even started. That is just bad
i have never yawned when i watch ur videos
Thanks Eddy for saying “it’s not a piano, it’s a keyboard” you represented us, the pianists.
as a keytarist, i just hate it when they say "WOW You can play piano really well"
Like dude for real? Piano? Since when is piano used for rock bands
You mean percussive melodica
yes
YAAAAS EXACTLY. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY "I play piano" but it's just fucking keys lol. It's like Electric Violin and Wooden/Original Violin...IT'S 👏NOT👏THE👏SAME

SOOO TRUEEEEEEE
I'm glad Chloe Chua's parents wouldn't let this talent show within 100 feet of her, lol!
I feel this same way about singers who go on America’s Got Talent. If you sing a style other than pop they don’t care.
flautist and pianist here. Honestly both hit me hard we need more support for flautists those running notes hit hard

Mozart: You got that right
*Mozart after listening to the kid's music*
*"YOU DON'T GOT THAT RIGHT"*
Actual Mozart's reaction: oh wait...
[He's dead so he won't be speaking]
AHAHAHAHAHA
As cool as it is that this kid can play...kind of, Mozart was a genuine genius making music at the age of 4 and composing in his teens without the help of youtube or tutorials or all the music theories that we have today. He was one of the ones who invented parts of music theory lol.
@@JavierSanchez-lu3jx So, you don't know about the teaching that people with higher social class, like Mozart, received at the time by institution or well known tutors? Because, I don't recall he learning music theory by himself, left alone composing complex and memorable pieces at 4.
@@duvan-solis "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his first musical piece when he was five years old."... and when he got all that institution support? In his previous life?
The whole point here is that the guy in first comment is claiming that Mozart somehow was not a musician when he was 5...
You guys are Great!!!
6:26 when I was 9 I played piano AND the flute better than this kid.. AND I WASN'T PLAYING AT THAT AGE YET
I've been on a show like this when i was 10 and they legit had a script that we had to read off. They told us what to say and what to do. I went there because they were scouting for 'Talented kids and musicians' i was unsure but my mum wanted me to because she thought it would be a good experience. Turned out it was set up, We had to practice parts over and over again, and people were smoking and talking bad in front of us(kids from 4-18) swearing. The only good thing was the accommodation. Most of us musicians had really good talents but were told to do crap pieces for beginners. But you know it my opinion so don't ban me please.
Damn,So I thought I was just overthinking when I thought about fake perflrmances too

@Sangay Zam EXACTLY
@Sangay Zam ikr.....
These scripted TV shows would also yawn at Mozart, if he got reincarnated and would present a new piece he has written.
Yes completely! I never yawn because I’m bored but I always yawn because I’m tired (but I’m always tired and it always feels like I’m being rude and I’m genuinely really interested!)
To add most shows are at night (for some reason) and I’m tired NOT bored
Love your videos! Keep it up!
Love you guys :)
A little bit of sense in this world.
That was honestly really unclassy and gross to break up a friendship on national television like that just for ratings
TV companies have no morals...
I would hope if I were in that position I would tell him and the panel to fuck off and get a real job.
Edit:And I don't like using language like that at someone.
